A very good hotel not within walking distance of the main area of Limassol. Bad points - hand and bath towels grey and rough every day. Air conditioning did not work properly so sweated it out as told it working. Had to pay to put drinks in the mini bar cooler. Booked a meal in Red Room and dressed up for a special occasion and when arrived Restaurant Manager not at all helpful and said the restaurant was changing its menu and was not serving that night although we had booked that afternoon. It was really just a 'show piece' and we did not see anyone at all eat in there all week. Good points - lovely gardens and pools.....softer free towels for free sunbeds and right on the beach front. We paid extra for a sea view which was worth it but balcony tiny. Ate out every night at the recommended hotels on internet. These were very good. We booked through Travel Republic on the internet and were pleased with their confirmation process. Both flights delayed however, Eurocypria great and plane half empty with loads of leg room but Jet2 return like a cattle market with deafening engines. Would possibly return to this hotel in the future but know what to expect.

A busy noisy resort with plenty of taxis to transport you back and forth. Visited castle and museum but nothing to write home about. Plenty of eateries but don't choose one on the main road as ear drums will burst. We nearly booked the Holiday Inn and we...

This was our 2nd return to this hotel, we love it so much that we're even going back for another week in September!

Since our last visit in June 06 the hotel has been taken over by the Atlantica Group, the hotel was under going a refurbishment however this didn't impact on the stay in any way.
The hotel had only been open for a few weeks, the dining room has been decorated a new al la cart restaurant built, new furnishings in the lobby, new beds around the pool, new carpets and the bedrooms were being refurbished too. Again it didn't get in our way and its looking really good, although last year thought it looked good however I guess the owners want to put their own stamp on it!

Some staff had accepted redundancy, however lots of faces from last year still there, staff are really friendly and will help with anything!

Food at this hotel is fantastic - the choice is good, they have set themed nights which offer a wide variety, as said last year though I don't feel it caters for families, you'll not find chips on the evening menu's!

Sadly the weather wasn't that good, we had a few days of rain and cloud, although it ws still warm, still got a good tan though.

Am glad to see the hotel cats were still there and not moved on by the new onwers, we along with several other guests were taking the ham from breakfast and feeding them, a young cat had just had kittens whilst we were there, it breaks my heart, cypriots are known for poisoning cats and regard them as vermin. If your a cat lover offer your support to the cypriot cats by visiting these sites:
malcolmcat org
catsnip co uk
We met a remarkable lady out there that has returned for the last 20 years taking out cat food and helping to raise money to help spay and neuter the stray cats, sadly we didn't get chatting till the last day, as she suggested she would have taken us to the cat sanctuary, hence we're going back in Sept and will offer any help.

There were a lot of guests transfered from another hotel that was not open on time after a refurb, The Atlantica. The hotels are very different and offers a different type of holiday, the Atlantica catering more for families, ofering all inc etc. Hence those that had been transfered did not feel that The Miramare met their expectations.

With the weather being bad this bought out the worst in some - get over it, enjoy yourselves, your not at work!

My only gripe was that the pool bar was not open for the duration of the holiday.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing break in a great hotel, a lot of single travellors too, and its a place that can you can feel safe in if you are on your own!

Brenda the First Choice rep is lovely!

When booking our holiday we had a choice of 3 hotels at various destinations in Cyprus, having never been there before they all looked good, however based on the comments of this site we chose the Miramare and what an excellent choice we made.
If your looking for burger and chips, water polo and karaoke then this is not the hotel for you.

The Miramare is also a corporate hotel, so caters for busines travellers too, also lots of Greek weddings took place and various Greek partys, its a huge hotel and this did not impact on us in any way. I can only liken it to our Marriott Hotel's or Hilton's?
We arrived on a night flight so went straight to our room, unpacked and hit the sack straight away. Due to last minute booking we didn't get a sea/pool view but that didn't matter, we were never in the rooms long enough. The rooms are good quality, clean, spacious and comfy beds!

There are 2 outdoor pools of good size, a childs pool and an indoor pool, spa is excellent, a good gym for the health freaks, cleaned daily and the gardens are kept really well. Its right on the beach, its small but clean, there are water sports for the daring!
You get towels from the spa to use by the pool, this came in handy. There were more than enough sun beds, no need to get up at the crack of dawn to set your towels out, thank god! There are staff there to ensure that locals are not coming in, you may get asked to show your pass.

We were half board, the food was excellent, different themed nights from Fish buffet, Mexican night (my fav) and an International night, amongst many, it was always hot, well cooked and good selections. Breakfast was good too, usual cold meats, cereals, fruits, cooked breakfasts or waffels. There is a bar that offers lunch menu's too, if you can eat after your breakfast!
You must eat out at least once to sample a Meze, a greek meal, lots of little dishes of different foods, I would recommend Little Venice along the main strip. It was fantastic, although too much food!

Although this didn't impact my holiday as I don't have a family, I wouldn't say that it caters too well for children, whether that be with activities or the food.
If however you are looking for a quiet relaxing holiday which was our requirement, then this is the perfect hotel for you. Not much entertainment but then thats not a feature for us.

The resort was actually quiet, it was suggested that this was due to the World Cup, also we were just out of the start of the season, suited us fine though. It was hot and even as a serial tanner factor 20 was required! Go prepared!

For the cat lovers out there, Cyprus is the island of the Cat, there were lots of them at the hotel, we fell in love with a mum and her kittens and as well as taking ham out at breakfast to feed them we even bought some whiskas biscuits, saddo's yes but they are so skinny, poor little things! Fed them up!

The resort has lots of restaurants and bars, we used the Irish bar or Shakespears, both good venues, friendly couple run Shakespears, worth a visit, good value too.

I didn't find Cyrpus as cheap as other holidays but it was worth every penny. The exchange rate was much better there than home!

The hotel is def worth a visit, as other entries state people go back time and time again, I would def go back to this hotel, its worth its 4 star if not more! The staff are great, friendly and helpful. If you want to keep your room on do it via the hotel not your agent, we paid £34 to keep the room via our travel agent, the hotel would have only charged £20 Cyprus pounds (still less). I guess at least by booking it we had it guaranteed!

Larnaca airport was an experience, make sure you have water with you, we arrived 2 hours prior to departure, we queued for 1.5 hours to check in, then by the time we'd got through to departures we were boarding straight away, although I guess it meant time went quickly families with youngsters suffered as its a long time to wait in that heat. No urgency so be prepared.

Have a wicked holiday, we did!

We would like to echo many of the reviews alraedy submitted for the Miramare hotel. Service and staff excellent. The communal areas (pool, gardens, gym etc) are all very well kept.

Maybe the bedrooms are starting to look a little drab and in need of a bit of tlc but nothing really to complain about. They are clean and comfortable. We had a great sea view.

During out 2 week stay it was interesting to note that every morning at breakfast there would be a bit of ";commotion"; . Yes ....it was the staff greeting more guests from the UK who were returning to this hotel for their 4th, 5th ,20th visit . This really says it all ...if many Brits return year after year then that must be the best recommendation .

We spent a great day in Troodos mountains on a jeep safari, and also we hired a car and saw qute a bit of the island. We found Limassol to be a good base for travelling, and for the days when we wanted to realx the hotel was ";spot on"; .
