As a resort we were disappointed with Lassi, it was a bit shabby and certainly looks better at night, however we would recommend Sirtaki for their Greek Night, just make sure you get there early to ensure you get a table. The Enalion is a great hotel if you want to just chill at the hotel or if you want to use it as a base to travel round the island, just don't expect too much from Lassi.

Nice relaxing resort, beautiful beach. There was a choice of good restaurants, and a few bars for chilling in the evening. We would gladly go back again.

Kardamena is brilliant! Really nice place, laid back in the day! Plenty of great bars and a couple of clubs. Nice maccie d on the beach too!

Faliraki was pretty good for us, plenty of bars to keep us entertained at night. Lots of restaurants too. My girlfriend also enjoyed going to Rhodes Town, it was a great place.

really loved it, so many great bars with great offers! brilliant bars and clubs, got hammered every night and got tanned and burnt, perfect holiday really haha

Great city for short break, easy to get round all sights in two or three days.Easy metro ride in from airport. Nice and compact. Great for shopping or a culture fix

Athens is a really busy place! Made a brilliant change from some of the places we normally go. Apart from the old ruins, the shops were surprisingly good and the food is excellent.

Acharavi is a really nice resort but it is quite small and peaceful, that may put people off. We liked it though, there are a couple of nice tavernas and the beach is really beautiful.

A small resort, nice beach mostly sand some shingle on a curved bay. Sea crystal clear. One road of shops, bars and restaurants. No ATM machine. It was end of season so very quiet and alot of places already shut up I would imagine it being much more lively in the high season.

Aghios Nikolaos is a really lovely resort, a pretty seafront with a marina and port and lots of restaurants and shops. The port means there are lots of boat trips available to book, and we saw a few cruise ships come in during our stay too so there's always something going on - a great place for watching the world go by. Slightly set back from the seafront is also a lake which is surrounded by restaurants where you can stop for a meal or just a drink/ice cream etc. If you hire a bike/car, there are a few nice beaches about 10/15mins away from the main town as the beach in the town isn't that great. You can also take the bus to nearby resort Elounda, where there are more beaches or is just a nice place for a wander around. There's plenty to see and do in the area, we hired a quad bike for the week so were able to get around and venture a little further afield easily.

A bit like 'peterborough by the sea' poor pavements and walkways, busy traffic, sharp stoney pebble beaches. Booooo!

This is a resort suitable for all but those with young families. We are about to go for the fifth time in two years, to look for an apartment to buy.

We recommend the Neraida restaurant on the beach by the harbour (excellent Greek cuisine, wine and service), Mantalena's restaurant (traditional food, owner very informative, service good and both he and his wife very friendly) and the local bakery for the only remaining traces of Greece we found in Alykanas. Sadly the rest of the town is full of English bars and souvenir shops, most of which seem to have been closed down for a while. Hire bicycles and quad bikes in Alykes (10 minutes walk away) to explore the island. If you are a keen walker then there are some lovely walks up through the olive groves and small villages. Truly beautiful once you get into the mountains and away from the resort. Zante town itself is very pleasant and only a 30 minute bus ride away (buses leave from outside Mantalenas). The Byzantine museum is worth a visit (3 euros Oct 09) as are the churches (spectacular) and the view from the castle on the top of the hill at Bochali. Avoid Tsilivi - hideous commercialisation. Alykanas is in a perfect spot for exploring both the north and south of the island. It could be very pleasant but needs to go back to its traditional roots. If you can get a cheap deal here however (avoid August) and want to explore Zankynthos then its not a bad choice.

If you stay in the hotel you will not be dissapointed with great facilities and service, unfortuanately if you venture outside you will be surrounded by stray dogs, empty closed resturants and half built new hotels and shops. The main road which doubles as the street with resturants and bars is full of pot holes with no pavement, not in a quaint way.

We went at the end of the seson, there wasnt much to see or do then. Alot of resturants had shut for the winter.
