"excellent"
Overall Hotel Rating:
We stayed here for a week back in July last year and booked a superior sea view room. When we walked in the hotel we were initially very impressed as the lobby is gorgeous and very modern. However, when we were shown to our room we were slightly disappointed as it was a bit basic and the decor was old fashioned. The fridge was very cold though and it even had a freezer for ice creams! Our sea view was not great and simply overlooked a car park - the sea being behind that but the hotel refused to move us. The balcony was also tiny i mean you could hardly swing a cat. The normal rooms have much bigger balconies but are in the old part of the building and are a bit sweaty. The breakfast was lovely and the pools are great but my boyfriend was not a fan of having to stay in the one place all week - he likes to move about a bit! beach was lovely but i would rate the beach near grecian park much better (konnos bay) and would recommend a taxi ride there for the day as it is not as crowded and much nicer. The restuarant opposite grecian park is lovely as is a small restaurant opposite capo bay which forms part of apartments - i think its called le parc.

We stayed here for a week back in July last year and booked a superior sea view room. When we walked in the hotel we were initially very impressed as the lobby is gorgeous and very modern. However, when we were shown to our room we were slightly disappointed as it was a bit basic and the decor was old fashioned. Reception area was definately 4* and looked very modern and classy. Stayed on bed and breakfast basis and food was to a good standard. Pool area lovely and ideal for even the smallest of children. Beach towels provided and systems of being allocated a sun bed for duration of stay a good idea - however due to having a car for 3 days, our beds were taken but pool attendant rectified error by providing us another set of beds in a better location. Would definately reccomend this hotel.

my wife and i stayed at the hotel capo bay and enjoyed the place and its friendly staff. only had b&b so cant comment on food apart from breakfast which was nice. BUT. there is only one problem FLYS loads of them annoying you in protaras and in the hotel food area. why they dont spray them i will never know !!!!!. however it didnt stop us enjoying the place and people. beach is lovely and its the best on the island. we had a hire car and drove from one end of the island to the other and didnt find any beach as nice as figtree bay.

"Wonderful Capo Bay"
Overall Hotel Rating:
I've recently just arrived back from a fantastic 11 nights B & B at the Capo Bay Hotel. I went with my partner and our 1 year old boy and we couldn't have chosen a better place to stay. The pool area was fantastic for our son who has just started to walk as the sunbeds are on a grass lawn and not concrete. We chose our sunbeds and parasol when we arrived and the attendant taped a card with our room number and date of leaving on it - it was ours til the end of our stay which was a brilliant idea, no worrying about where we're going to be and it was great because we made friends with people either side of us. The pool bar and staff there were great but the drinks a little pricey.
Our standard room was like brand new and not a bad size to say we had a cot and our pram in there too! We did however have to ask for more hangers (there was only 5 in the wardrobe) which were promptly sent up. I've read a lot about the balcony size on this site so just to confirm: it was the width of the room but only about 4 feet deep - enough for a table and 2 chairs to sit comfortably and have a drink whilst watching the world go by.
The staff were absolutely fabulous especially with our son who had everyone eating out of the palm of his hand! I think that the staff being so nice all the time puts all the guests in a good mood too and everyone seemed so happy and friendly.
The hotel grounds are lovely and the ponds with the carp are especially nice to look at. There is a wedding maybe every other day but this in no way affects your holiday but its nice to have a look - if you're consindering tying the knot its a great place to do it!
You cant get a better location than this hotel!!! Right on the beautiful beach of Fig Tree Bay (try Stavros' water sports) to the back of the hotel and right on the strip with its many restaurants, bars, shops etc etc.
Food at breakfast was great - everything you could expect from full English to smoked salmon and fruit. Omelettes made to your liking in front of you.
If you're not too sure whether to pay that little bit extra for this hotel then take my advice and JUST BOOK IT!!! We had a look at some of the other hotels and apart from the Vrissiana they just weren't a patch on the Capo Bay. We were 50/50 about the Sunrise Beach or the Capo Bay before booking but I'm sooooo glad we went to the Capo.
All in all a fantastic holiday

This hotel was fantastic. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. The hotel was lovely and we had a fantastic junior suite room. The location of the hotel was perfect and a gorgeous sandy beach right by the hotel. Protaras is a lovely place and I would definitely go back there.

