Hotel - Good Reception staff (Engligh speakers too). 24 Hour reception. Excellent cold buffet breakfast served 6.30 - 10,30pm so you can have a lie in if you need it. Very clean room, cleaned every day. No air con, bit noisy at times with windows open.

Transport - BUs leaves airport every 20 mins and cost is about 90p for one hour of travel (you can transfer busses with your ticket too). Trains run frequently and it is easy to get to Antibes, Monaco, Cannes etc.
eating Out - For lunch we usually shared a baguette style sandwich or went to the supermarket (called Casino's) and had a bit of a picnic. At night there is a seemingly endless choice of restaurants. Most have a fixed price menu of around £8 - 10 for a three course meal. We bought wine by the carafe as it was a lot chaeper and nice. OUr star restaurants are:
Le Petit Biche - Really good french food with many choices and lots of daily specials. Lots of locals eat here. The often fetch their dogs to dinner with them. This is all over Nice though and not just this restaurant.
Baguettes D'Argent - Fantastic Vietnamese/ Chinese food. This is the best Chinese food I have ever had. Really delicious dishes. The guy who runs it is really friendly and will show you how to organise your dish, if like us you choose something unkown from the menu and are at a loss of what to do with it in order to eat it.
Le Quai - In Vieux Nice in the flower market. Nice food again and lots of people watching. There is sometimes a singer to entertain you.
Nice overall - A very busy happening city with plenty to do. You must, must go to the Le parc phoenix. This is a fabulous park with formal gardens, childrens gardens, sun dials, water features, a huge indoor aquarium, an insect house (eyes shut for that one), different tropical zones with birds and lizard type things. 2 euros to get in too! The museums are fairly cheap and there are plenty of them. Vieux Nice is really nice, old and quaint with a mixture of bars, food stores, fashion shops and restaurants. Very busy at night.
Great holiday but very hot 34 degrees most days.
