Kyrenia has a picturesque harbour. During the day its like cafe's around the harbour & at night the lights come on to transform them to romantic restaurants. The atmosphere is always relaxing. The town has the usual selection of gift shops, clothes stores, shoe shops, jewelers, bars & restaurants. If you are looking for traditional food, but reasonably priced, I would recommend Kö?em Kebap. Just past The Colony Hotel is a clothes store called Nor Butik. ?f you go down the side of that, Kö?em Kebap is at the end on the left hand side.

We have just come back from a truly memorable holiday in Northern Cyprus,and the Bellapais Gardens was the highlight of this. The hospitality extended to us was first class. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived (at an unearthly hour in the morning) to the day we reluctantly departed. Having sampled our first breakfast and later evening meal we decided to eat at the restaurant for most of the rest of the holiday - partly because of the log fire but mainly because of the excellent food, service and surroundings.

The room was lovely - with the bonus of beautiful views.

We won't stay anywhere else when we return to Northern Cyprus, and would recommend it to everyone.

it is a very well kept and relaxed place to be. the pools are a good place to spend the day as the pool bar has very nice food, there are 3 pools one for the kids to so you can have a good day all round.

The Kyrenia harbour is very pretty at night with a historical and unspoilt feel to it. Walked down their on a few occasions and found the stalls and scenary very interesting.

Be aware that this hotel is having a Conference room being built. I stayed in Room 109 and at 7o'clock every morning my partner and I were woken up by banging, cement mixers etc. We ordered drinks from the various bars and were continually charged different prices and more often that not overcharged. It get's embarrassing when you have to repeatedly question the bill. I also put the remote control down on the bedside cabinet one evening and it moved a plastic folder that then touched the bedside light. This blew all the fuses and we were left in complete darkness. When I wrote an e-mail to complain to the hotel, it took 2 weeks for a reply and I was basically called a liar because if the double glazed windows had been closed that you cannot hear any noise through them. I was also told they checked all my extra's (bills) and I had NOT been over charged. Also that they have the best electrical system in any hotel in Kyrenia. They insulted my intelligence and I would NEVER stay at this hotel again. There is also NO entertainment except Friday, Saturday & Wednesday!!!!

Beach – we were advised by other holidaymakers it was not finished and it looked messy and you had to pay at the weekend to use the sun-beds! The hotel is located away from the town its about 15-20 mins taxi drive. It’s very expensive to eat out

Just love kyrenia and its adorable people who are very family conscious and wander round the harbour en masse with 3 generations in tow til midnight sober and still looking very happy. No yob culture no drunks. It is worth hiring a jeep or car and driving the 3 or so hours up the Karpaz and staying B& B in Arch houses and eating in the restaurant there with its great owner B & B is about £15 pp

The people were all very friendly and helpful, we had heard stories of the northern people being miserable and aloof, far from it, they love children and are happy to chat with you, especially if you try and speak a bit of their lingo (Thank you, hello, goodbye etc etc).

We found Kyrenia to be extremely busy, not what we expected. The traffic was horrendous, rubbish and construction work everywhere you turn. There are over 200,000 people living in this resort ,not what I would call quiet and relaxing. The harbour and castle area are lovely what we expected of the whole town. We travelled a lot by local bus, and could not believe the amount of building going on,you could not get away from it. It was not the unspoilt Cyprus we were lead to believe from the travel websites and reviews we had read. They do not tell you about the army barrocks which seem to be everywhere,we didn't seem to be able to walk very far without coming across one and having to retrace our steps.

Lovely country! Beaches the food everything about Kyrenia makes North Cyprus so much better then the crowded commercial South Cyprus!

Outstanding country. ALot to see and alot to do. Unspoilt compared to the south side with a lot of historic sites to visit.

Nice town with a number of historic sites to visit. The outskirts of the town are scruffy but the center clean without any hassles. There seems to be a lot of casino's springing up - any more would spoint the resort.

We Loved Kyrenia, We be Back. Especially the People they are very Helpfull.
