Booked this hotel after securing return flights with Ryanair for £27 each. Paid £23 each bed and breakfast per night and it was nice: 15 mins walk from the old town, the Rhine, shops and the Xmas markets (which don't start till the end of November but I'm sure we would have liked them!!). 1 min from tube station and tram stop taking you to 'the action' in 2 minutes.

We had a 3 bed apartment with a nice kitchen, balcony and bathroom for the 5 of us so cannot comment on the actual 'hotel rooms' but the apartment we had was excellent - free bottles of fizzy wine and water with plenty of tea and coffee in the room too! Did have to ask for a hairdryer through and I expect to have those in a 3* hotel room.

Breakfast very good, with far too much choice to be necessary and no limit on what you could eat. Lovely clean fresh sheets with the biggest single duvet I have ever seen - we weren't cold!!!!. Reception staff very helpful with free umbrellas to use if the weather is inclement (which it was - in spades!) Beware of the 'pavement' restaurants in the old town as they will rip you off for drinks and try the bar called Brolker 9 if you can find it - interesting to say the least. Rhine Tower good to kill an hour or so and you will need to if you are there on a Sunday as everything is shut (except Burger King - Great!).

On the whole a very nice hotel indeed but we felt there are far better destinations for a weekend away than Dusseldorf (although it was more fun than Cork in ireland).
