Elounda is a lovely resort with the main attraction being the nearby island of Spinalonga. The beaches are good with the charges for sunbeds and umbrellas cheaper than other resorts we visited. Eating out is very reasonable with many restaurants to choose...
Elounda is a lovely resort with the main attraction being the nearby island of Spinalonga. The beaches are good with the charges for sunbeds and umbrellas cheaper than other resorts we visited. Eating out is very reasonable with many restaurants to choose from. There are also plenty of bars but no night clubs or noisy karaoke which for us was a bonus.

We have just returned from two weeks staying at the Akti Olous Hotel. Crete and the Elounda resort were fantastic but unfortunately the hotel left a bit to be desired. The location is magnificent but the best is not made of this hotel. It is a shame that ...

Lovely we hired a car and found some lovely beaches at Alymyros (spelling?). Elounda has some great bars for just watching life go by and some excellent ice cream parlours

We visited Elounds for a week this year, there are many things to see and do, one of which that we would definatley recommend doing is the trip to Spinalonga! Its beautiful and the story behind the abandoned island is heart renching, the architecture is amazing! There are also many trips for the younger generation such as night cruises around the bay.
