Hotel best weve stayed in. Hotel staff very friendly. I went with my friend we are two females early 20s and would advise against it.When we went out in the evening we were called all sorts of names, and it was very frightening. The men scared us so much that we stayed in the hotel at night as we didnt feel safe in the town.So ou advise is dont go as an all female group.

We have just returned from this amazing hotel, after reading all the other reviews we had high expectations and were not disapointed.

We were staying in the Beach side of the hotel close to the pool, Beach etc. The room was spacious, immaculate with the quietest room and comfiest bed I have ever had on a holiday. We did meet a couple who stayed in the Sports side and they complained that were woken each morning with the calls for prayer so if you get a choice do not choose sports side. The pool was lovely and warm and again very clean. You received clean towels each day for Beach and or pool so you dont need to take any with you unless planning on going on any boat trips.

The Beach was lovely with Ice cold towells being offered on a regular basis very much needed when it is 45+ each day as it is at the moment. We booked 3 trips through a local tour operator on the main strip - much cheaper than the reps prices and you will find that they are the exact same trips anyway.

We did a jeep safari which was a trip through the desert, a camel ride and finished of with snorkelling in the Blue hole Dhab where we were fed a lovely lunch. We also did a trip to Ras mahammed which was a boat trip with 3 stops for snorkelling - The best snorkelling you can get - again fed a lovely lunch. The final trip we did was the Quad bikes, If you do this then choose the early evening time slot so that you get to see the sunset - this was a lot of fun but you do need a tea towel(sic) for your face to keep the dust out which you can buy very cheap in town.

As per prev comments you do get hassled going through town but we found if you bother to learn a couple of words the eygptians love it and you can have a laugh with them and they do remember you day to day so can get some banter going. The italian at the hotel is as good as stated in previous reviews and only about £25 for 2 meals and drinks we went there twice. Give the hard rock a miss ( same world over) and go upstairs to a authentic Eygyption restaurant very good food. Make sure you take some immodium as althouigh neither of us felt ill did have diahorea although the immodium soon sorted it out but we were very glad we took it.

All in all a fantastic holiday with lots to do and see if you are in to Beach holidays or snorkelling this is the one for you.

Arrived back last night, well I booked this hotel after reading the reviews of previous holiday makers.it is a 5* It was an excellent location and we did pay a lot of money for this holiday. We went for a wind down and I booked it to corresponde with our birthdays.

The transfer to our Hotel took only about 20-25 mins after dropping a few more people off the Egyptian rep was very charming. Walked into the reception were staff were very formal. we were taken to our room in a golf/beach buggy. The room was excellent, spacious, very clean and large beds.A balcony with two chairs a sunlounger, table and parasol. Its the best nights sleep ever in all the times I have been on holiday, wish I could have brought that bed home.Air conditioning very good but you could NOT leave it on all night as it was too noisy, when we landed it was 39 degrees.

We unpacked and showered and went for a tour round, it was about 10.00pm.I called the walk from our room to the OUTSIDE ";Marble Avenue, it was spotless and the gardens were loveley.
The security was very tight and the security guards were all very pleasant and courteous.
you have to walk through security frames when leaving and entering the hotel.
We had a look at the beach which was shut obviously due to the time. We started to walk down a (main Strip)on the beach front, this is when it started. Nothing but hassle, hassle, hassle, now dont get me wrong we usually holiday in Turkey and they can hassle as good as any, but the Egytpians have a sort of bullying and threatening attitude. If you tried to ignore them they walked with you if you looked and said no thank you they clicked then that you were English and ";were you from? Let me ask you a question? Through out the holiday as soon as we left our hotel grounds it was a complete and uter nightmare.

