We stayed a week at the Radisson SAS at the beginning of September. The hotel was amazing and we had a brilliant time. The rooms are spotless and spaced out in small villa-like buildings. The pools are big in size and always extremely clean. Enough sunbeds to go around, with enough spare to not have to get up at 7am to get one. The beach is also lovely, with a beach bar. The staff are the friendlist I have ever experienced abroad. They truly made our stay that extra bit special. The food isn't fantastic, but its nice enough to eat until you feel full. The starlight dinner night was the highlight of our holiday. Up on the mountains, staff cook traditional egyptian food on a bbq, and you are entertained by egyptian dancers. You can also have a ride on a camel and smoke a shisha pipe. We also did the diving in the red sea, which was also an amazing experience. We are returning to this hotel in a couple of months time, and I would recommend the stay to anyone.
Excellent, chillled out place to go. Lovely people and a feeling of real culture.

there is nothing around the hotel at all. the nearest thing is Waterworld, where you can do diving and boat trips etc, there is a little bus which picks up from the hotel. so although the resort is not any good, the hotel itself is GORGEOUS!! I cant fault it at all. It is one of the best i have been in. it is clean, well spaced out, the pool is a big size with a swim up pool bar! the staff are extremley friendly, always like a chat, especially the bar staff! the hotel has a stunning backdrop with the Sinai mountains. the hotel is on the beach. the food was excellent, always something for everyone. one excusion we did was a day trip to Eilat in Israel. well worth doing, you can swim with dolphins, and you can visit an underwater observatory, you have to walk down 50 steps then you are 6 metres below the sea!
all in all, this was one of the best holidays we have been on. so much so we are thinking of coming back in 4 months! very much a relaxing holiday.

