This hotel is excellent. We went in September for a few days, but unfortunately had to return after one night due to a family bereavement. The staff could not do enough for us, contacting our Rep immediately and helping in any way they could. We had just ordered a meal when we got the phone call to go back to UK and the restaurant staff
immediately asked what they could do to help and waived any cost of the drinks we were drinking and even sought us out about an hour later to wish us well. The overall service is excellent there - the rooms both Nile View and City View are excellent. We went back eight weeks later as the service was so good and were even remembered by some of the staff.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to explore Cairo. It is right next to the museum (don't pre-book a trip - it's only a few pounds to get in but go early in the morning or late afternooon to avoid the tour groups) There is an excellent Tourist Centre within the hotel with which we took trips to the Pyramids and the Citadel. Well worth a visit.
The food is excellent and the pool heated in winter.
I can also recommend Egypt Air, again they were excellent and flew us home at no extra cost when needed and fastracked us through the airport. There is also alot more legroom than on some other scheduled and chartered flights.
