Calvi is stunning, from the citadel overlooking the harbour to the miles of sandy beaches with snow capped mountains in the distance. There is a local train that runs along the coast to L'll Rousse which is a pleasant seaside town. We did two trips, a half day around the hilltop villages and a day trip to Corte and the wonderful Resonica valley, a 15km gorge with inviting rock pools. We ate out every night and did not have a poor meal anywhere. For good value try Chez Christan and Chez Fifi but for a real treat a short walk out of town is U Fanale, the food and above all the presentation is sensational and prices are a little dearer but not outrageous. We went in June,I sure booking would be essential in the high season. A lot of English people staying here, but this is a very French resort, we found it a real paradise.

OverallExcellent Hotel

We've stayed at these apartments twice now (September 07 and May 08) and they are a breath of fresh air - the best we've found of this type anywhere. Not only are all the apartments in gorgeous grounds, but each apartment is individually furnished to a ver...