We went to hard rock cafe which had been recommended on site, it was excellent value, you got loads of food and very good if you like hard rock.Security frames again as you entered.
We went to the Tavern which we were told was the only English bar there, (it is not). This is ok if you like oasis think the English DJ had some sort of fetish with the band, think he was English he never spoke.
Asked for some music but he never played it, there was no crack if you get my meaning, no buzz.We went in there when Man utd were playing Chelsea, they opened a roof terrace up which was a last minute panic for them, dont know why,the match must have been planned, plenty of time to prepare. The roof terrace can only be described as a garage repair work shop, there was all sorts of items on the wall oil containers, machanical things on the floor. Staff proceded to carry a portable tv out side for more people to view the match. The toilets of which there were two one was dirty one didnt flush (you can imagine)and the bin was over flowing. Didnt go back after that. There also a shop opp on the corner, clothes shoes, I bought a pair of shoes, took them back after two days hadnt worn them and asked to change the size, the guy there was a little argumentative and said ";I dont think you bought these from here, you will have to come back when I am not so busy"; There was only one customer there. Needless to say didnt go back.

The other English bar was the Camel bar opp Cattaract hotel, very good, played a variety of music and there were monkey nuts in containers on every table. Went to the toilet to be asked by an Enlish woman to wait for ";two minutes please"; she called an Egyptian lad over who went into the toilet cleaned them, emptied the bins and completed a log report which was on the back of the door, excellent. We called in there for the rest of the holiday.
The food in the resort was very good, read some comments about iffy tummies but we were ok.
The beach was gorgeous and the fish were stunning, never seen anything like it.
We walked along the beach front one mid morning and put our mp3 players hoping that would stop the hassling, one of the restauant guys went up to my husband and tried to pull the ear plugs out of his ears.
Went to the Duty free shop and we were continually harrased by one guy, he asked me if I had a passport, I looked puzzled at him, he said ";You English you need a passport for two days to walk round here";.
The hotel staff in the restaurant were like robots, no facial expressions at all, felt they were under a lot of pressure to keep busy.

The reception staff were as miserable as hell.Called in on night to regain ourselves having been bombarded yet again. The reception was empty, there were four members of staff there and every ashtray had cigarettes in them.
This hotel caters for mainly Rusian tourist, there were hardly any English there. It was like going to a wake every morning for breakfast, everyone so miserable.
The food was very good and choices excellent. There were no signs though to say if certain parts in the reastaurant were for non smokers, so you would find yourself having breakfast and then someone on the next table lighting up.
We went over to the Casino one night which was on the opp side of the road. It was like crossing the East Lancs, but with no traffic lights, you had to put your foot on the road to cross and dice with death. Taxi shouting out all the time.

You need your passport for the Casino and also they DO NOT take Egyptian currency, the drinks were free.
On our last day we asked if we could keep our room on until 2.00pm, which the reception staff said yes that would be ok, at no extra charge. We were due to leave at 2.25pm. I called reception twice for them to pick our cases, twice they said yes and ";have a nice day";. No one came, we walked up ";Marble Avenue"; with our cases, no apologys from reception staff or the Egyptian rep who said ";we thought you had got a taxi to the airport";.
Over all excellent accomodation ideal location for beach and shops.
But Egyptians in general don't like the English.

As there aren't that many reviews of the Jolie Ville Golf Resort on here, I thought I ought to add my families thoughts on our week in Sharm.

Firstly, this was our first visit to Egypt and although we have friends who have been and told us all about it, there no substitute for experiencing it first hand!

Unfortunately, we were delayed for several hours at Gatwick, which meant that we didn't arrive at the hotel until after dark rather than the expected mid-afternoon, so missed out on a couple of hours exploration and pool action.

We were taken by a porter to our room on a golf buggy (kids thought this was 'way cool'!) only to find that we had been given a courtyard-view room. This was soon rectified with a quick phone call by the porter and a return to Reception to collect a key for our pool-view room (I would certainly recommend paying the extra for this as the courtyard is a bit barren and soulless). The room itself was a good size for all 4 of us, even with 2 single beds as well as a double put-you-up. It was cleaned and tidied every day and we had no complaints whatsoever about that (although we did have to ask for flannels and milk on one occasion - this was delivered within 10 minutes, along with a potted plant to say sorry!)

The breakfast is a typical buffet affair, with the usual hot food, omelettes, rolls, fruit, toast etc. that you find anywhere. Perfectly passable in our opinion.

