Snorkelling is fantastic here, and if you dive its amazing.

The hotel we found was very clean, the staff at this hotel work very hard, we were impressed to see so many gardners, cleaners and house keeping staff, and all so friendly. The staff in the dining room are fantastic at this hotel, so helpful and friendly, a...
Weather great and a fantastic holiday for the money. The trip to Cairo was worthwhile but very long and very hot. We travelled on the plane - I would have hated it if we had spent 7 hours each way on the coach.(45 minutes on plane was breeze). Quad biking i...

Staff are extremely helpful and polite. If you are friendly they are friendly back. Unfortunately the Russians are very bad mannered. Main restaurant was okay, plenty to choose from with a different international cuisine available each night. Can get busy...

Sharm El Sheikh is a vipers' nest of ruthless traders. They are rude, aggressive and dishonest. They have ruined what should be a beautiful resort. It is almost impossible to enjoy a walk around the resort's many shops and markets without being hassled. The traders block your path and some even lay their filthy hands on you. I was tempted to chin some of them on more than one occasion!
Never hail a taxi. The taxi drivers are worse than the traders. If you need a cab, just start walking in the direction you want to go. A taxi will beep and pull up before you get 5 yards. Agree your fare before you get in. Don't pay more than 30LE for the trip the Naama Bay and always have the right money because you won't get change if you hand over a 50LE note. As for the journey in the cab, close your eyes and put your seat belt on.
Because of the disgraceful traders, we spent very little time exploring Sharm. Most of our time was spent on the beach and exploring the beautiful coral reefs. You have got to see the fish and corals to believe how amazing they are. I'm not a strong swimmer but with a decent mask, snorkel & fins I had no difficulty floating around for an hours in the crystal clear water, marveling at the amazing variety tropical fish. THERE ARE NO DANGEROUS SHARKS - THE ONLY DANGEROUS SHARKS ARE IN THE MARKET.
I enjoyed my holiday but I won't be returning to Sharm. My advice is, unless you intend to go diving or snorkelling, avoid Sharm El Sheikh like the plague. One final tip: If you do go to Sharm, take a disinfectant hand spray with you and ALWAYS use it after you have handled the local money or you WILL get the squits.
The Iberotel Palace is located in old Sharm. It has a decent private beach and the nearby coral reefs are nothing short of breath-taking. A free boat service will drop you off at a jetty about 3 minutes away across the bay. It runs every half hour. The ro...
Really relaxed location, no real hassle from anyone, very hot and the beach was never crowded, more than enough sun beds and shades, nice and quite, refreshments ranging from soft drinks to cocktails always anailable (even on the beach).
