This was our second visit to Pernera having previously stayed at the Paschalia. We booked in 2007 and by the time the holiday came around it had become our honeymoon, so we had extra reason to hope we had made the right choice of hotel. Fortunately we had.

First impressions were that the hotel was step up from our last trip. The decor. in the room was more modern, carpets looked quite new and the room was generally clean and fresh.

A fridge was in operation with a key required to lock it - not really necessary we found though unless you have alcohol in it that you fear might walk, and a safe could be hired too. Together this came in at 45 euros for a fortnight.

Throughout our stay rooms were maintained to a high standard, linen was changed regularly with towels the same.

Our room was on the second floor and to the left looked out on to the main pool, with the sea in the background and to the right a smaller pool and grass area. In our sightlines were also two other apartment blocks which I assume are the Anastasia Appts. which are referred to in other reviews.

Looking for a relaxing holiday, we headed for the smaller, and generally quieter pool and latterly the grass area when the pool got a bit busier and nosier. The hotel also has a third pool in the basement which was pretty good too.

We were booked on a Bed & Breakfast basis and outwith breakfast made use of the restaurant only once for lunch on our first day. This came in at about 18 euros though the hotel offered a buffet for 10 euros per person. It was decent enough but generally we eat heartily enough at breakfast that a baguette from a local shop sufficed for lunch.

Breakfast offered a fair bit of variety between cereals, breads, and your fry up goodies and were thoroughly enjoyable with supplies re-stocked right up until 10am closing time.

There were ofcourse some downsides - the walls in the room being thin enough to hear the couple next door talk/argue/watch tv/have rumpy pumpy at high volume. The reception area could also get quite smokey with smoking laws differing from home.

We heard from two separate other holidaymakers that the hotel will close after the season for a refurbishment, which came as a wee bit of a surprise given it looked in pretty good nick as it stood. We will certainly look to return to the Anastasia again.

We were lucky to land in Pernera on our previous visit and had no hesitation in returning. We love the fact its detached from Protaras meaning its quieter but still within easy reach, yet still has enough going on to keep you relaxed and well fed and watere...

This hotel is not up to usual cypriot 4star standards it is looking shabby in parts and needs bringing back up to standard. We were on bed and breakfast and the breakfast was good, but speaking to people that were on half board and all inclusive a lot weren't very happy.

The staff were on the whole frindly and helpful with excellent english. I don't know if we were particularly unlucky with our room but we were having to get maintenance to get us in every other day when the card would not work, and on another occassin we could not get into the safe.

We have stayed in lots of differernt hotels in cyprus over the years and this is is lowest standard we have ever encountered, we have been in 3stars that have been better.

Just returned from a week all inclusive (to attend my son's wedding) from this lovely Hotel, after some of the reports I had read after he had booked it I was a little anxious, but all this disappeared as soon as we entered the Hotel.

The accomadation was excellent, my only concern was that our 18yr old daughter was in the same room and her bed was like a camp bed as they had her down as a child, but it was soon remedied.

The food in the hotel is mainly what you expect buffet style but the choice was fabulous, especially the carvery, but I would also recommend the bar snacks in between, these were cooked to order and you could have anything from burgers to pizzas.

The rooms are comfortable and the air-con was excellent, the bathrooms are very high quality and the maids are great.

The daytime and evening entertainment aren't up to much but that was the only downside.

The staff are mainly Eastern European are excellent, the place was spotless and they couldn't do enough for you, if you fancied sitting at the pool all day they would serve you at your sunbeds so you don't need to move all day if you didn't want to. However my wife and I prefer the beach, although it is a little rocky in areas there is plenty to do, especially if you like snorkelling and water sports, the beach was about 50 m away from the front of the hotel so you could walk up and get as many drinks and snacks as possible and take them back down. If you fancied a nicer beach just walk 500m around the coast and you are at the main beach of Protaras.

If you go don't bother taking beach towels as these are provided free for all-in or a CY£5 deposit and can be changed daily if required.

There are supermarkets and a few bars opposite the hotel if you fancied a change of scenery.

I would definitely go back again and thoroughly recommend it.

The hotel was good, very clean and staff very friendly, food excellent plenty on offer both through the day and evening, restaurant very good, if you want a treat go directly to the fish restaurant opposite fabulous food and W.O.W factor.

The drinks on all inclusive are very poor quality and very bland lager on offer- if you want a good drink try the bars up the road- full size snooker table in one which is novel.

Don't be fooled by mini-bar in rooms they are empty and if you want a drink in your room you have to fill up the fridge from super-market across the road, not very all inclusive.

The Pool was verrrry cold but it was October,

Over all we had a good holiday but the cost of holiday was very expensive as for all inclusive this holiday is not...

repeat NOT all inclusive,

top shelf pay for drinks-

bottom shelf poor quality,

beers on draught after 3 days undrinkable Budweiser from fridge pay for....

Enjoy this place if with kids as plenty for them to do and entertainment is ideal for families.