My girlfriend and I have just got back from a weeks holiday in TABA - Egypt staying all inclusive at the Radisson. Before we went I read all the reviews on this website for the Radisson and agree totally with some and disagree totally with others! So here's my review explaining everything as clearly as I can, as my girlfriend and I saw it and experienced it. My gf and I were basically looking for a holiday where we could completely relax and unwind. the Radisson was EXACTLY what we were looking for.
Situated about 10 minutes from Taba Heights (a collection of hotels and from what I heard as we didn't actually go, not a lot more) the Radisson is about a 45 minutes drive through the mountains from Taba Military Airport, which is very basic! The Radisson is very much isolated and is surrounded only by numerous unfinished hotel complexes and a beautiful yet baron surrounding of mountains. So basically, outside the complex there's very little to do or see unless your going on an excursion (which I'll come to shortly). The Egyptians who live locally are EXTREMELY poor and for that reason the security surrounding the hotel complex is quite tight.
The Radisson complex has its own man-made stretch off beach which is a little bit stony, but lovely. On the beach it has a football pitch and a volley ball pitch. There's also a small bar right on the beach. The coral reef runs the full length of the beach (the full length of the red sea coast for that matter!!!) so you may need shoes to get in and out. BUT there is a little jetty that you can walk down which takes you over the coral! If you go to the Radisson. snorkelling is a must! The quantity and variety of fish within the coral is literally breath taking and they swim right up to you!!! Also on the beach is a huge ";Arabic tent";. to be honest with you, I'm not entirely sure what purpose it serves. my girlfriend and I walked down to it on the first night expecting it to be a beach bar and found no one in there except and old Arab lady smoking a big pipe!?!?! Make of that what you will. I think they use it for the hotel BBQ's but in my opinion they could have put it to better use.
The Radisson complex comprises of 5 or 6 blocks of gorgeous apartments separated by lush, beautifully kept gardens and palm trees which are all illuminated at night to wonderful effect. There's an army of little birds (swifts and swallows) that are constantly bouncing around and are very tame and even hopped into our room! Then there's the main body of the Radisson which is made up of the reception, lobby, entertainments room, two restaurants, two bars and a number of small stores. jewellers, money exchange, souvenirs shop and small convenience shop (cigarettes and post cards etc). Out of reception and heading back toward the gates of the Radisson there is another group of small shops. souvenirs and a very limited supermarket. VERY LIMITED. This is an area that definitely requires addressing as the supermarket is literally laughable. A few shelves with random products dotted here and there... nothing refridgerated.
The rooms are generally very nice. Big comfortable beds, cleaned daily, fresh bedding and towels daily, by very friendly staff and we were lucky enough to have our own ocean view and view of the gardens from our room. The rooms have a tv (which has a couple of very decent movie channels), a free safe and a fridge. The rooms are also air-conditioned which is a god send as it got very hot and I'm told it gets much hotter in the Summer. 45c!!!
The pool is gorgeous! Crystal clear and they don't use chlorine to clean it so it doesn't burn your eyes. There's a constant gentle breeze that keeps you cool. The pool bar is great and you can even swim up to it! You will need to get up about 9 o'clock to get a good spot close to the pool. as around 10am is when most guests start swarming for beds. Huge fresh towels are provided daily by the pool so there's no need to bring your own. As well as the main pool which is split into two, there is also a smaller, shallow pool for children.
There's a constant army of workers at the Radisson and on the whole they are extremely friendly and will happily go out of their way to help you in any way they can. BUT I will say that tipping goes a long, long way!!! They don't expect tips and give you a good service anyway, but if you tip you WILL get that little bit extra.
There are 4 bars in the hotel. a tiny one on the beach (open throughout the day until 6), the bar at the pool side (open throughout the day until 6), the hotel bar that is open all day and into the night (all inclusive ends at 11 though) and then there is the ";Somewhere else pub"; which opens at 11 and is basically a nightclub in my opinion. it plays a mix of golden oldies, RandB, dance music and even a little house music! IT'S GREAT!!! My girlfriend and I ended up in there most nights having a dance and both felt it's just what the hotel needed to make it a perfect holiday for us both.
There is also a health club complete with gym, sauna, whirlpool and steam room. we only briefly ventured in here. It looked good though.
There are 3 restaurants in the Radisson complex. one next to the pool that serves lunch throughout the day; BBQ, Pizza, Pasta and various other delicacies to keep you going! The main restaurant, where you can also get lunch, is where you'll eat the majority of your meals. Each day a different theme is the cuisine of the day. for instance, one day it may be Indian, then Mexican, then Egyptian, then Texan and so on. Both myself and my gf found the food at the Radisson OUT OF THIS WORLD! Absolutely gorgeous!!! All 3 meals. FANTASTIC variety and beautiful food! Lets just say neither of us went hungry and both of us came back a couple of pounds heavier! We did hear people moaning about the food and to be honest we were both gob-smacked!!! We both eat out regularly here in Britain and in our opinion thought the food and variety at the Radisson was exceptionally good. AS FOR ";TABA-TUMMY"; I'VE ONE THING TO SAY. DRINK MORE WATER AND FEWER STRONG COCKTAILS!!! Taba tummy. NONSENSE! The whole resort, restaurants and pool are kept impeccably clean!!! There's also an Italian restaurant that's within the complex if you fancy something different, but we were so happy with the variety at the all inclusive restaurant that we never ate there. The one negative I will put forward with regards to the all inclusive restaurant is that it's like feeding time at the zoo sometimes. The Russians aren't as happy to queue as the British, Polish and Egyptians and it can get a little trying at times. but this is only a minor grievance.
The entertainment at the hotel is a little lacklustre. there's a singer in the main bar each evening (the same guy each night) and most nights in the lobby there's some form of entertainment. belly dancers, ";Mr or Miss Radisson"; competitions etc. In the day the recreation team try their hardest to get you involved in volley ball, water aerobics, belly dancing lessons etc. But I do feel that entertainment is an area in which there's room for improvement.
We went with Thomsons and found our Rep Deborah to be very helpful. We booked 3 excursions. The first was a boat trip to a bay where we were to go snorkelling (£38 per person, very expensive in my opinion). but as soon as we arrived we had to turn back due to the Sea becoming very rough... for this we were given a full refund but still got half a day out. We also went Quad riding through the mountains which is a MUST. you can go for one hour which is £35 per person or two hours at £50 per person, once again, very expensive but worthwhile! The third and final trip we went on was to Eilat in Israel. The day included a trip to an aquarium, a trip to a dolphin sanctuary and a trip to Eilat shopping. There's so much I could say about this excursion and because in this post I've already said so much I'll keep it short and sweet. aquarium = good. dolphin sanctuary = great. Eilat = Ok. Crossing the border from Egypt to Israel = AN ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE!!! Talk about completely overkill security. it took nearly 3 HOURS to get across the border. a matter of about 100 ft and we went through 5 security checks, each completely under staffed and completely thorough. THEN AFTER the 3 hour wait they wouldn't let me through the last checkpoint on the Israeli side and kept only me behind for additional security checks!!! The coach party had to on without me and I had to get a lift with a rep to catch up with them later. This trip also cost roughly £65 each after all the additional border taxes they don't clearly tell you about!!!!!!! On the whole it was a pretty good day but I wouldn't do it again and I wouldn't go to Israel again. A trip to the pyramids cost around £180 per person by plane or about £90 I think it was by coach about 6 hours each way. we gave that one a wide birth. On a whole the excursions were very expensive.
To sum up. If your looking for a holiday of pure relaxation. this is for you. If your looking to for a holiday with lots to do locally, steer clear of this resort. We loved it and we WILL be going back as soon as possible. Brilliant holiday for de-stressing. Sorry for this monster post.

We stayed at the Radisson Sas Resort in April 2007 for one week, all inclusive. The hotel including the hotel gardens are spotless. The room service is excellent. The restaurants we had our meals in were self service and there was a good choice of food with specials on every day. The roast duck, carved turkey and roast lamb deserve a special mention.
The complex rises like an oasis out of an otherwise barren landscape and be warned there is no where to go in walking distance of the complex and really nothing to do outside of the complex even in a short drive. We stayed on the complex all the time although if we had been there a fortnight we would have certainly gone on a couple of trips. Jordan is clearly visible across the sea and Israel is only a short trip away. The mountain backdrop to the hotel is magnificent alongside its manicured gardens and beautiful pools.
The temperature when we stayed was in the late twenties, early thirties and we spent most days on the hotels man made private beach. There is a bar on the beach, a restaurant bar just off the beach at the side of the pool where we had our lunch. At night we would have our meal on the second of the two meal settings in the main restaurant and then retire to the balcony bar. The hotel had entertainment on every night we were there.
Service at the bar wasn't the fastest we have seen and at busy times a queue could quite easily build up.
All in all we had a very relaxing holiday in very pleasant surroundings but I would have preferred the location probably not to be so remote.