"Our family holiday to the Capo Bay Hotel"
Overall Hotel Rating:
This hotel has the nicest grounds and pool i think i have ever seen. The food even though expensive is lovely. There are weddings there almost everyday. The Hotel is right on the beach and right in the centre of the resort. when i saw my room i was gutted, It was so small you had to shimmy round the beds to get to the balcony which was also tiny. The rooms also did not replicate the standards that you see outside. they are old an dtired and in need of decor. In the end we paid to upgrade to a family suite. Which was like a normal sized room but again old and tired and in need of decor. Its a shame because the Hotel is beautiful but you just cannot say the same for the rooms.

Overall Hotel Rating:
felt we had paid for something we didnt get have stayed at this hotellast and this year was really let down, service very poor in the reception of an evening and the pool bar during the was just a waste of space waiting upto twenty minutes to order and 30minutes for the drinks and the food to arrive only one cypriot girl waitress was friendly others very stand offish, breakfast same prblem had to ask for coffee three or four times to be brought either it cold or half empty, lot of wedding parties staying at the hotel which seem to mean that their guests staying at other hotels had fully useof the reserved sunbeds and the breakfast buffett feel this isnt very good security, we booked this hotel because we stayed last august and had a realy good time and service but this year the staff apart from the reception girls where not very helpfulat all, fed up of seeing pool attendents taking backhanders to reserve sunbeds for guests who hadnt arrived but whose friends had and wanted to be seated together because they come each year, was put in a verysmall room with interconecting door to next door which made it very easy tohear what was going on in the next room and what was being said, and i amsure they could hear us to, room very small anddingy, single wardrobewith just room for five coat hangers, piano lobby bar is a joke have three or fourstaff but again not very helpfuland took 15minutes each eveing before we went out to place the order and another ten minutes for the drinks to arrive very expensive 24 euros for two bottles of carlsberg and two tia marias and diet coke, thestaff inthe lobby bar and beach bar dont seem to understand this holiday had cost us a lot of hard earned cash around 2,200.00 english pounds, seems to be a problem with the language barrier here when the cypriots served you they where there on the ball but as every thing else in the life things have changed and not in this case for the better, we have been going to cyprus for twenty years and tend to stay in ayia napa orprotoras will go back next year but not to this hotel, think twice before you book read all the reviews
"Highly Recommended"
Overall Hotel Rating:
I stayed in the Capo Bay Hotel in July with my wife and 2 children. The Hotel was decorated to a high standard and the service was very good.
The food at Breakfast and Evening was excellent, lots of choice and prepared with quality.
Clean towels everyday was very good, but allocated Sunbeds is more trouble than it is worth with a lack of organisation on the part of the Pool Staff. 10 out of the 14 days we arrived to find our allocated Sun Beds re-allocated to someone else.
The other downside is the price of Drinks and Bar Food in the Hotel. Way too high, 4.7 Euro a pint of local produce (Keo) and 18-20 euros for Local produce house wine is too expensive. Don't let this put you off, there is a supermarket within walking distance for drinks. The Hotel is fantastic and I intend to go back again.

"Very Good"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Just come back from 2 weeks in Capo Bay. Had a brill time apart from 4 days where some adult did not put a swim nappy on a child, yes you guessed it poo in the pool, pool closed to be cleaned every time this happened. Rooms cleaned every day and clean towels and bedding. Staff are really friendly there. Protoras is a great family place, no trouble there. Will definetly go there again as this is our second time back. Kids club not very good as the children come and go as they please although you are supposed to sign them out (not good).

"Capo Bay Hotel - Excellent!"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Me and my boyfriend stayed at the Capo Bay Hotel from 15th to 29th June. We had a most enjoyable stay in Protaras and at the Capo Bay Hotel. On first arriving at the hotel, we were very impressed with the new decor of the lobby etc. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis and there was lots of choice of food for breakfast. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. One member of staff, a night time worked by the name of Timothy, was extremely helpful when we left our £300 camera in one of the taxis after a night out in Ayia Napa. He managed to ring the taxi office and get our camera back. He was excellent! We stayed in a junior suite room which was lovely, gorgeous sea view, lovely jacuzzi, a chocolate on your pillow every night, etc. The Protaras strip in itself was very nice, nice bars, our favourite was Fools & Horses which served excellent cocktails. Our favourite restaurant was The Corner Restaurant whereby we dined at 4/5 times. Very nice meals and quick service. On a bad note, one restaurant we went to called Il Basilico was terrible. The food was awful, burnt meat and hard vegetables and the manager was awful and threatened to slit my boyfriend's throat when we complained about our meals. DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT!!!!

