A quiet holiday in a spectacular setting, unspoilt by hordes of drunken holiday makers. Not a destination for anyone seeking Nightlife / Clubs or bars serving 2 for 1 drinks. Kalami is one of the most peaceful destinations I have visited, the beach is lovely with clean crystal clear waters. Bordering the beach a 3 Tavernas of differing quality but all staffed by helpfull staff. A car is essential if you want to venture further afield but beware the coach drivers they take no prisioners & believe the road is theres & holiday drivers are a nuisance. There are many nearby secluded beaches, mostly pebbles, that can be reached by costal pathways, worth exploring, good footware is recommended. A Taverna that must be visited is Dimitries, a fantastic eating experiance perched on the side of a hill on the main road with fantastic views down to Kalami, average meal for 2 with wine, (3 courses) & Mataxa to finish £50, but well worth it. Places to avoid, Agni Beach Taverna, dissapointing menu with indifferent staff, however 2 other tavernas in the same location which is quaint so Agni well worth a visit. Top tip, Corfu has wasps, loads of them, good tip burn Greek coffee in a tin keeps them away. If travelling to Corfu in September pack some warm clothes & a Mac, the weather can be unpredictable with cool evening temperatures, however we visited in late Sept & found everything still open. Recomended eating has to be anything out of the sea, delicious Calamari & Octopus & King Prawns straight out of a Jules Verne novel,,monsters!! Barbati beach commercialised not really worth the drive, but head North for some stunning scenery & photo opportunities. If hiring car consider driving yourself back to the airport, it's any easy journey & saves you £40+ to spend in the well stocked duty paid shop. If your a keen photographer note I used 3 XD M cards, 900+ phots in one week, so ensure good supply is taken with you. To re-cap Kalami is a lovely setting for the best part uncommercialised & lacking any attractions that might encourage the union jack shorts brigade, there is a fair bit of walking to be done so good comfortable footware is recommended. Best Drink has got to be Mataxa 7*, worst is the sweet red wine!!, best food seafood, worst,,well there isnt any really. Corfiot people appreciate a few phrases although they all speak excellent english. In closing we will be returning again as soon as the bank balance is restored & the weather improves. Ya soos

Stayed in the Villa Mary Lou, operated by Villa Plus. Fantastic views down to Kalami, however Villa needs the following, bit of TLC, the palm trees need pruning, vicious fronds & well sharp. The verandha needs several lumps flattening before somone takes a ...

If your looking for a hedonistic, boozy boppy holiday then this place is NOT for you!!. If your looking for peace, tranquillity, and views to die for then this place IS definately for you.
Eating out in Kalami was a dream,I was a bit concerned as my partner and I are both strict Vegetarians, but we had no worries at all. Kalami Bay Taverna was by far the best for service, and Thomas' place was pretty good to.The views from both were great with tables right on the beach itself. One to avoid though is the White house Taverna,Over rated and over priced in my opinion and the service was appalling. We left feeling like they felt they had done us a favour by serving us!!. There are plenty of places to explore locally like the next couple of bays with both have Taverna's on and a trip to Corfu town is a must Stunning sums it up best. Also try to get to Paxos and take the offer of a little bus tour around the island to Greece as it once was before tourism took hold.
The beach in Kalami is pebbly and the water Crystal clear. If you are not a confident swimmer the waters are so calm with very little under current, but it does shelve off fairly steeply once you reach about 5 ft deep. Take some bread in with you and feed the fishes its an experience not to be missed and they come in quite shallow.
Now the bad bits- due to strength in the Euro this was not a cheap holiday to self -cater,most evening meals came to around the 40 to 50 Euro mark and that was for 2 courses and a couple of pints each and coffee's. Beer was around 3 .50 euros a pint but also please be aware that in the bars it is expected to tip so around 8 euros for 2 beers should do it. Also take plenty of mosquito repelling products they are out and starving by 5pm ish.
All in all though this was one of the best holidays I have had. I certainly felt the most relaxed I have been for a long time.
If your thinking of going, stop thinking and book trust me you will love it.

Not a lot to do, but good walking and scenery. Other than that organised excursions, or a boat trip to Corfu Town.

Excellent location, staff friendly, food and drinks reasonably priced. The resort is very quiet, none the worse for that, and very beautiful. Good walks tomAgni in one direction, and Ag Stefanos ( beautiful place) in the other, via Kolhouri and Kerasia. Be...

Kalami is a very quiet resort, just enough to meet all your needs and allow complete rest and relaxation. We enjoyed meals at all the tavernas but enjoyed the White House the most. It is a stunningly beautiful bay and the sea is very clean and great for swimming. The beach is made up of large pebbles so you need beach shoes to be really comfortable. Kalami is not the place to go if you enjoy rowdy clubs and bright lights. We went looking for rest and relaxation in beautiful surroundings and we found it. Roll on 2008!

From the moment we arrived in Kalami we felt relaxed. The airport bus drops you in the layby above the apartments and a minibus takes you down into the bay if you are staying in the lower level apartments and staff direct you to your rooms. The view from th...
