just returned from akti village 25th june 2008. We Had A great time. We had a one bedroomed apt which was very big, 2 balconies, linnen and towels changed every other day. the room was cleaned every day. the complex caters for everything plenty of entertainment day and night. we had a different food theme every night in the restaurant. the staff were very helpful and friendly. The pool area was very nice with plenty of free sunbeds and umbrellas. The only down side of the area is you need a car to get around which are very cheap if you hire one from the harbour area. All in all a good allround complex.
for a family of 4 the introduction of the euro has increased the cost of eating out everything has increased which we noticed from our last visit to cyprus in 2006. coral bay beach is a must visit. the harbour in paphos is worth a visit but you must take a ...

A bit out of the way with quite a trek to the nearest bus stop. The surrounding land is currently being developed, not that close that you could hear building work, so maybe in the future buses will run down to the village. Hotel itself was great, very clean and comfortable. Plenty of sun beds and a lovely cove for swimming in the sea. Food not always to my liking but overall a varied choice and always fresh. There was always soup and salad, various cold dishes, at least one fish dish and two or three meat dishes every night. Entertainment not exactly exciting but Michel the compare made up for this. Lounge very comfortable and great for just sitting and having drinks with friends. All the staff are friendly and helpful, overall a place to be recommended. I would certainly go back again for the right price.
Only went there twice, once for shopping and once to catch a bus to somewhere else. The town itself looked great. The port was good for restaurants and good food. The promenade area was being 'done up' and will be lovely when finished.
The Akti is not central, however is situated in an excellent location for a breeze from the sea, a small cove to swim in and an abundance of sunbeds.

The kids club was fab with Lara doing the entertainment.
Food was OK but Fat Mamas excellent if you eat out.
What thins place lacks in being central makes up for in cleanliness, location close to the sea.
Freinds stayed elsewhare more central with just a pool but prefered Akti as it was a nicer cooler setting !!!
Please do not listen to horror stories - all staff were really nice and made time to talk to the kids, yes the shop was expensive but thats all I can agree on.
A short walk to the bus stop that can take you all over fo 80c.
The water park was fab and overall I would go back to the Akti - however not in July as it is so hot !!!

Booked the Atki 4 weeks before and as always consulted this site.
When we arrived at the Akti is was just turning dark and because we did not know where exactly we were we decided to eat there. Looked promising, carvery. Sorry to say but food was horrible! We also had a ham and cheese toasted sandwich at the pool bar on another day and again was horrible. Previous reviews are mixed and I suppose it really is down to your own individual tastebuds! Not for us!
Yes it is out of the way, the Akti from the road is around half a mile, although there is a dirt track which takes you upto the main road, bus stops are at the top of the track (turn right) so not too bad. BIG TIP!!! Take a torch with you, we bought one over there and it does make things alot easier at night!
The room we had (511) was extremely spacious and we could not fault at all. Very tidy and clean with maid service daily except Sunday.
There is a supermarket on site, and as per previous reviews is slightly expensive. We preferred to just get the coissants and milk/water from there although it does seem to have everything you would expect.
Entertainment was a little poor, not our cup of tea, but I appreciate it may be others. this consisted of various games around the pool etc, bingo at night or quiz and there was a fire eater and cypriot dancing (altho the latter seemed to be cancelled due to the weather).
The weather was very warm, about 25-30 degrees during the day, altho the area had particularly bad weather during the evening. They had the most amazing and scary thunder storms I have never seen in my life! Thats when we wished the hotel food was bearable!
For those that have been to Paphos before, the Akti is situated between the strip of Fat Mamas and Coral Bay. We walked from the Akti up the track to Fat Mama's one day and it took us 20 mins. The Akti is near the Venus Beach Hotel.
Good places to eat : -
FAT MAMA's
Theo's Restaurant at the Harbour
O'neils Irish Bar (just over from Fat Mama's) for a snack in the day!
Would I come back to the Akti? probably not as it was a little far out and with the need to get buses or taxis got a little tiring. Thumbs up for everything else bar the food.
Hope this helps!

Booked a week on a self catering basis at the Akti. The apartment was spacious and very clean. We paid for air conditioning which was well worth the money as there was a heatwave.
The main pool area is beautiful and there were always plenty of sun beds available. The reception and bar staff were excellent.
Our only complaint about the Akti would be it's location. We were told it was within walking distance of everything but this was completely untrue. We don't mind a bit of a walk, but to get to the harbour, for instance, would have taken about 2 hours. The bus stop was 10 minutes away, but this was only if you walked up an unlit dirt track. Our only alternative was to get taxis every night, which added about £15 on to the cost each night.
We had some great nights on bar street and round the harbour and we also tried the legendary Fat Mamas which was excellent.
We would definitely recommend the Jeep Safari up to the Troodos Mountains and sailing on the Catamaran, both great fun.
We would love to go back to Paphos as a week was not long enough, but we would try and stay somewhere a bit more central.
