Early flight to Calvi leaving 6am, arrived 10am, room not available until 2pm! Room to leave luggage, but nowhere to sit other than round the pool. We were in our travelling clothes, and had no suntan cream etc a very uncomfortable wait. Rep. said it was an ongoing problem. No lift in the hotel and many stairs; no assistance with luggage. Hotel in good position, shops, restaurants and marina easily accessible.
Food in hotel good based on 3days BandB and 4 days HB. Plenty of restaurants to chose from - reasonably priced if go with menu of the day(16-20 e) A la carte more expensive.
Booked and paid for a sea view room, but allocated one with a limited seaview. Asked for a change but only available after one week, then seaview spectacular. Tried to obtain refund from Holiday Options for l week's poor view but not forthcoming. Other people who had not paid extra had better views than us!Some rooms have no balcony, but most have views of some sort.
No public transport and only few taxis. Calvi is quite hilly and could be a problem for some.
No evening entertainment in hotel, but all seem to people-watch by the marina.
Excursions available from rep. but while we were there coaches were not air conditioned, temps. were 30+, very uncomfortable and almost a riot.Local train along the coast but go before 11am as very crowded after that. Boat trips from marina, one to the National Park quite stunning, saw dolphins as a bonus!
Enjoyable holiday, hotel, resort, food etc. Feel after 2 weeks done it all and no need to return to Calvi, will try another part of Corsica. Go before it becomes too touristy!

Breakfast was okay but the evening meal was a work of art on a plate and tasted wonderful too! Most staff spoke some English but outside the hotel you really need at least a basic command of French. We had half board for 4 days then breakfast in the hotel and eating out for 3 days. Though nothing special from the outside, the hotel is spotless and comfortable inside. It is on the edge of the sea and ideally situated for the shops, quay and beach-we would stay there again.
We would highly recommend the Santa Maria restaurant in the square outside the pink and cream Santa Maria church. The location is lovely and two talented local guitarists sit on the church steps providing excellent background music while you eat.
Corsica is a stunning, mountainous island. The scenery is breathtaking and varies from vineyards, beaches, wooded valleys, picturesque villages and towns. The temperature was 35-40deg during our stay, so find accommodation with air-conditioning.
The Corsican drivers are mad! They can spot a tourist a mile off and continually drive as close as possible, gesticulating out of their car windows. They overtake on blind bends and narrow mountain roads.
We travelled all over the island and would suggest a trip to Bonifacio if you can face the drive (about 4 hrs from Calvi on the coast road, 5 through the mountains). Like Calvi it has a citadel, amazing coastal rock formations and a harbour full of yachts that only the rich and famous could afford.
If you shop at the local supermarkets, it's handy to know that they don't provide carrier bags, so take something to hold your shopping.
Should you want to take any alcohol home, buy it before you get to the airport. The local airports are tiny and don't have the sort of duty-free shops that we do. Have a wonderful time! We did!

Hotel
Reception - Pleasant area, friendly staff
Bedrooms - Smallish but clean, with A/C, balcony and views. Larger bedrooms available but depends on allocation, presumably first booked first allocated.
Food - Logis chef and silver service, provides extensive menu, cooking is superb. We also ate in town were meals were comparable. You get French cooking with a Corsican flavour.
Pool - Cleaned every day, large, free sun loungers and snack bar.
Suitable for All except partygoers, and anyone with walking difficulties. Brit tourists generally in 50 plus group, it is genuinely QUIET here. Young back-packers and camping very popular. Weather First 2 days torrential rain, (not usual) afterwards 28°C+
Summary First class resort and Hotel, would definitely go back. A number of fellow holiday makers were repeat visitors. Very friendly residents
