JUST RETURNED FROM 7 NIGHTS AT THE ALKION LEAVING 25TH SEPTEMBER.The apartments were lovely and clean the staff were very friendly.all i can say is the weather wasnt the best and it really put a downer on the holiday, was raining when we arrived and very cold and windy the next few days.we had about 2 full days of good sunshine, quite dissapointing really, especially when you arent prepared for it.Also there wasnt much entertainment on at the alkion at night, just karaoke one night and bingo.maybe this was just because its getting towards the end of the season.
Was very dissapointed at the beach.was just a very small strip of beach.ALSO VERY SAD AT THE AMOUNT OF STRAY ANIMALS, CATS AND DOGS ALL VERY SKINNY just wandering around waiting for food and loooking for a home.Went on a day trip to the market in the mornin...

not alot to do and see there, but amazing views, nice places to eat in village.and if you want something a little bit more busy try hanioti at night.

Just returned from the Alkion Apartments in Kriopigi what a wonderful holiday we had.
If you want hectic holidays this isn't the place to go, although there are plenty of eating places and a few bars. The Sports Bar was our favourite as was Athenas restaurant the service was brilliant. We stayed in a studio apartment for 2 to 4 people, there was plenty of room in the studio and the views were to die for. I watched the sun rise every morning which was brilliant. The studio was very clean maids came everyday to empty bins. We had clean sheets and towels every two days which was great. Taxis very cheap went to Hanoti for a night it cost 10 euros. The waterpark is well worth a visit. The children did scuba diving beginners course but we found out you could book direct with the instructor which is far cheaper than with the rep.
We are looking forward to visiting the Alkion again in the near future.
THE grounds and complex are lovelly.we had a room with the biggest patio/balconey
ever.(suntrap too).the room was clean and spacious with three single beds in.The cleaners come every day ...so if you want to lie in make sure your covered up.lol

We went early may so the hotel was quiet(fantastic)....
Yanis and his team are really nice, dometrice is always smiling and really polite.
the hill up to the village isnt too bad but would be a pain in the real heat.
we ate a nikos restaraunt,,the best food we had .casablanca for drinks,,.
The beach hill was ok going down but cuming up .......the beach is small but if you go to the left and past the rough bit its lovelly and really clear water.
The nearest cash pont is 7euro taxi ride away so make sure you take money to get you by the first few days also no shop on site so its a walk to the supermarket.
we had no complaints at all,,oh they dont do evening meals but the chicken nuggets are nice and the staff are known to get the odd kebab delivered.

The Alkion apartments are very nice, they are set roughly in a square with the pool in the middle, the gardens are well kept with plenty of flowers.
The rooms are basic but reasonably clean,
there is a cooker, a toaster,a kettle, a hairdryer and cooking utensils, my room had 2 single beds which were a bit uncomfortable.
The apartments are set on rather a steep hill which you have to walk up to get to the shops or down to get to the beach, there is a small train you can catch at the beach to bring you back up.
The beach at kriopigi is the worst i have ever been to, very narrow and dirty, and with limited sunbeds, and only 1 small cafe, the view of the penninsulas is good though.
Kriopigi resort center is very small indeed, half a dozen bars and half a dozen restuarants, these are either side of a busy main road.
We were eating out every night and found in our opinion that Athinas was the best place to eat, only small but all the food was fresh and you were made very welcome, on one night whilst eating there it rained so hard that Athina asked her husband to give everyone who was in the restuarant a lift home.
Took a couple of trips to polychrono, and hanioti these resorts are much bigger than Kriopigi, plenty of shops and restuarants etc, the beaches at these resorts were a bit better, much cleaner anyway.
I would not go back to kriopigi because of the wasps, there are absolutly millions of them, on taking a walk down to the beach you have to pass a small wooded area which is very nice and shady but the whole place was humming with wasps.
The weather was very bad not the greeks fault, it rained for 7 days and i mean rained, rocks being washed down the road and tarmac being lifted off the road. we went late september i would definately advise people to go earlier than this as it was not that hot either.
