frist class hotel , the hotel is in pague 1 but is slightly out from the centre of prague , no worries as 2 stops on the underground (very cheap) to the old town) . the breakfast at the HILTONis first class as it is a hot buffet with plenty of choice. the rooms were a great size with a mini bar tv and phone , only problem with the coffee and tea bags in your room you had to pay for them , so bring you own. would go back to the HILTON again we booked with scotiatravel com from glasgow 3 nights + flights 239 pounds

Superb accomodation including breakfast and 3 nights, about 20 mins from airport in Taxi = £20, as you enter the hotel just stop and take in the view, really is impressive, rooms fairly large and ask for rooms overlooking the river, in town 3/4 course meals and drinks for us all cost around £7.50 each. tube very cheap and clean, tube about 400 metres from hotel, you can walk to town centre in 10mins, you must do the 1 hour tour by small train * 3 open carriages, best way to view the city.
We will probably go back to see the rest of this beautiful city in the near future.

Long weekend spent in Prague staying at the Hilton which was much better than we expected. Its certainly worth its 5* rating as it has everything you could want in a hotel. Only downside is that its positioned outwith the central area next to a fairly rundown residential area. New buildings and construction around the hotel shield the views.
Flights direct from Edinburgh with CSA with attentive staff and good inflight food.

A 10 minute walk takes you to the Municipal Building/Powder Tower and after that you are into the main central area. Beautiful buildings, squares and shopping areas are contained within this area. Don't forget to wander down the alleyways as well as there are some wonderful pubs, restaurants and shops to be found in the unlikeliest of places.

Most western chain fast food establishments available but Starbucks would struggle to survive here as the coffees in the local cafes are a fraction of the cost and excellent quality.
Quality food is available to suit all tastes and budgets.
Bar at the Hotel U Zlateho, 6 Karlova, serves excellent cheap food with cocktails £1-£2.
Reykjavic Restaurant, 20/180 Karlova serves great seafood (fish soup is excellent) as well as steaks/pork. Meal for 2 £20-£30.
Pravda, 17 Parizska, trendy eaterie a bit further up the price scale but an experience in itself. Excellent scallops and venison. Meal for 2 £50 - £75.

Coffees and drinks (50cl measures for spirits)magnificent value at the cafe in Galerie U Prstenu, 14 Jilska and also at the cafe in The Gallery of Decorative Art, Listopadu amongst many others to be found.
Jewish district is the most afluent and has the designer shops/restaurants and well worth a few hours to wander.
Old Town Square is the bustling tourist centre and has numerous cafes, bars and restaurants to compliment the surrounding historic buildings.

Wensceslas Square is a disappointment with its modern store fronts, chain stores (MandS, Next, Zara etc), 'dodgy geezers' trying to exchange currency on the street and a magnet for the stag parties when it gets dark.
As for transport, other than a taxi from the airport (used Airport Cars desk in terminal Czk650 to hotel, 20% discount on return journey) everything is within walking distance so take a pair of comfy shoes.

Overall Prague is an excellent venue for a long weekend and once visited you'll want to return again once you have found your way about.
