just arrived back from a relaxing two week stay at the tasia maris beach hotel.had a wonderful two weeks in the sun,the weather was lovely for both weeks only one cloudy day but still warm.Firstly i would like to mention that what a lot of the reviews on this hotel doesnt mention is that it appears to be a group of three hotel complexes close to each other,it would appear that the Tasia Maris is the main flagship hotel which has the evening entertainment and appears to be the plusher of the others,we stayed in the Tasia Maris Beach, which as it says on the packet is on the beach! This hotel was smaller than its big brother but was adequate for what we required. You were welcome to use the other hotels facilites but we stayed at our own. Most of the rooms had a sea view with a balcony and most importantly FREE air conditioning which was a bonus and much needed! The hotel also provided a mini fridge within the room which you could rent for about 30 euro per fortnight. We did not dine in the hotel restaurant except for breakfast but there was no complaints from other guests who did,the staff at the hotel were helpful and friendly and the rooms were cleaned i think every day. The beach was a small sandy cove with enough sunbeds to go around with lovely clear water and various water sports and jet ski hire if required. The hotel had a small pool with a pool bar with sunbeds that we didnt seem to have a problem getting, not bad considering we never got downstairs before 9am! The resort of Aya Napa has lost its bad boy image of the late 90s and has attracted more families than previous years, there is a twenty minute walk to the town centre with bars and restaurants en route including mcdonalds and pizza huts etc.We hired a small car for about 280 euro for a week and visited most of the island. We went to Nicosia for the day which the old town was lovely and tranquil and you can actually now cross over into the Turkish part providing you have photo id with you, worth doing. All in all we had a lovely two week stay in Cyprus and returned home very brown and relaxed, but having been coming to Cyprus for a few years now we were very surprised and disapointed at how expensive it has become now that they have gone to the euro,,everyone was complaining bitterly about the prices, and a lot of the once thriving restaurants and bars appear to have been affected even during the happy hour in our bar was expensive.Trade in Cyprus is down 20% they need to sort out prices urgently.

We have just returned from a week at Tasia Maris Hotel. This was our first Thomson Gold and we were there for our silver wedding anniversary. We could not find any fault with the hotel. From the moment we arrived we were warmly welcomed and our luggage was brought to our room. We booked a superior room and the view was fantastic. All the hotel staff were very friendly and could not do enough to help. The manager holds his own welcome and farewell meetings, and he introduces his staff to all the guests. The food during the week was absolutely out of this world. Numerous choices were available for the evening meal, all of a very high quality. The entertainment team, Dixie Lee and Jamie worked very hard every day and the entertainment in general was of a very high standard. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anybody and we will be going back next year.
A fantastic holiday

Having just returned from Gardens would like to say that the staff were very friendly and cleanliness of the hotel was excellent. However I cannot see how they are in the Platinum brochure. The first week of the holiday was bedlam, children were running and jumping into the pool all day long ,fighting and for anyone with very young children it was a nightmare. The food in the poolbar was very expensive a waffle was equivalent of £5, jacket potatoes were approx the same.Depending on who was working the poolbar decided if you could order off childrens menu for kids or not ,he said only menu available was adults. The quality of food inconsistent/dont order Greek salad. Please be aware the road that runs in front of the hotel is very busy and noisy, cross at your own peril they dont always stop at the crossing even if your on it .Towels could be found on sunbeds at 6-30am and on some days they were all taken up by 9-30.Sandy Bay is a very nice beach located just 2 mins away and Nissi beach is picture postcard and is about 10 min walk away.

If I were to have a criticism it would be that these apartment have always been in the Summer Sun brochure until this year when they have gone Platinum, hence an increase in price; but with not obvious upgrade.
Cyprus has now gone to the Euro and we did find it to be quite a lot more expensive than last year. When out shopping be aware of the price tags, they are showing the price in Euros and also in Pounds but this is not a true figure denpeding on the exchang...
