Laguna Vista.
So good we went there twice.
See my previous rating for august 2006.
Standards are as high as ever.
If you find problems with this hotel you're the miserable type who find fault with anything.
I cannot rate it high enough.

Hotel fabulous pictures in brochure do not do it justice. We upgraded to a chalet in garden which was well worth the extra. The hotel was absolutely spotlessly clean. The grounds and gardens and hotel and our chalet were emaculate. Going in january i did not know what to expect with the weather but it was bikini weather everyday wall to wall sunshine not a cloud.Got dark about 5.30pm and needed a cardi for evenings. The only down side was that the pools were too cold to go in, nobody used them, the sea was warmer and we went in everyday off the jetty.

The food was good, steak, chicken, fish etc.cakes to die for, lunch times we used the open restaurant down by the beach called 'which way restaurant'still AI which was surrounded by the lazy river and very pretty. We never bothered going to the du du italian restaurant (you get a voucher to eat here once free) as we were told it was a set menu.one dissapointing fact was wine was only free with meals not at the bar, only spirits, beer soft drinks and coffee (coffee was very good).

One upset which we thought was bad was when we arrived at 10pm (landed on time so hotel were expecting us)were told that there was no food avaliable and after flying at 2pm and only having a flight meal some people were hungry,so we only had 6 nights AI not 7. Some people had booked the superior rooms with access off your balcony straight into the pool, but were dissapointed as the pool was too cold to use and a lot of these rooms were in the shade all day.

We used the courtessy bus to naama bay which has to be booked in advance, took half hour, loved looking round shops as nabq bay is still been built and has no shops only ones belonging to hotel. Went on trip to st catherines monastry and saw mosses burning bush (not religious but just wanted to see the sinai mountains). It was a very good day out.

Also did the arabian night evening out, that was not to be missed, coach took us out into the desert had food, show, camel riding and pipe smoking, and star gazing to end the evening.Do tip the cleaner on the first day, we gave him a £5 and as they earn only £40 a month he could not do enough for us.Shower gel, soap and tissues in room and beach towells clean everyday.Hair dryer in bathroom only good enough for drying hair not blow drying.we took a travel kettle as no facility for making drinks in room and i like a cup of tea while getting ready in a morning. Nabq bay is still been developed and new shopping centres were been built opposite hotel but not finished yet. The only entertainment at night was a lady playing piano in lobby and the disco on the beach,so everyone just sits in lobby at night drinking,so it could get a bit boring, one night they had kareoki in the cave bar but was told by somebody after it was all in italian and you had to pay for drinks in cave bar. The hotel was full of italians and loads of russians, minority were english but it is i think the best hotel in nabq bay.Security was ace, no one can get into sharm without going through a road block, and guards at the entrance of hotel, i felt quite safe.

Would love to go back next jan for some winter sun, but it would have been better been nearer naama bay for something to do at night. Off to bitez turkey again in july.

we have just returned from awk at the laguna vista.

The reception is excellent the reception staff are very good, you have to leave your bags outside and reception will give you stickers with your room number on to put on your luggage, if you are outside in the grounds its quite difficult to find where you are going, as it goes dark at 5ish.We had a deluxe chalet which was very nice the bed is huge my daughter had her own space upstairs but unfortunately this did nt last long as we were woken up at 1in the morning with a disco blaring i rang reception and they said it would finish at 2 30 so after that we got moved in to the hotel, so if you are outside you will need earplugs. The weather for jan was excellent. Not every where is all inclusive as stated in the brochure. The main pool is closed as they are repainting it but the water in the pools are ice cold anyway so you wont be in them for long. The loungers on the beach are the best as the cushions are lovely to lay on.

Now the comments on the food main restaurant the staff are all nice and helpful but the food is mostly luke warm we never had a hot meal the whole wk we were there, The every which way restaurant is in the grounds but you will be joined by lots of birds who peck at the deserts and bread only went once food cold as well. please take tablets for a bad stomach as believe me how ever pickey you are you will still get it, my husband was laid up in bed for one day and a wk later at home he is still having problems, We would nt go again as the food was the main downer.

ps if you are thinking of going on a trip we did the jeep safari it was excellent but you must take small notes for tipping as as soon as you have finished your camel ride they will expect money per person. hotel and grounds 5* food 3*

Like other reviews when you arrive in reception you just say WOW, the place is amazing. We found the whole hotel kept spotlessly clean as was our room. The room was huge. The food in the resturaunt was very good and didnt have problem finding something to eat every night. Our waiter Mostafa could not have been more attentive, table waiting and drinks on the table before we got back to table with meal. Would recommend this hotel to anyone. The only down side to the holiday was going into Naama Bay, the hastle was terrible and that is from someone used to going to Turkey.
