We have just returned from our second holiday of the year at Villa Ellie. We have been going there regularly for 13 years now and would not stay anywhwere else in St George. Over the years Anne and the family have become firm friends and we have watched the grandchildren grow up. The accommodation is the cleanest and best maintained we have ever stayed in in Greece and would recommend it to anyone. The location is quiet and peaceful but only a few minutes walk from all the local ameneties. We are always assured of a warm welcome whenever we go which makes it a pleasure to return. Anne works hard to keep the garden one of the best in the village and it is always a riot of colour throughout the summer with shade under the various palm trees, adding to the sense of tranquillity that the villa has. Eleanors' pool, just down the road is our favourite spot for a swim if we don't fancy the beach.(All the pools are open to non-residents as long as you buy a drink at the outside bar) and Sharon at Mad Mikes does the best English breakfast on the whole of Corfu. We have tried every month through the summer but prefer May or September when it's not too hot, in fact we have already booked our 2 weeks for next May and can't wait to get back

Just returned from a great fortnight at Villa Ellie - great value for money and extremely homely. We were recommended by friends and will definitely return again next year.

My wife booked this direct to celebrate my retirement and it was 2 weeks of bliss. Ann was lovely and helped us plan our days out and seemed to know everybody on the island! A really relaxing holiday that I hope to experience again soon, hopefully very soon as we are trying to book for late summer.

From booking the apartment the owner Anne really looked after us. She arranged for a taxi to collect us from the airport and for a cup of tea when we arrived. The rooms are clean and practical and ample for what we required. The location is ideal for the beach and the main street is only a few minutes walk away. There was not a pool but we were able to use a nearby hotel pool although the beach is so nice we went there most days. All in all, a great holiday and we have already booked for next year.

This place is simply the best. Anne who is the owner is lovely and treated us more like family than holiday makers. The place is spotless and close to the centre of St George without feeling it is too close. The beaches are close by and lovely golden sand. There are loads of restaurants and bars serving a varied cuisine. Speaking to Anne and her parents, there is nothing or anybody there they don't know in Corfu and they sorted us a hire car out so we could explore the Island and they gave us loads on insider knowledge which made the holiday that much more personal and interesting. We will definetly be returning again, hopefully later this year.

This is a fantastic find, close to both the beach and the centre.

It is run by an English family who really look after you and are a pleasure tok speak to. The room was fine and cool yet opened out onto lovely lush gardens.

The beach was only a short walk away and very clean and spacious - the water was the bluest I have ever seen and together with the white sandy beaches was gorgeous to swim in and laze about catching the sun.

The centre is laid back with a good array of restaurants and bars all very nice and good value.

All in all a super holiday which we are planning on visiting next year.

I have just returned from Villa Ellie in St George and have uncovered a real gem of a place.

Basically it is run by an elderly English family and their daughter who live above the 6 ensuite letting rooms - it is ideal if you are wanting quality but also do not want to feel like a typical holidaymaker.

Accommodation
The rooms are double bed with ensuite bathroom both to a good standard and very clean. Each room looks out onto superb gardens. It states on their website that it is not suitable for young children which I would agree, although you could easily take teenagers with you and they would have the freedom of their own room yet be in a safe environment and close to the centre.

Location
Only a few minutes walk from both the beach (with water sports) and the main street, Villa Ellie provides a peaceful surrounding that lets you get away from the hustle and bustle of being in the centre of a busy resort. We went on the beach by day then sat out at the apartments early evening with a book and a glass of wine. Although there is not a pool here, you are able to use a number of pools at nearby apartments free of charge but as the beach is so nice we went there everyday.

Food
Although it is room only, there are numerous cafes, restaurants and bars that cater for breakfast right upto top class 5* cuisine if required (numerous places also had entertainment). All the prices are very reasonable and with such choice we didn't eat in the same place twice!

Overall
For the money, this is fantastic value and somewhere that we will return to time and time again. The owners are the most helpful that we have come across and we certainly left as friends (they are also on our Christmas card list!)

I would highly recommend Villa Ellie if you are looking for a relaxing holiday, in a great location with an excellent array of eating places.
