"Busy place in season"
Overall Resort Rating:
Busy place in high season, plenty of shops and eating places....not the worst and not the best.
Depends on what youre looking for....loads of hotels and apartments and good beaches.

"Busy but overall good"
Overall Resort Rating:
A very built up resort with Taverna after bar after English pub after tourist shop all the way along for about a mile. Bigscreen TV's evrywher showing sport, predominately football.
This is not the sort of resort we normally go for but as it wasn't busy it was fun.
The food was good everywhere we went and cost 20 to 30 euro's for 2 starters, 2 mains and a litre of house red, which was surprisingly good wine.
So! All in all, a very good holiday despite a few niggles. stop charging for the fridge George, it just annoys folk.
Finally, why do owners insist on having people outside trying to get you into their taverna? I guess it works but it is b++++y annoying. No one we know likes it.

"Piskopiano"
Overall Resort Rating:
Quiet and ideal for couples seeking a relaxing getaway!
Near to Old Hersonnisos and two other villages with a wide range of bars and tavernas.
The beach was a twenty - thirty minute walk away downhill.... coming back was a little more tiring! We didn't feel the need to use the beach, as hotel had a nice pool and the restaurants in the neighbouring villages were as nice and much cheaper (and quieter)

"stallis"
Overall Resort Rating:
stallis was lovely me and my boyfriend are quite young but we wanted a quieter holiday as i have been to lots of 18-30 holidays and wanted something a bit more for couples more romantic and relaxing. there are loads of great restraunts often looking out onto the sea. lots of bars and karaoke bars and cocktail bars and a few clubs but if you want something more lively its easy to go to malia. the beach was good however in some smaller areas of the beach it is more rocky and beware of the sea urchins- i had never heard of these before but they are small hedgehog like creatures that live on the rocks by the sea and i stood on one on my first day on the beach and some of its needles of its coat went into my foot and i had to go to a clinic and get them removed which costed 55 euro even with travel insurance lol but was fine after that just stay away from the rocks!. we went to the water park which costed 20 euro including the bus to take us there its only 15 mins in bus and it was brilliant so many slides and bars and a big pool and table tennis etc.def worth doing this. we hired out a pedlo boat for 15 euro on the beach and parasailing for two of us to go up together at same time was 60 euro or 40 euro for one person. there is also jet ski and banna boats and other things like that. and there is crazy golf in some of the bars the bar we went to you only had to buy a drink and you got to play free crazy golf which was a laugh. I thought stallis was a bit expensive but this is prob due to the poorness of the euro at the minute. there were lots of places you could get stuff cheap tho like a full english fry with orange juice and coffee for 4 euro and great cocktails too.and loads of ice cream places and bakeries. there are loads of quad bike and car hire places so have your driving liscenec details its a great way to get around and cheap to hire out as well you can hire a quad bike for the day for about15 euro or 20 euro for 2 days- there are more quad bikes than cars on the road! we also hired out bicycles and cycled up near the mountains as well. loved stallis better for couples or families than people who want to party really hard. the weather was good and people are friendly.

"Stalis"
Overall Resort Rating:
We have been to Stalis 3 times, and love it, it is very laid back - there are a mixture of people who would stay in it but it is a lot quiet/sedate than Malia, and being in our 50s now we find it ideal, good restaurants and pubs and plenty of day trips if you want them.

"Excellent"
Overall Resort Rating:
This was our 3rd year in Stalis and hope to be going back for many years to come, you can eat or drink in a different place every night for a fortnight and still not visit all the pubs/restaurants there.Something for everybody with the rowdier resort of Malia just a 30 mins stroll away for the younger party goers. Nice sandy beaches with a nice gentle slope into the sea. Very friendly local people who treat you like family once they have got to know you. Some nice walks and excursions. Plenty to see and do for all ages...

"Nice resort"
Overall Resort Rating:
The resort is nice although not much to do. It is fine if you just want to sunbathe on the beach. The beach is lovely although not very clean. The waiters and waitress at the restaurants are all friendly. Our favourite restaurant was the Brittania. Very friendly staff and they do a lovely breakfast which includes free sun loungers for the day. We went on the Happy Train for an hour and half as it was supposed to go to Malia and Hersonissos. We went through Malia but did not go through Hersonissos. Where it took us there were not many sights or any commentary. I would recommend this resort if you are only going for 1 week. Having spoken to people that had had already stayed for a week they were pushed to find different things to do in their second week.

"Nice resort"
Overall Resort Rating:
I would not stay at this resort for more than a week as there is not much to see or do. The beach is nice and the restaurants and food are good. There are a lot of shops to browse round. I would suggest booking a trip out of the resort or hiring a car as you can't really walk any where of interest from the resort. Our favourite restaurant was the Britannia. Lovely freindly staff and they do a lovely breakfast in which you get to use their sunbeds for the day for free. The Happy Train is ok but not much to see really and no commentary. Average resort.

"Lovely Stalis"
Overall Resort Rating:
Stalis is a lovely place and very easy to find your way around. There is a main street that runs parallel to the beach which is full of shops, restaurants and bars. We liked to try somewhere different each night and were never disappointed by the choice. The beach is lovely and you can pay for a sunbed and umbrella and get a free lunch on the beach. The sea was warm all the time even when the weather was dull. Hersonnosis and Malia are either side of Stalis and can be walked to if you want to have a look around. We found Stalis to be the best of the 3 towns. There is a great bus service running to Heraklion and other resorts around the island. We also went to the local water park and had a great day. We will be going back in June for 2 weeks and we dont usually return to the same place but we had such a good time there we wanted to go back. There is a great chinese buffet which I would recommend and a restaurant called La Fontana which does great kleftiko. There are numerous places where you can hire a car or quad bike to get around the island for not very much money. Highly recommended for couples and families. This is not a town to go clubbing, but if this is what you want go to Malia next door

"Brilliant Stalis"
Overall Resort Rating:
Stalis is ideal for just about everyone. It never gets to busy but there is always somewhere and something to do. There are countless bars and resturants with very favourable prices considering the pound/euro rate. Bars are charging anything from £1.45 to £2.30 for a large beer and long drinks about £2.30 to £2.90. We ate out every night and never had a poor meal, costing around £22.00 with starter, 2 mains and 1/2 litre of wine. Someplaces worth a mention is the Kaliana, Knossos, Segiani, Britannia Pub (wow the mixed grills are huge). Stalis is great and we will difinately return to the Koni Village is Stalis.

"Stalis is lovely!"
Overall Resort Rating:
Stalus is a lovely resort if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It is situated alongside Malia but is far enough away for you not to endure the hardcore party style of it's party crazy sister. There is a great amount of restaurants which all sell good quality food. There are also lots of lovely cocktail bars for you to enjoy a tipple or two. The beaches are clean and there are many private beaches which all offer their own special ammenities.
