"Amazing Acharavi"
Overall Resort Rating:
Acharavi is a beautiful resort and suitable for couples and families. The main street has a great range of shops, bars and restaurants. Perfect for the shopaholic (like my daughter) and great for gifts to take home. We ate in a number of the restaurants along the main street, La Facchuria being our favourite, where the pizza was to die for. Along the beach there are a number of nice restaurants and bars. I can recommend Woodys and Alex's which we found good. The beach at Acharavi is pebbly so you will need your crocs, but it is great for getting a suntan and sunbeds are available to hire at 1.50 euros per bed. If you enjoy a nice walk you can stroll along the beach to Roda. It takes about 30 minutes and is well worth a visit. In the oppostite direction along the Main road there is a small waterpark (Hydropolis.) This is just outside Acharavi, which is within walking distance, but a taxi or bus would be recommended with small children.

"Small and dirty"
Overall Resort Rating:
This is a small resort. The beach is narrow with pebbles rather than sand. There are a handful of bars and restaurants. The food is lovely. The Maestro on the beach serves fabulous food and Freddos, in the main street, makes sensational ice cream.
However, the resort is rather dirty with overflowing wheelie bins. There are a handful of tourist shops. The Olive wood shop is lovely. Not really much to do for children. There is a waterpark close by but this was closed whilst we were there so can't comment on whether it is any good.
Not really a place I would go again.

Overall Resort Rating:
It is a really quiet resort though. Acharavi is a very small and quiet resort, but has a lovely beach. There are some shops and restaurants though, and it is a really relaxing place.

"Acharavi"
Overall Resort Rating:
Acharavi is a really nice resort but it is quite small and peaceful, that may put people off. We liked it though, there are a couple of nice tavernas and the beach is really beautiful.

"Great"
Overall Resort Rating:
This resort was exactly what we wanted but maybe not suited to everyone. Its quiet and relaxing with plenty of bars and restuarants. Beach was sand and pebbles but water was great. If you go in Sept or Oct then make sure you take warm clothing as it was quite cold in the evenings and we had rain and thunderstorms twice in two weeks. due to the pound against the euro Corfu has become very very expensive.

"Acharavi"
Overall Resort Rating:
The beach is about a 2 minute walk from the apartments. It is not a 100% sandy beach, as it goes from pebbles to sand/pebbles to sand. The water is shallow for quite a way out, and is therfore ideal for young children. The cost of the food and drink is OK. My family [ me/wife/daughter 15 and daughter 6] usually spent about 40 Euro which included a glass of wine and a beer. The choice of restaurants is a bit limited. In the 14 nights probably had 4/5 meals that were memorable, and the rest were just OK. Didnt go out clubbing so cant comment on the nightlife [ im not even sure if there are any clubs at the resort]. We went horse riding and to the local aqua park. One bit of advice i would give. The First Choice excursions are about double the price you will pay if you go into the town and book direct. I know some people prefer to book with the operator, but for eg, to take me/wife/kids to aqualand in Corfu town would have cost over 160 euro if booked with first choice. Booking with a bloke in the town cost 82 euro !

" Acharavi...Still unspoilt"
Overall Resort Rating:
Acharavi has retained all of its typically Greek charm with plenty of places to eat and drink. Not a huge amount to do if your a teenager, but Sidari further along the coast is the spot for the younger set!!! You can also pop into Kassiopi of a night time or go on some of the many boat trips that are available. See Sue in Castaway travel who will happily send you on your way with loads of info. She'll even change your GBP into Euros!!! We have been twice to Acharavi and intend going back next September (2010). We'll stay at the Matoula Appts again which are absolutely Fabulous!!

"Not bad!"
Overall Resort Rating:
Resort wise, not bad. Plenty of shops (selling all the usual), cashpoints in abundance, and more bars than you need to keep you well oiled on those barmy nights.

"Acharavi"
Overall Resort Rating:
The best bar is Woody's down on the beachfront they also serve really good food, we ate there several times and were very impressed with every meal we had. They do a really good breakfast and have a large cocktail list of which I tried many :) Akis & Rena who run Woodys couldn't be any nicer which makes the place better. Yamas upon the main street is also a good bar very friendly staff. The best restaurant is La Fattoria it's an Itailian and it's amazing. We didn't have great weather the first week there was a lot of rain & thunderstorms in the night but we still managed to get a few hours of sun every day. The second week was boiling though so that made up for it. The beach is pebbley but if you walk up the beach you do get to a sandier bit. Once you are in the sea there are no pebbles it's just sand. I would definately recommend Acharavi to anyone wanting a relaxed but fun holiday.

We stayed at the Restia Suites near to Acharavi and we walked into the village which took us about 30 mins along the beach. There are plenty of shops and restaurants and taxis are very cheap to get about.

"Afternoon in Acharavi"
Overall Resort Rating:
We didnt spend a lot of time here, had lunch in a corner cafe/bakery. Sandwich was very good and coffee (ask for nescafe or you will get small cup of strong coffee grounds and froth) reasonably priced. Being a bakery had great selection of cakes. Most shops close beween 1 and 5:30. We thought there was a fair seletion of shops bars, tavernas and restraunts and we had a very pleasant couple of afternoons there. Prices are more or less the same as home.

"Mataula apts, Acharavi"
Overall Resort Rating:
A delightful resort. It has everything. There is nightlife such as discos and karaoke bars, plus quiet bars for those who just want to chill out. There are many excellent restaurants, and the prices are much cheaper than at home.
