Lassi is a small paradise for everyone who wants to go away from the hectic pace and the crowd of big cities. We had easy access to all faclilities and restaurants and beaches were on walking distance. It is also ideal location if you want to have a tour of the island, as it is almost in the middle of it. And the capital city is near by!

Hire a car for a few days. The beahes here are good and nott overcrowded, however there is not too much to do in terms of things to see and do. Its a nice walk to argastolli.

A really good holiday, the Island is spectacular and very relaxing.

Perfect location for relaxing and enjoying transparent waters and beautiful beaches. Very calm, beautiful colors... Restaurants and convenient stores at reach. If you want to visit the rest of the island, it is good though to plan to rent a car, Argostoli, the main city of the island is ten minutes away by car

We will definately return and will again stay at the Venia apartments.

something or nothing for everyone

The resort is definitely for those who prefer quiet, even sedate, hols. Most teenagers would be bored witless. The sea is warm and clear, though not great for snorkelling. We ate mostly at the Katelios Taverna - good food, reasonable prices, friendly sevice. The beach bar near the tobacco shack is a great place for a chilled Mythos and/or snack; though not especially cheap, the location is second to none. We don't do coach tours - but were glad we broke the habit of a lifetime in visiting the local travel office and booking an Island Tour; much the best way to see the sights of Kefalonia without the responsibility of steering a car round the hair-raising hairpins, with an interesting commentary about the island's history and customs along the way. We also did Captain Kostis's fast boat ride to Poros (also calls at Skala) - great fun, with interesting views along the way. Captain K's first priority is clearly not Health and Safety, but none of us was lost overboard..... All in all, a great holiday in pleasant apartments on a fascinating Greek island.

The resort seemed like it had one purpose,..

To extract as much money from you as possible. Very expensive for drinks, very expensive for car hire. Not good value for money at all..

The island is suited for couples wanting a relaxing time. It is not suitable for families or the 18-30 disco loving brigade and this is in evidence throughout the resorts we visited. Lassi itself is a man made resort which runs parallel to a number of small beaches. Makris Gialos beach is the closest and is a good beach. The resort is basically a number of spread out restaurants, bars, supermarkets & apartments along the main road. Once youve eaten in the restaurant then unless you decide to use a reataurant which offers greek dancing or a live singer/band, your options are limited to visting one of the bars or returning to your apartment. Souvenier shopping isnt in evidence much on the island with Lassi not offering much choice. Lassi certainly isnt the real greece but with the nice beaches,being very close to the airport & the capital Argostoli it is one of the more popular resorts. Although I sound negative I would actually return to Lassi but probably just for a week unless I had loads of books to read and plenty of songs on my ipod, in which case I might just manage 2 weeks !

Best restaurants are Galera Scandinavia & Apostolis - by far the worst is Socrates - have given it two chances & on both occasions food was appalling! For a lunchtime snack Sugar Lemon & Green Paradise are recommended.

Beautiful place, but far too many cats for our liking!

Skala is a fairly quiet resort, several bars and restaurants but none really noisy so if thats what you're looking for its perfect. Very close to the beach. The take away pizza slices at Veto's are fantastic. And Flamingo restaurant is fab.

Having read reviews about Scala I did expect a bit more to the town than was actually there.Generally the Tavernas or Restaurants of which there are probably around 20 or so serve the same sort of food and of a similar standard not bad, not excellent.There are a few other bars and souvenir shops but nothing remarkable. Bearing in mind that Kefalonia owes a lot to tourism Scala like the rest of the island has not really geared itself up properly although you could argue this means it maintains its quaintness.However with a little thought and effort the Promenade or concrete footpath could be improved including the street(?) lights as well as the beach,which is its best asset and whilst not dirty, could be made far more attractive. Scala could therefore do more without attracting the wrong type and what a bonus no drunken idiotic, football shirt wearing, foul mouthed English sunburnt Chavs were noticeable during my stay. If you like the beach or pool and not venturing far then Scala is probably fine but to explore the Island car hire is a must as the bus service is practically non existent(another example of the island selling itself short)It is far more expensive to hire whilst there and a good way is to hire via the Internet collecting from the airport on arrival. With a car you will find the Island ruggedly beautiful and can easily explore fantastic beaches like Myrtos Bay or climb Mount Aenos if you feel like a 12 mile hike !! visit Lake Melissanni or visit Fiskardo. Personally I would recommend staying at Aghia Efimia which is very quaint and central for exploring the Island. Kefalonia is a bit different and as long as you accept it warts and all it is a lovely place to holiday.

Lassi was a nice little town with plenty of tavernas offering a decent standard of service. Best of all was the Northern side of the island with Fiscardo and Assos both being lovely destinations.Service in general is not given with a smile, which is a great shame. It could be so good with just a minimal amount of know How and effort!
