I have travelled to many countries but Egypt is one I will not be returning to.If you go to Luxor I reccomend that two femails do not go alone. I was frightened and intimidated and leaving the hotel after 5pm was a definate no no. The hotel and staff were outstanding but apart from the organised trips we were confined to our pool or room. Despite what the reviews say NO is not always accepted however forcefully said. I spent 3 days trying to find a return flight to England from day 4, unsuccessfully. We tried to make the most of the holiday and saw some fantastic sights but I will not be returning.
On one occassion, before we knew better ,we went to the souk at about 6 in the evening. We ended up being surrounded by a group of 8 to 10 locals who would not leave us alone, trying to touch us etc. Charlotte was crying and eventually the local police came to our rescue. We were modestly dressed, our only crime was thet Charlotte had blonde hair.
