"Comfortable place"
Overall Resort Rating:
Beaches here are fabulous. Lovely walk from one town to another along coast. Nice strip of shops and restaurants. Quiet and peaceful.

"great for couples and families "
Overall Resort Rating:
a real surprise. a drive up to ayia napa if you want the nightlife but if you dont then protaras has got lots of bars and nice restaurants to chose from. I would definately say this is for couples and families. lots of watersports on the beach. i would also recommend hiring a car ( so easy to drive as they drive on the same side of the road as us) we did this and it was so worth it. the whole coast line is beautiful and we managed to find a little bay just 15 minutes away with a jetty and a beach that was just full of cypriots - it was a magical spot.

"prortaras great"
Overall Resort Rating:
Really enjoyed my first trip to prortaras even though it is a purpose built resort, taking my 2 grandaughters aged 22 and 10 years seemed very brave to most of my friends but it worked well for us ,would go back again as a family holiday but to a better hotel.

"Tourist haven"
Overall Resort Rating:
Protaras has cash machine/banks, excursion shops, mini/super markets, mini golf, shops, restaurant/bars with varied entertainment all within easy reach and plentiful. Opposite the hotel across the one way street is a road leading down to the beaches! Its only a short walk away to both Protaras main beach and Fig Tree bay. Both have plenty of sunbeds costing between 2.50-4euros each with lots of water-sports to choose from in the clear & calm sea.
Overall I was satisfied with what Protaras had to offer although not an authentic Cypriot town but caters very well to tourists demands.
P.S – If you take a trip to Famagusta AKA Ghost Town please note that taking pictures of the town is forbidden, much to my disappointment! However a trip to Cape Greco is well worth a visit, just to swim in the deep, calm, turquoise sea.

"enjoyable"
Overall Resort Rating:
The Lazy Day Cruise was fantastic and well worth the money we paid which included transfers and lunch. We also had a trip to Fig Tree Bay, beautiful and would recommend this to everyone - gets very busy but is still worth the trip. Plenty of restaurants around this area too for snacks, drinks etc. lot of the beaches charge for umbrellas/sun beds but if you walk a little up the coast, on the new walkway towards protarus, there is a restaurant/cafe with free sun loungers, right by a small beach. There are plenty of water sports available, my husband and daughter spent most of their time snorkelling off the beaches. We took a trip on the yellow boat which was fab, it took you along the coast and to a beautiful bay for swimming, snorkelling or relax in the floats provided. We also took a trip on the red open top bus, best done at the start of your holiday as they point

"Very Good"
Overall Resort Rating:
The resort itself is I think the best in Cyprus. There is plenty of bars and restaurants. A visit to Fig Tree Bay and Pernea Bay is a must. We climbed up to Elios church hard work but work in the long run. The view is spectacular.

"nice resort but expensive food."
Overall Resort Rating:
Capo bay is conveniently located on fig tree bay and there are many shops, bars and restuarants about. It is also facing a doctor which may come in handy. The cost of meals and drinks is high - but Cyprus is not a cheap place to eat out anyway (we spent 80EUR on a burger lunch for 4 adults). I would recommend finding PJs Bakery across from Cheers bar and have your lunch there, the croissants are as big as a dinner plate.

"lovely part of Cyprus"
Overall Resort Rating:
We both love Protaras and have already booked a return holiday for 2010! Protaras has an excellent selection of beeches and the nightlife is great. I would recomend this resort for both families and young couples. The nightlife is great and you will never run out of things to do.

"Wedding Do - Sunrise Beach Hotel"
Overall Resort Rating:
Small resort, centred around one or two main 'strips' - although enough to keep you happy for most things. Heard the trip to Famagusta (The Ghost Town) is worth it (bus not boat though as the boat never gets close enough to see much)

"Protaras"
Overall Resort Rating:
If you like drinking in bars Protaras is for you. As a family we did not find much to do, a couple of Karaoke bars, and the Love Boat had a show on most nights, but we could not get near enough to watch it, we resorted to walking past and watching from outside. Local beers and cocktails can be found at around 2 euros each. Kids cocktails too, Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and Cinderella.

"pernera is quieter than protaras"
Overall Resort Rating:
Pernera is just 15 mins walk from Protaras. There are plenty of pubs and places to eat. I think it's a lot nicer than Protaras, it's certainly quieter.

"british resort"
Overall Resort Rating:
The Resort itself is totally aimed at the English and you cannot escape that. The main beach is spoilt by the sheer number of sun loungers on it. However if you go out and about there are some smaller less crowded sandy and rocky coves that are perfect especially if you enjoy snorkelling. It is also worth hopping on the buses they are 1.50EURO and run about every 20 minutes from the Waterpark in Ayia Napa to Protaras you can get off at any stop. Recommend Nissi Beach and Macronissos beaches. Ayia Napa town is also worth a visit.
