We stayed in the hotel and the town had nothing to offer. Nothing really to write about other than stay away.

Great if you want a quiet holiday (as we did) - lot of others grumbled about it being quiet. Guess it depends what you are looking for.

Afitos review

This resort does not have discos and nightclubs but there were lots of young teenagers staying at the Achtis Hotel and our own 2 15 year olds enjoyed themselves. The resort doesn't have lots of facilities for small children, but again there were lots of families with small children there. It is a good place to relax and take life easy. The village of Afytos is delightful with lots of good restaurants and bars and little gift shops and a couple of supermarkets for buying essentials. There is a steep hill down to the beach but there is plenty of parking if taking the car down. There is also a bit of a climb up to the Achtis Hotel from the village but it is only a short hill. We thought this village was the best in the area, very quaint and pretty. We loved it.

Pefkohori review

"Pefkohori"

The beach was lovely sand and shingle, and two sunbeds and parasol right on the edge of the sea, which was very clear and blue, cost just €5 for the whole day.

Our favourite restaurant whilst we were there was a traditional Greek restaurant called Danny's. It was situated right on the beach down the quieter end of the resort and seemed to attract a lot of the locals. Therefore it served authentic Greek food as well as international cuisine, with the addition of Greek dancing on a Thursday night. Another good restaurant in the same area along the beach a little was Zinhi's who were really friendly.

As we were there in the second week of September the bars and clubs were beginning to shut down but we still manged to find a few good bars; Madness which was on the seafront and Mamos up on the high street, being two of them. On the Saturday night we walked up into Hanioti which was a 20-25 minute walk, although taxis are cheap enough, where they had a larger selection of bars, clubs and restaurants.

All in all we thoroughly enjoyed everything about Pefkohori and will definitely go back if we get the chance.

Busier than expected. Would'nt call it a village, but really depends on what you want. We had no need to go there as we went fully inclusive so cannot comment on the restaurants etc

Kriopigi review

"Small, Expensive and Hilly"

61%
of reviewers would recommend this
resort to a friend

Open quote

Kriopigi is a small "village" (don't be fooled by the term village) with one major road running through it which is very busy. It has a decent number of eateries; Italian and Greek which serve in the main good food but it isn't as cheap it used to be e.g. a three course meal, bottle of house wine can set you back on average 70 euro. The beach is down a long winding hill road but can be travelled on the tractor train for 1 euro each way (and belive me worth it) The beach is often crowded but has plenty of sun beds with parasols which are free providing you buy drinks from the mobile Kantinas; the only problem with this is an ordinary can of coke and similar sized beer will cost 3 euro each so beware. Beach is very safe and the water is fantastically warm. But again the trip down there was such that most people stayed by the pool. Probably better hiring a small car to get around but try and travel early morning to avoid the busy traffic, further be aware it is a favourite spot for Greeks to spend time and their driving/parking habits require a bit of getting used to. Most of the people were friendly and welcoming and certainly appreciateed our attempt at speaking a little Greek. Best night out; the Acropolis Taverna with Sakis (Greek Les Dawson) Fridays. But unfortunately we wont be going back to Kriopigi as there are sorry to say better resorts/places to holiday and prices are now on par with and often more than the U.K.

The village of Afitos seems to be a nice quaint village, however as the Afitis Hotel was so unsatisfactory we did not spend any time there to evaluate it. The streets are certainly difficult to navgate as they are very narrow.

Did not spend enough time in the town to submit a worthwhile review as we spent all of our time in the hotel as it was truly an all inclusive hotel.

Open quote

Mola Kaliva is a beautiful village situated on the south west side of Halkidiki peninsula. It is an ideal place for a family holiday, a long way from mass tourism.

Full of pinewood and olive trees, the forest provides a picturesque mediterranean landscape. With the beach just in front of the village, the location is a perfect combination between sea and mountain.

In Mola Kaliva, you may also find a supermarket, fish restaurants, a beach bar and some fast food venues.
