Excellant beaches very safe for young children. Plenty of variety in choices of places to eat.Not too much in the way of nightlife but who needs that when you can sit and watch some beautiful sunsets.

Captains is an excellent place to eat the food is very good and cheap, set menu for two people three courses for 20 Euros the staff there are friendly and helpful. We went on the Alexander the Great trip which was excellent and a daytrip to Thessaloniki, it was very busy so if you are not one for crowds this is probably one for you to avoid. The area of Pefkohori had plenty to offer a young couple such as us, but equally suited families and older couples alike. The beach did get crowded, however we always managed to get a nice spot.Beautiful area hire a car to get about use the local companies they are fine.

Pefkohori review
"Small and not much to do"
resort to a friend
The beach here is shingles rather than sand, and there are sea urchins lurking in the water, so please be careful if you go for a swim. There are some good excursions out of Pefkohori available, but these are an added expense that could be avoided in a more well developed resort.
The nightlife in the area is lacking, so you will need to take a taxi up to a neighbouring resort to have a good night out, but there are a few good places to eat in the area and the prices are not too bad.
There are also several supermarkets in close proximity to the beachfront, so it is fairly cheap to snack during the day.
This is a quiet resort. It is generally clean, but with a little graffiti, and is nice enough if you want a relaxing little holiday, but to really make the most out of any trip you will need to budget for travel expenses to see more of the local area.

This still remains a very greek resort,we stumbled across 1 english themed restaurant,th "cockney cafe".There are quite a few restaurants and we didnt have a bad meal all week.Loads of fast food "gyros" cafes which were very popular. The beach was shingle but it was manageable once you've waded in a bit.Free sunbeds as long as you buy a drink from the coinciding bar, they didnt hassle you only came and asked us once, and come and serve drinks to you on beach. The streets are busy with lots of people.Overall i would go back here at the drop of a hat.My son (6) enjoyed his days messing around in the sea and the pool.

Not forgetting its brilliant location... literally 100m from the beach, promenade, right turn out of entrance and about the same distance from the main street, left turn out of entrance, where you'll find numerous tavernas, shops and bars.
Pefkohori itself has a great beach and a friendly bustling evening atmosphere whether you choose to spend your evening on the promenade or on the main street, both offer many cool tavernas and bars with fabulous food and lots of cool exotic cocktails, brilliant wines, ice cold beers.
We also hired an off-road dune buggy for the day and spent the day exploring, which was most enjoyable. Discovering various hidden beaches by following random sand tracks that were running off the main roads. We found about 4 of these and stayed for about an hour at each one sunbathing in private. It was good fun. Pefkahori still remains very Greek. If you want to know a bit more of the Greek history go to Petronella caves and the museum in thessaloniki, its fantastic.

Not for people who want a peaceful holiday - too many unruly children and parents who let their little ones run riot.

Polichrono was only just getting up and running as we were in the first week of May, The beach is nice but is sand and shingle so beach shoes are handy, Unfortunately there was some evidence of litter on the beach and in the water that (although trivial)could spoil your opinion of the place which would be a shame as the water is very clear and the views are fantastic I would think that teenagers may get a little bored with this resort as nightlife mainly consists of sittting in a restaurant having a meal etc and watching the world go by. It takes about an hour to walk along the beach road to Hanoiti which is a bigger resort and has more to do for teenagers, a taxi return is about 6 euro. Overall Polichrono is a nice little resort but proably more suited to parents with young children and older couples.

If you want a quiet holiday-and I mean a quiet holiday, this is the place for you.No entertainment in the resort all week, just Greek tavernas and restaurants along the front. If you want anything livelier, you have to go to Hanitos which is the next place going south.1 euro 40 by bus or nearly 8 in a taxi one way,or an hours walk.I would recommend the Cockney bar for food and the Bakery on the corner which do excellent croissants. As for the beach, its very narrow.Good thing about the resort is you dont get mithered by the owners of restaurants and bars like in Benidorm.

Hanioti is full of tavernas everywhere you look, soem are cheaper than others the most expensive meal we had was the restaurant that had the roof top terrace not much on the menu but it cost us 60 Euro for a Lasagne and a childrens meal and Mousaka and a drink each not worth it really.
Beach was nice and not too crowded. Does not shelve slowly but we did not have a problem.

Nea Moudania review
"Complex too good to leave"
resort to a friend
Not a particularly objective review of resort as we did not leave the complex too much
It seemed to be a very ordinary (if not a bit scruffy) Greek village. the complex was an oasis on the edge of the village.

visited for a week from 18.5.2009. very pleasant resort. ok for all ages. clean beaches.excellent tavernas, we used aypa taverna most evenings , very well treated, lovely food . just one downside too many vehicles using narrow seafront promonade. we think this should be a pedestrian area after 11am. rusty and celia briggs

I adore Hanioti, it is one of my favourite places in the world. The people are so friendly and welcoming and some of them have become friends. The Square and the surrounding streets are the place to be at night, to people watch and enjoy good food and drinks. The fountain is lovely to sit and watch. I would definitely recommend the area. Although the bars are all open late there are no nightclubs, though you can get a taxi to the nightclubs in Kalithea for around 11 euro. It is a very relaxing, chilling out place to go on holiday.

We love the Greek islands and Cyprus so we were disappointed with this resort. Unfotunately it rained pretty much everyday so it limited what we could do but we thought it was boring. The prices for cocktails were approx 5-8 euros so very expensive!! Every meal we had was unimpressive to be honest and we never went to any restaurant twice. We love Gyros but even that had mustard etc in it that spoilt it. The beach seemed nice but like I say, we only got to go once when the sun showed its face. Would recommend you go to Paphos, Kos town or Rhodes town-all excellent resorts