"Capo Bay Hotel review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
HOLIDAY COMPANY – ARGO HOLIDAYS (FLIGHT – EXCEL AIRWAYS)
I didnÂ’t once see a rep, although I didnÂ’t need to at any point. We had a good flight in general, only was stressful for us because keeping a 3 year and 18 month old occupied for 4 and a bit hours isn't easy. We had no delays which was good.
RESORT
I enjoyed staying in Protaras and I found that there were plenty of restaurants and bars which catered for children, so very family orientated. I must admit that if you prefer a more quiet and sightseeing holiday Protaras is not for you. It is much more English and commercialised which I donÂ’t mind too much as for me on holiday I like to RELAX, PLAY WITH MY CHILDREN, SUN, SEA, SAND, NICE MEALS AND ALCHOHOL.
We ate in quite a few restaurants and I found the food good in most places except for the Chinese restaurants (there are two and out of our group there wasnÂ’t a good comment on either of them). The restaurant which I canÂ’t remember the name of, situated on the corner of the Capo Bay opposite the Love Boat was very nice and great for families. Diva restaurant was also excellent food and also great for families.
HOTEL
Location The Capo Bay hotel I feel is the best located hotel in Protaras. You are right on top of Fig Tree bay which is a beautiful beach - the only problem is the beach was extremely busy even is September so it must be packed solid in July and August. As the hotel was just a stones throw from the beach you could just pop there for an hour or two at a time and you didnÂ’t have to plan to go to the beach for a whole day. You are also very close to the strip which is full of restaurants and bars.
Rooms This is where the hotel let it down for me. I went to Protaras to get married and because we already have two small children I booked what was called a SUPERIOR FAMILY ROOM, they should not by any means have described it as this. We were extremely disappointed on arrival in our room. It was far too small for two adults and two children. We had a wonderful very large bed, but it took up most of the room and two chairs which folded down into single beds, once these were out it hardly left you with any room to move and bearing in mind I was getting married at the hotel and needed to get ready in my room it didnÂ’t give me much space. The room was very basic looking, although the amenities were quite good it just didnÂ’t give any wow factor whatsoever which I had got my hopes up for. I have stayed in nicer rooms for a lot less money. The maids for the rooms were very good.
Hotel in General The hotel could do with a bit of re-modernisation as suits more a 3* rating than 4* although it is very clean inside and out. The staff at the hotel were all very friendly and helpful. The breakfast I could not fault one bit, you had such variety there was definitely something for everyone and it was cooked very well. I only had dinner once at the hotel on our last night which was nice, but we ate out the rest of the time as we were on holiday with such a large group (57 in total) so we met up with different people each night. Past reports complained about dirty ashtrays and the smell of smoke, I am a non-smoker and I didnÂ’t notice a problem at all.
You get allocated sun beds which is good as you keep them for the whole stay so no getting up a fighting for beds. You also get given clean towels everyday for the pool, so no need to take any with you on holiday. The food in the outdoor restaurant (which I ate at lunchtime) was very nice and a lot of it, but more expensive than going for a short walk and eating out in a local restaurant or bar.
Wedding at Capo Bay We got married in the outdoor Gazebo at the Capo Bay and it was lovely. We also had our reception in the outdoor Pavilion which was beautiful and the food was gorgeous which is unusual when catering for large groups. The Pavilion really is a wonderful wedding venue which has a Coy carp pond all around the edge. If you are looking to get married in Cyprus I would suggest using Aphrodite Wedding Services to book your wedding and sort all your arrangements as they are extremely helpful and great at what they do. Much more personal and organised than using your travel agent to book your wedding (www.marriageincyprus.com).
"Capo Bay Hotel review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
We have just returned from a fabulous 2 weeks at the Capo Bay Hotel.
The transfer time to the hotel is about an hour with several 'drop-offs' on the way. This was our 3rd holiday to Cyprus and we are never disappointed. The hotel was very clean and well kept. The staff were very polite and helpful. We had a partial Sea View room, that was clean and well furnished, although a little too much furniture if you have a 3rd bed to contend with, but this was not a real problem.
All rooms have air-con and hair dryers. We went on bed and breakfast, the chioce is vast and caters for everyone. The real joy of this holiday is that you are given sunbeds and umbrellas and theses are yours for the entire holiday. (no getting up and putting your towels down). The towels are also supplied by the hotel to use by the pool and you can have clean ones whenever you need them.
The hotel is only a stones throw from the main shops, bars and resturants and beach. There are absolutely loads of places to drink, eat and enjoy yourself. We enjoyed the Diva resturant, the love boat and best of all The cinnamon Irish bar. Our friends were married at the hotel. They were over the moon with their reception, and the consideration the hotel gave. We were a party of 19, 9 of them children. They loved the pool and the water sports and also the games room, when the weather got a little hotter. 11 of us have already booked to go back next year.
