Stayed here twice now. Feb 2008 last - excellent in every respect. Nothing is too much trouble - rooms cleaned daily and bedding changed regularly. Highly recommended

we booked a package deal to candolim,but decided to stay at joy,because my friends stayed there last year.it cost £100 for a 2 week stay,its located right on the beach,with sea views from all rooms(side on)nice sized balcony+fridge,with fan.your room is basic but enough.cleaned everyday(by the loverly babeta,who deosn't speak english)bedding+towels changed twice aweek.the guest house is small+friendly(anyone who knows calagute,its at the side of the empire beach resort)take a torch,because theres no street lamps along the beach on ur way back at night!

calangute is fantastic,my first time in goa,i've already booked for next year!the resturants around there are top class,espically au reverie.we met a nice crowd of people,+spent most evenings watching the sunset in the blue dolphin shack.excellent beaches,althought the sea is a little rough,forget swimming!

all in all i would recommend goa,great people,it's a bit of a culture shock when you first come out of the airport,but as i learned,most goans,are a happy bunch.getting anywere is realitvely cheap,either by taxi or tut tut!
try mandolim beach,for a quite relaxing time(no sellers)
