We were in studio 115, adequate for a base. The towels were changed twice in 7 days and the bedlinen once. our toilet tissue bin was not changed everyday and you have to by your own toilet roll. George the owner is not very friendly, he came into our studio whilst cleaner was there and told us our setting was too high on aircon and changed it. Air con was 6.83 euro per day. plenty of sunbeds with no towels on etc but they never got washed and the pool area was never hosed down at all. there is a roof top where you can sunbathe but it is small and the beds are dirty ad dusty. there is no music around the pool and the bar is not open after 10.30pm - it was full of older couples it is best suited to very old people and families with small children as it is very quiet. I am 57 but i thought it was very boring if you want entertainment, late bar and friendly staff go somewhere els cos youll not get any of that here When we came we had to carry our own cased up 2 flights of stairs and when we left at 4 in morning we had no helo either, the son didnt open up for us to have a seat to sit on whilst waiting for bus until 5 mins before bus came. You can catch a bus to Coral Bay for E1.50 dont get off until you see a very large sign saying Coral Bay as bus driver doesnt help you and we got off too soon. We spent E48.00 on a half day cruise on the Ocean Flyer, it takes you to Coral Bay and back stopping off for swimming etc. the lunch was poor with just bread rolls cut up with a bit cheese on etc and some fruit. there was free soft drinks, cocktails, hot drinks and local beer as much as you could drink. It is nice on board, sort of posh. Not much entertainment in paphos itself unless you want to get drunk. Splash bar just off harbour and bar street has tribute singers on and hypnotist etc which was entertaining. plenty of places to eat and we had lovely meals which cost no more than up to E20 each including drink. We came back with euros - you can get by on E40 to E60 a day thats with meals and drinks all day. but not if you are a massive drinker as vodka red bull, and pints of strongbow were E4.50 each. There is a fair ground on the road to the municipal beach. it is 10 mins from shops and bar street. Never go pestered by ticket touts or scratch card jerks once.

We have stayed at the Crystallo for 6 consecutive years. The location is excellent for us, away from the main town but close enough for a 10 minute stroll. The owner George and his son Statis are extremely helpful, friendly and welcoming, almost like visiting friends. The rooms are basic, clean and roomy enough for a couple. No hesitation recommending this hotel.

Being our first trip to Cyprus we only booked a week ... how we wished we had booked two!!! We had a fantastic time and will definately be going back.

The nitty gritty - The Crystallo Apartments are BASIC (and a bit 1970s) but these are minor flaws! The apartments are big, clean, comfortable, well equipped and in an excellent location. The room was cleaned every day and the bed linen was changed at least three times (that we saw) during the week. Air conditioning is available (although even in August we didn't bother with it) and there is a safe in each room (£5 per week). The apartments do back on to a road into Paphos and this sometimes was a bit noisy but not really enough to disturb us too much. There was no noise from the bars/nightlife.

The pool is not huge but is big enough for the amount of apartments and there are plenty of sunbeds. The pool area is a suntrap and it is extremely hot - watch your barefeet on the floor tiles! There is a pool table, changing facilities, bar area and internet access on the ground floor.

The apartments are owned and run by George and his son both of whom are brilliant. Friendly, helpful and patient - as demonstrated by George whose patience must have been tested as he tried to teach me Greek - buy hey, I know three whole words now!

The apartments are well situated as it is about a 10 minute walk to the sandy beach (which has a small beach cafe and sunbeds - very nice and very reasonably priced), about 10 minutes walk to Bar Street (where the livlier bars and discos are to be found) and probably about the same to the harbour which is beautiful and packed with restaurants, cafes etc. On the whole you don't get too much hassle but there are the inevitable bar staff who try to entice you in off the street and you have to watch out for people with scratch cards - it IS all a con so don't be fooled.

Over the week we tried various cafes and restaurants for lunch and dinner, in the harbour and at Bar Street, and all very extremely good (even the set menu!!!). Particular mention to the Diana Steak House which was absolutely fab (went there three times!)(it's near the Aquarium) and The Rose Cafe (at the harbour). 'Splash' was good for evening entertainment with 'Kylie' performing Monday and Friday (you wouldn't know the difference ... honest!!!) and karoke.

Beware 'Edelweiss'. This restaurant along Bar Street is one of the poshest looking so we decided to give it a go. I ordered a well done T'bone steak - not difficult. After 20 minutes we were told it was taking a long time to cook. After another 20 minutes it was delivered and still running with blood! It was the worst meal we had the entire week and we left the restaurant without having to pay. Awful.

Prices are on par with English restaurants so not cheap (although your alcohol tends to be cheaper) but you do seem to get more for your money.

Shopping - bit iffy! Lots of toot souvenirs and rip off designer stuff (really good quality actually!).

We hired a speed boat out down at the harbour which was brilliant fun and well worth the money (£38 for 1 hour).

All in all Paphos was really really nice. Good restaurants, plenty to do and nice people. There was a really good mixture of holidaymakers from retired couples, couples, small groups of teenagers (no trouble) and families - all mixing and having a laugh.

It is nice to say that after dark we didn't feel threatened even once. We walked past groups of local teenagers who all smile and say hello. The local kids play outside in the dark up until about 9.30! In the whole week we heard one siren and that was an ambulance. Cyprus has a really low crime rate and I think the whole atmosphere of Paphos reflects that. Shops do not have steel shutters, you certainly feel safe walking about - even the bank cashiers don't sit behind bars or toughened screens!!!!

