Egypt. A strange experience with customs some western visitors may not be accustomed to, but should nevertheless experience at least once. For us- we can't get back there quick enough.

Nuweiba Village is a pleasant hotel with air con rooms dotted throughout well manicured gardens. The staff could not be more helpful. Cleanliness is first class, from your room thoughout the hotel and right to the edge of the crystal clear water.This is not a place to visit if you need a busy nightlife. This is a haven in which to RELAX and CHILL OUT.

When we visited in early Sept there was never any problem finding your empty stretch of the private beach.

Venture outside the hotel into the 'city' and it's a big step back in time, but the natives are friendly and you will be made very welcome everywhere.Make the time to visit the Tarabien village, half hour stroll along the beach, to really unwind and waste your time doing absolutely nothing.

We have never felt so totaly refreshed as we did on arriving home fron Nuweiba. Infact we are reluctant to say more incase others visit and disturb the peace.After all we don't want to encourage Europeans with beach towels.....

The beach at the hotel is the best in the area, coral reef just off the shoreline, shallow water for the most great for kids, mind the Lion fish. Rooms OK, little bugalow things with A/C (needed in August) Tip the room guy a couple of dollors (yes $) a day and it will be spotless.

Do not pay the £8 Egyption that the hotel want for bottled water, walk up the drive, turn left and go the the Swiss supermarket get it for £1.50E, if you buy a couple of cases from him (speaks good English) he will deliver for you for £2 to £3E (20 to 30p English) Food = buffet but lots of options, ask for the special one night,it cost £100E each but is worth every penny (£10 English) carvings in resturant good, take camara. Beach bar great have the chicken fingers (wish I could get them in England) DO NOT DRINK THE WATER FROM THE TAPS, brush your teeth in bottled water as well, DRINK LOTS OF WATER or you will be ill. Take factor 30 for kids, and self for 1st day or so.

The evening entertainment is very poor, with one exception, the spinning man, HOW he does it I dont know, but if you miss the rest you must see him!

Go to the Moses mountain, but take the tour offered in the hotel reception not the one offered by the rep, the 3 hour cross mountain at night by torch light trek is for VERY FIT only, go by camel everyone else there does! BUT GO.
Do not pay the 1st price you are told in ANY shop or taxi (jeep with no doors or 505 Peugeot) shops are about 10 mins away go anytime but not noon (to hot)loads of bargains to be had if you haggle. See George in the hotel shops, he is the best kept secrect in the hotel, talk to him about what you want, tell him your children will cry if he does not give you a good price (joke we had with him.
GREAT PLACE WOULD GO BACK.
