last minute deal allocated on arrival phafos ended up in pollis what a dump i couldnt beleive we ended up there i have never seen anything like it 4 other people also were sent there they put 7 of us in what was like a little camper van with all our lougage and the journey was terrifying speeding through the mountain roads on the oppisite side just missing oncoming cars in the pitch black the rep was a waste of space cost us 300 cyprus pounds to be moved we had to pay 35 pond for a taxi as they wouldnt transfere us then we were told we had to pay the hotel 30 pounds each so we cold leave i told her we had alreay paid to be transfered to another apartment but the rep wouldnt have it she told us that they would phone the police and that we were lucky the week before a couple had to pay 400 pounds to leave i thinck it is disgusting how they treat people they are just out to get what they can i go on holiday 4 times a year i will never travel with airtours again so be warned

If you want to see the real Cyprus then Polis and Latchi is the place to go - but hurry as I'm sure in a few years time it will be discovered by the major tour operators.
To get the most out of the surrounding area car hire is a must - and a 4x4 preferably as the roads in the remote areas soon turn to dirt tracks. Petrol is very cheap at 42p a litre - nearly half the price of here! Another plus side is they drive on the same side of the road as us.
We found the Mariella Apts an excellent place to stay. The apartments are large and spacious and are only a 5 min walk from the centre of Polis.
Polis - The centre of Polis is centred around a pedesterianised street. Here you will find a few shops, bars and restaurants. Recommended places to eat were Finikas, Moustakalis and Chix Chox. The beach is about 10 min walk away from the centre. The beach is shingle/sand like Latchi but is pure sand once you are in the sea - good news for your feet. If you want a snack whilst on the beach the open air café does excellent sandwiches.
Latchi - The heart of Latchi is the harbour and the beach where you can do various water sports. However if water sports sounds to energetic for you then take a boat trip from the Harbour - if your lucky you might spot a dolphin! Most of the restaurants in Latchi specialise in seafood - although the menus cater for other tastes as well. Well worth a visit were Faros and George and Younis.
So, if you are a foodie and love the outdoors then Polis and Latchi is the place for you - if a lively holiday with plenty of night life is your idea of bliss then give Polis and Latchi a wide berth.
