We loved this resort. There are so many hidden areas to it which made it more interesting than the usual resort. I would say you have to be pretty mobile because there are steps and hills everywhere you go. The resort is very spread out and would probably take 40 minutes to get from one end to the other but there are tavernas scattered all the way along the route. There are no pavements most of the route and you do need to be careful of pot holes and traffic. Would recommend the climb up the mountain and also a walk round to Liapades (about 1.5 hours) where you might be lucky enough to find the beach opposite the Akrotiri Beach hotel. A challenge but satisfying. Lots of water taxis to get to beaches. A stunning place to stay.

Just come back from a holiday at this hotel. First impressions were good. The location of this is 5 star but the hotel is about 3 star. The views are just amazing wherever you are and this is exactly what you dream of having when on holiday. The hot...

A great resort - expect to hire a car or use a lot of taxis/buses to see the Island. Picturesque beaches - need to wear sea shoes as rocks/sea urchins underfoot. 'Smurfs' Taverna excellent for food - 'Aladdin' Snack and Lounge Bar - great for drinks and meals. Recommend trips to Agni Beach (must eat in one of the three tavernas), Ipsos (nice beach) and Corfu Town.

A really friendly hotel with helpful staff - great service - rooms kept spotless - bathrooms fully tiled with quite powerful shower - comfy bed - effective air-con. Surprised by some of the less complimentary comments on here.

All in all this resort would suit the mature market or those wanting a relaxing break as it's not full of noisy bars or nightclubs. There was a new path under construction while we were there which can only make the walk through the resort towards the harbour both easier and safer for anyone planning a holiday there next year!

Chose Paleocastrista for an end of summer break (last week Sept & first week of Oct). Paleo itself is a destination suitable for mature holiday makers looking for a relaxing break. The resort was artificially quiet largely due to the collapse of XL airway...
