Got end of holiday blues driving back from south-west France last week so decided to treat ourselves and have just one more night!! Jumped on the laptop, great web-site www.frenchconnections.co.uk and found a lovely little B & B not far from Le Touquet. Perfect to relax after a long day in the car!
Le Tortillard is a charming farmhouse with converted outbuilding offering 4 accommodation options depending on numbers. We stayed in The Stables and had a very enjoyable romantic evening and rare lye-in! Breakfast was outstanding, featuring all kinds of home-made pastries and breads. Left feeling stuffed!!
All round, a great little hide-away. Off the beaten track but not hard to find with a good map and the French Connections web-site, which I must say was excellent...

You wouldnt think there was much to commend the area around Calais and Boulougne, with its booze warehouses and to be honest quite boring scenery. But drive for a while off the beaten track, and you'll be surprised. Not dissimilar from Kentish countryside,...
