Very nice area, lots of places to eat and drink. Weather is amazing. The White Lady and Giovannis are lovely pleaces to eat. Would love to go back to Crete but will avoid the Golden Sun it's an awful hotel with terrible food.

the beach and sea were lovely and clean so you could see where you were walking in the sea. The weather just got hotter but we had a lovely air condition in the hotel. The bus service is regular and very cheap and you can just hop on as long as you have purchased you ticket which you cant do on the bus! If your looking for a relaxing holiday then this is the place to go to.

We went in to Rethymno one evening by bus. Its a nice little town with plentyof shops and a lovely little harbour

Rethymnon - excellent resort - lively town with a great old quarter full of sights and a maze of twisting narrow winding streets. Good shops mixed in with reasonably-priced restaurants (provided you stay away from those at the Venetian harbour - beware the silver-tongued touts along here if you stroll along to take a look).

Only spent one day in Rithymna town itself. Good selection of shops in both the old town and new town. Plenty of restaurants especially around the harbour where it is obviously more expensive to eat and drink.

This resort is on one of the narrowest parts of the island so access to Crete is easy, also situated on the E75 fast road going east and west. Great location for exploring unspolit mountain villages, the countryside, the mountainshistory, gorges, beaches. Market every Thursday and interesting town to explore.Lovely sandy beaches on the longest beach in Crete.Self catering facilities available good choice of food in supermarkets and take away. Bakers for good bread.

The actual area and bars and tavernas are very good,and the people running them are friendly,and very happy to do anything to please you!We will definitely be returning to the area very soon to sample a hotel in the area,where we got to know the owners,on our last visit,and bringing our son with us,to sample the delights of Crete!

A typicall venetian old town, very pleasant and cool in the narrow cobbled streets. Plenty of shops and tavernas, with many bargains to be had in textiles and leather goods.Streets are very clean and tidy, but get busy, especially on market days.

Really great hotel, very classy, fantastic service, staff very friendly and attentive. Lovely pools; you are allowed in the infinity pool to the left of the complex, and obviously the main pools, but not the infinity pool to the right as it’s restricted to bungalow guests. The food was very good with lots of variety and themed nights, Asian, Italian and Greek when we stayed.

One tip to mention; book half-board if you can, then upgrade to All-Inclusive (AI) in the hotel, we saved £300 for two adults over one week (don’t upgrade kids, as they are AI as standard). We booked 6 days AI as we thought we wouldn’t eat and drink enough on the last day to justify the 15 Euros per person per day cost. However, much to our pleasure, they upgraded us for free, and let us keep the room for the whole day free of charge. How’s that for service!

The only down side is a poor beach; it’s very rocky and often so rough going in the water would be deadly.

I have read some negative reviews, and all I can say is some people must be very hard to please. I would recommend this hotel very highly.

The resort basically is the hotel. Rythymon is a 45min bus ride away but is definitely worth a visit.

Beaches were beautiful drinks were lush what more could a couple ask for would advise this place to anyne

The location was beautiful and there were loads of things to do. The prices were reasonable and the food in the restaurants was very delicious. I cannot wait for our return trip there.

We were staying at an all inclusive for a week of doing nothing so a lot of the above we can't make a comment

Rethymnon is a very beautiful place to be with it's little cobbled alleys and shops and general feeling. The people are lovely and very welcoming. Beaches are amazing and there are plenty of tours going on through the summer. Restaurants are plenty and prices very reasonable. Bits of history to be researched there so all in all plenty to do and see. Plenty of old buildings in very good order.
