If you are searching for the last paradise on earth, forget the Maldives, Seychelles, Caribbean etc. Polynesia is the true last paradise on earth. It is the only destination I have ever seen which looks better in real life than in brochures (ie Sandals resorts publications). Whilst Bora Bora is described as the ";most beautiful lagoon in the world";, its lesser known sister island Taha'a is even better.

The hotel is the only one situated on a tiny motu (island)and has unsurpassed views of Bora Bora in the distance (especially from the overwater bungalows). It is situated in a turqouise lagoon which has direct access from the overwater bungalows. It is very expensive due to the excellent quality of service and its location. However, it is worthwhile saving for as long as possible to experience Taha'a(as we did for our Honeymoon)as you would not regret it.

A useful tip is to book on a half board basis to cover breakfast and dinner as this proves cost effective. Air New Zealand took us there via Los Angeles and the service and comfort was immaculate, however, prepare for a long 21 hour flight.