There are two main pools - the first is in the main section of the hotel and gently slopes down to a deeper bit (neck high on me and I am 6'2";) where there are 2 water chutes and the lazy river that meanders round the grounds. The shallow part is perfectly safe for youngsters who can't swim, although you will need to keep an eye on them in case they stray into the deeper bit and don't have armbands on. There was always an Lifeguard on duty keeping an things and I did hear that he pulled a young Egyptian boy out who wasn't being watched. The other pool is adjacent to the Royal Wing - we only went there once and found it quite windy. They have some play stuff for kids over, sort of a water based climbing frame, where they could turn jets of water on and off.

If you decide to use the main pool, make sure you put your towels out early if you want to be 'front row' - we found that if you were much after 7.30am, then you would struggle to get a prime position so that you could see the children (you get credit cards that you can exchange for towels and then return each evening).

The pool BBQ was pretty good, with a selection of very acceptable food that you could choose to eat either at the tables or on your sunbeds. Choices inclused pizzas, bugers, tuna salads etc and they have a separate kids menu, hidden under a jigsaw puzzle. Lunch for 2 adults and 2 kids with a drink each was about £15-£20, which you can charge to the room and pay at the end of your stay.

We opted for half-board and thought we may have made a mistake as for the first 2 nights dinner wasn't that great but it picked up from Tuesday onwards and again, it was perfectly acceptable.

There is also a Chinese restaurant - unfortunately, our kids don't like it so we never got the chance to find out if it tasted as good as it looked.

Nor did we try the Bistro, as the menu looked pretty similar to the buffet. I'm sure we would have tried it if we had been BandB.

The Ascot Bar tended to be used by the golfers but it was never that busy and getting served wasn't a problem.

The 'beach' area would be tricky to reach if you have limited mobility as there are quite a few steps to negotiate. Plenty of people were snorkelling off one of the jetty's and there is also a Dive Centre where you can hire snorkel, mask and fins. I used it to do a scuba refresher course and found it to be excellent. It is run by a company called Subex and I also used them to book a day's boat diving around Naama Bay, which was magnificent - thoroughly recommended if you are qualified.

Without a doubt, the best part was the Animation team - they are on the go from 10am to goodness knows when! They entertain the kids and adults with a boundless enthusiasm. For the grown-ups there is morning stretching, aquarobics, water polo, water volleyball, tables tennis tournaments etc etc. For the kids, there is the Snoopy Club with plenty of stuff to play with and they also do a mini-disco by the pool every morning, as well as hoopla competitions and much more besides.

We only ventured in Naama Bay (on the hotel's courtesy bus) as a family once - we went late afternoon, at about 4pm, and were hassled by the locals non-stop from the top of the drag down to the harbour. You have to be polite but very firm with them. More than once we ended up just walking off to get away. I did go back on my own after sundown on the last night, to get a few bits and didn't get approached once!!

So to summarise, we had a wonderful first visit to Egypt and would most certainly go back to the Jolie Ville Golf Resort, even though we felt that the 5* rating was a little on the optimistic side. We think 4* would be more suitable.

This is a wonderful hotel, the food is very good, the staff are so friendly and it's right on the beach and so close to Naama Bay and yet not noisy. I think most points have been covered in other reviews, but here are a few details I would have liked before I went. ( to save room in the suitcase)
There is a kettle, mugs and spoons in the room, but no coffee, tea, sugar. In the bathroom there is shampoo, shower gel, body lotion, tissues, shower cap and a hairdryer.
In the room there is a fridge, TV and a free safe that you put your own code in (much better than fiddling around with keys!)
I think the best blocks are the odd number ones as they are furthest from the road and also upstairs gets the sun later in the evening, especially in Winter. The higher number the block is the further it is from the pool, but golf buggies run round and you can flag them down for a lift, they will take you to right to your door!
This was our second visit to Sharm, last year we went to Hilton Dreams, which was very nice, but on the wrong side of that horrendous road and the food was not so good.
We loved this hotel so much we have already booked for next year to stay a week after a Red Sea Cruise.