Finally we must mention Panicos the cab driver. We needed dental advice whilst away and Panicos (booked through George at the apartments) drove us to the Blue Cross and the because they couldn't help, he telephoned and drove to various other dentists (each time coming in with us and explaining in Greek what we needed - like an English cabbie would do that!!!!) before we found one that could help. Panicos left without taking payment simply leaving us his card so we could phone him to take us back to the apartments. We phoned, he came and we paid a mere £10. After we saw him around town after that he always hooted and waved. So if you need a cab ask for Panicos (details with George and in reception).

A brilliant place. A briliant time and we will definately go back.

Oh, .... and they have VERY nice roundabouts. Seriously!!!

first time to paphos and probably the last!!

we found ourselves bored stiff half the time with only bars and restaraunts for company!!Its o.k for someone who wants to lay by the pool or on the beach all day then go and get drunk in the evening!the apartments were very basic indeed for the price we paid, the shower was filthy an just a dribble!! we were given half a toilet roll for our arrival and then were told if we wanted more we would have to pay #1.50 for one!! THe air con rip of is unbelevable #3.00 per day and you can only have it on whilst you are in the room! this was stupid cause if you were out all day you are coming back to a boiling hot room untill the air con kicked in!!

the pool was also filthy with orange scum floating round the outside and we had strict instructions we could not use it before 8.30 in the morning and after 7.30 at night(not that we wanted to)

All in all not a very good holiday and definatly wont be staying in these apartments again!!

We have just returned from a fortnight in Paphos where we stayed at the Crystallo Apartments. We cannot fault either the resort or the accommodation and both had a really fantastic time.

Apartments are run by Father and Son, George and Stathis and they are very friendly people (Stathis being a bit crackers and very funny) The apartments were very big and very clean - at least ours was no 115. Air conditioning for a small fee which you do need and internet is now in the reception. We would definitely return to these apartments. 10 minute walk to beach and about 15 minutes to the Harbour.

The resort was great, catering for all ages. You could have a quiet night in some of the Tavernas or a noisy night with plenty of lively music etc down Bar Street where the music bars and clubs are open all through the night to the early hours in the morning.

There are loads of places to eat - too many to mention - but try Charlie's Place down on the front opposite KFC for the best Kleftiko (lamb) I have every tasted in my life. We also liked the Alkion Tavern which had Cypriot dancing and great food.

We found that the beaches were not that great but we did find that Aki's Sandy Beach was good which we spent most of our time there - the locals also used this one. We did take a trip to Coral Bay but to be truthful we did not find it as brilliant as people make it out and it is half hour bus ride for about 80c which is good.

Food and drink are on a par with British prices so dont expect a cheap holiday.

We would definitely return to both the resort and the apartments again.

A short walk from both bar street and the harbour.

The apartment are a bit basic but very clean, there is a small pool with plenty of sunbeds.

There are plenty of nice restuarant near bar street (too many to mention)

Beware are you are walking into the harbour area, there are so many lads/lasses handing out scratch cards for a so called ";free holiday";

This is our 2nd visit to Paphos in 3 years and would definitely visit again.

First time to Cyprus for me and the other half. Loved it. Paphos is big enough to explore but friendly enough to enjoy. At NO stage did I feel like I was being ripped off.

Pafos bird park OK - not huge but has a giraffes! Pafos aquarium a let down. Fish in dirty talks badly labelled, two dead fish and one more on it's last - er - legs!

If you like history, plenty to see with the archaological park and Tombs of the Kings.

Didn't have a bad meal in two weeks. although you get what you pay for in general. Special mention go to the Almond Tree - posher nosh and Chloe's chinese.

Cyprus is great to explore by car, although air-con was a must even in May. Everybody raves about the Troodos mountains but personally I found the north west coast more beautiful. We ended up surrounded by hundered of goats at one stage.

Nicosia is a must to see the divided city.

The Crystallo apartments we're OK as a base with a good location a short walk to the bars. So no bar noise at all. But it's not on a cul-de-sac and appartments are close to a road which is used as a route into Paphos. I'm used to a cul-de-sac at home so had to use my ear plugs.

All the basics were covered - oven, beds, shower, fridge and the beds were comfortable. The pool is small but more that adequate for numbers accomodated.
Reception is not 24 hour. It literally is just a base.

Libra seem professional - it's our first experience of them.

Booking Cyprus in the first week of May we were skeptical of the weather. However it was very warm ~25 degrees, but windy on the beach.

Apartments were clean and well maintained. Pretty huge for 2 people and excellent cooking facilities. Owned and run by father and son who were very helpful.

Two different beaches were within a 15 min walk from the apatments and both were ok. Coral Bay Beach is definetly the best though, a 70 pence bus ride away.

It was a short walk to Town, although the road was quite scary at night( for 2 single girls!). The nightlife was fairly quiet, it being so early in the season but we could sense it would be good fun in the summer. California Beach Bar was our favourite. With Rainbows and Starsky +Hutch our favourite clubs.

A wide variety of restaurants. THe mexican was yummy and all the rest we tried were good. Leroy's did the best waffle and ice cream in town!

Don't expect a cheap holiday though. Food and drink is as pricey as in the UK.

Would definetly recommend the apartments and resort to all ages.
