Dassia is a wonderful place to visit or stay, with lots of places to eat out. Corfu island has lots of places to see, lots of trips on offer and some lovely beaches. We went horseriding whilst we were there, and had an amazing time trekking through the old villages and olive groves. The blue buses run regularly to Corfu town, which are an easy way to get around the island. If you are able, hiring a car would be a great way of making the most of your time on the island.

As with a lot of resorts Dassia is set out along the busy main road and consists mostly of restaurants with a few touristy shops. Care should be taken when crossing this road with children. We particularly liked eating in the Alexandros Taverna, La Casa Taverna and Valentino’s. The food was excellent in all three and very well presented. It is great to see that there is a good selection of authentic Greek food to be had. The beach is pebbly and narrow in a lot of places but a walk to the far end finds the shingle a little finer. The water is clean and clear and does not get deep very quickly. Perfect for non-swimmers. Once the stones have been negotiated the water has a good firm sandy bottom which is a nice surprise. This is a resort for a lazy beach holiday but a trip to Corfu takes around 20 minutes on the local buses which are very regular and easy to use. We have stayed at Gouvia previously but chose Dassia this time as we had decided we preferred that beach.

Having read the reviews before our trip I have to say my thoughts were filled with trepidation prior to our fortnight’s stay at the Telemachos Hotel. In fact we were prepared for the worst. Our room was in the old block which it has to be said is in despera...

"Beautiful Odyssey"

Submitted in September 2008 by: Lynn Wilson

Operator: Olympic

Would never visit Dassia again, unless we went to the Odyssey Villa. The beach was an absolute disgrace. Litter everywhere and you cant blame the holiday makers. The locals seem to drop what they like where and when they like.

OverallVery Good Hotel

We went to Dassia on the 1st Sept 08 for a week thank goodness we booked a villa and only had to venture into Dassia for provisions. We found Dassia to be dirty and the shops left a lot to be desired I reckon they would close them down if they were in this ...
