Because we were on an all-inclusive basis we very rarely ventured out of the hotel, the 2 nights we did go out we went to a couple of pubs that were close to the hotel to watch the rugby. A couple of pubs had special offers on beer which worked out to be roughly the same price as back in england. The Bars were child friendly and they went out of there way to make sure we were all looked after.
The hotel was fabulous everything we could have asked for! When we booked we only did half board and upgraded when we arrived which came in very handy with 2 children. The pool areas were fabulous and catered very well for the youngsters. There was no worry...

Limassol is a very large resort, when staying in the resort area on the sea front, you see very little of the main town, the main road from old Limassol extends eastwards towards Larnica, and covers about 7 miles of resort, the beaches are very narrow, some are sandy, some are stoney, and in the peak season to hot to walk on !!!. Driving is no problem, they drive on the same side as us, and most of the roads are good, Cyprus is a very nice, and very hot country, if you can not stand temperatures in the 100's then do not travel in the summer months
We had been to this Hotel 3 years ago, self catering, as this year, Last time we were in a building overlooking the main hotel pool, and it was a very good holiday, so after seeing that the Hotel had gone extensive refurbishment to be given 4 star rating, ...
If is was'nt for the excursions we took and the outside night entertainment the holiday would have been a disaster.

We have been to Limassol on five separate occasions now. Although it is not the most picturesque area of Cyprus, we have come to love the area and we have found a very good restaurant in the Amathus area called 'Santana'. They serve authentic greek and cyprus dishes as well as international dishes and the restaurant is family-run who make us feel very welcome every time we go there - this is one of the reasons why we return to Limassol so often.
We stayed in this hotel last year when it was the 'Hawaii Grand'. On returning this year, not only has the name changed but the service and cleanliness has also changed. We were greeted by friendly and helpful reception and concierge staff. Our room was ...

Limassol is definitely a lively resort, quieter during the day but really comes to life at night. We only stayed for a week at the end of August.
Friday evening is "kids" night where all the local kids congregate by the beaches and local eating/drinking establishments, literally hundreds of them!
You could sometimes be fooled into thinking you were on the set of "The Fast and The Furious" as young (in their 30s and even 40s) Cypriot males screech away from traffic lights and pop wheelies all over the place.
A Cypriot team managed to get into the Champions League while we were there and they went mad. A lad spun his back wheel until you couldn't see him for the smoke, when someone commented he promptly parked his bike across a side road and chased the man then beat him up, there was chanting and shouting but strangely no police around, still, entertainment of sorts from the balcony at midnight!
On the whole Limassol is a good place to stay and didn't seem overly crowded with tourists.
Boat/Jetski hire prices were very steep compared to the Greek Islands so we declined. (2 euros per minute for a jetski we worked it out).
Quite pricey since the Euro came in but cigarettes and drink very cheap compared to England. The wine festival at the end of August/September is a good night out. Will probably return next year for a longer break and take the kids this time.
Beware it can get very hot so high factor sun tan lotion is a must especially if you have young children. (we had 36 to 40 degrees).
Nice place but staff didn't seem very happy, sometimes cheerful but nothing like the welcome you receive on Rhodes or Corfu.
We stayed in the Kapetanios Hotel Executive House - Studios. The rooms were a lovely size and well furnished. The room safe'...
