there is not much in istron only a couple of small restaurants however your only a 20 min drive from agios where there are plenty of shops and bars.

brill place to be malia itself is crazy but if your like me then it will be just perfect i would recomend candy club and banana oh and watch out for little gypsy kids they try sell you things like roses or glow sticks and then another 1 of them steal ur wallets or money when ur distracted and the PRs are so annoying but overall a brill resort lots of things to do

can't comment on this resort as we always drove from our hotel out of the resort ,, it looks very quiet, only a couple of restaurants and a small beach

Loads of bars many english we favoured The Robin Hood very friendly and hospitable. Good food cheap beer quiz and bingo every night. Plenty of shops for goods, fast food' crepes are realy nice. everything open till late The greek resturants serve a veriety of food a three course meal with wine about 12 euros each depending on where you go. The locals are so friendly and and always try to help where they can. The views are amazing round the bay with mountings at the back of you.I love Stalis and will be visiting again.

Great resort. Lots of lovely restaurants all reasonable prices. Would reccommend Sergiani's and Camelot. Lovely food and friendly waiters. There is a really lovely traditional Greek tavera in the old town of Malia called San Georgio which I would throughly recommend if you like to see a bit of tradition, apparently friday night they do plate smashing etc! I would ask your rep or someone who knows as we ended up in Malia town centre looking for it!!

If you are looking for a quieter holiday do not head to the top end of Stalis as you are hassled by people trying to get you in their bars

we only came to crete to have a chill out holiday so did not venture anywhere stayed in the hotel complex had a short walk along the beach which was pretty quiet

By day, you have the long sandy beach where bars are open for food and drinks all day, the strip has a supermarket and loads of shops for your daily essentials and goodies to take back home. Resturants are open all day, and most of the night. There is also mini golf! There is a water park in Crete (not in Malia), but you can purchase a coach and park entry ticket from most shops on the strip, and that is a good fun day out. By night, you have all the bars and clubs. The road opposite Mc Donalds has a bar of swinging chairs which is something different!

10 mins up the hill from the papadakis apartments is Koutouloufari and Piscopiano where there are a great selection of restaurants. All very reasonably priced - less than £30 per couple for dinner + wine. (Get a karafe (jug) of local wine, much cheaper and actually quite nice). For a special meal go to Galini's (www.galini-restaurant.gr) The food here was excellent and the service second to none. You will pay a more for dinner here, but for a one off during your holiday it is totally worth it. We had the mixed grill for 2 and the veal in it was amazing, as was the rest of the plate.

10 mins down hill from the papadakis are the shops and bars. There is a Spar here which is ideal for stocking up on food and beer.

Me and 5 girls went away on 18th June 2010, I never knew Malia as a whole was like this. We all had a pucker time over there apart from the fact that EVERYONE is out to get their LEG OVER!!!! Us girls went to crack jokes, party, and have a giggle but all the girls and lads were only up foor a SHAG!!!! typical.....Oh and the PR'S are a JAR.........Drag you non stop into bars offering drinks NON STOP!!! Other than those 2 annoying things MALIA WAS great as a whole.......LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT!!!!! XXX

LOVED IT! cant wait to go next year and drag all the girls! if your a party animal this is the place to be, everyone up for a good time no arguin or fightin just a bunch of mad heads livin it up! been a few other places but nowhere as mad as malia! dont be shy there gona try and drag you into every bar down the strip if ya dont wona go in have a good excuse planned out before ya go out! they dont mind draggin ya in! get free shots everywhere ya go, everyones friendly, guarnteed to make some new friends. becky you mug! should go to silent disco such a laugh!! dont bother goin out til midnight these people party til the early hours! wear flats ladies your gonna be out all night!! take plenty of money drinks dont come cheap! if ya wonna go on the pull come to malia its a sure bet! plenty of lads around for the ladies! have fun because we sure did!! defo come again!

The resort is a well appointed base from which to explore the southern coast of Crete. The resort is a lot quieter than those on the northern coast. It is however a little remote and a car is a necessity. There are however many lovely beaches and tavernas to enjoy within walking distance of Plakias.
