Kyrenia grew on me after a few days - very nice round the old harbour, and no doubt even nicer in the evening but as we stayed between Kyrenia and Bellapais, did not get there in an evening.

Not a lot to do there, and public transport doesn't seem to exist. You have to hire a car, or use taxies.

Bellapais a lovely little place, but would think that a week would be enough to stay there. Very relaxing and chilled out atmosphere, although I felt it a little bit artificial - as if they were trying to cash in on the old Abbey. Still, a nice pretty place.

Kyrenia is a small resort, quite unspoit. You are drawn to the harbour, where most of the restaurants are situated. These are open in the day for snacks, lunches or just coffee or ice cream. In the evening, it's very pretty and buzzing wih people finding the right place to eat. A very attractive habour with plenty of sailing boats docked, which are used for day trips.

It is well located for a trip to Nicosia, about 20/25 minutes by car.

Therfe are many historical sites in the area, Kyrenia is a very old seaport with a castle once visited by Richard the Lion Heart and Eleanor of Aquitane. It is an easy drive to visit much of Northern Cyprus and there is as much for the shopper as the historical buff.

The harbour is a very beautiful place by both day and night although you do get hassled alot off people trying to get you into their restaurants when you walk down the street. As long as this doesn't bother you, you will be fine, they are always polite and friendly. I would definately recommend having an evening meal at the harbour, we ate at an italian restaurant called carbo which had balconies overlooking the harbour which was really romantic once it became dark and everywhere became lit up including the castle. By day you can take a stroll round Kyrenia castle which is situated right on the harbour or sit and enjoy drinks at one of the many bar/restaurants right at the waters edge

Set about 20 minutes walk from town but with a courtesy bus service. Staying in the refurbished residence was a delight. Super clean room with everything working and a crystal clear pool outside our door. Nothing was too much trouble for the reception team led by Sandra. Bar and food prices were comparable with local bars and restaurants and were excellant in quality and value. A really warm and welcoming hotel to enjoy highly reccomended.

Kyrenia and the surrounding areas are a hub of casinos, so brilliant if you like a flutter. Other than that, there wasn't too much to see really. However, if you have a car, it's worth driving to Lefkosia (Nicossia), and walking through from the Cypriot side to the Greek side - don't forget to bring your passports! Once there, the first thing you see is a big, fat MACDONALD'S. Very Westernised on the Greek side. Its much more authentic on the Cypriot side.

We loved Kyrenia. Very friendly, welcoming people. The food was lovely, and the scenery stunning. Wasn't as busy and hectic as other places we have been to, and we loved it.

Brilliant place,Steeped in History plenty of very nice Restaurants doing a variation of quality foods from all over the world, a great place for Shopping for Gold and Jewellery, Local wares,Pottery, ice cream ect and a Fantastic little Harbour where you can sit and sup and watch the world go by

There is so much for everyone in TRNC. Discover for yourself the delights here. The Lapida hotel has a comfortable bar and lounge area plus an indoor/outdoor dining area. There is a good sized swimming pool at the bottom of the garden. The rooms are basic but comfortable with an ensuite.

very good resort. easily accesscible. lot of things to see. The harbour is beautiful. Fort and the monastery worth a visit.

Lots to do and see and very picturesque. Most places of interest are within close driving distance. People are very friendly and helpful.

We only visited a couple of times. The castle and the oldest ship housed there is well worth a visit and allow plenty of time to do it. The are plenty of places to eat and drink and a reasonale selection of shops to look around. What is nice that it is not alot of touristy shops but you can still find tradional style gifts such as turkish delight and jewellery. It was also quite interesting to wander the streets with the mix of old and new.

The area of Kyrenia is lovely, however it doesnt really have much going on. There is a shop in the harbour owned by a family that make 'trick boxes', this is a must visit! all the things are just amazing (cant remember the name unfortunately). Perfect for people who like historical days out or just the sheer piece and quiet that Northern Cyprus can offer.

Highly recommended, great for families, couples and single travellers. Fantastic harbour, excellent restaurants.
