A jewell secluded on an Indian Ocean beach in Reunion Island. Do not expect palm trees, but peace and quiet with very few children and guests who know what they want: aproximate service is not the word. You may spot someone famous people like President Jacques Chirac of France or Charles Aznavour, if you are lucky. Attention to details in all stages of our stay from the warm welcome when you check- in (refreshments and pastries served)to the extremely professional service at the gastronomic restaurant. Tips: book your holiday half board with Nouvelles Frontieres (French tour operator. You will then have the choice of 2 restaurants: buffet (impressive choice of main courses)or the gastronomic restaurant: amazing wine list and surprising association of tastes mixing creole and modern european cuisine.
Accomodation however is not as spotless as the catering side of the hotel, still high above standards.
For a holiday of a lifetime still being in the EEC (Reunion Island is a French ";departement";), there is little time difference, and you will not be jet lagged.
Mauritius is only 45mn away by plane, if you fancy doing nothing at all. Reunion has plenty to discover: mountains, volcano, coral reef, and cheap excellent creole cuisine.
Please do not spread the word too much, Reunion is still very secluded and not as famous as Mauritius, and needs to stay like this. Who wants to see pubs and fish and chips served in the other side of the world?...
