Skala overall is a typical greek island resort , lovely people and excellent food , we never had a bad experience of anything on the entire holiday !!!

A car is a must in this resort, lots & lots of hills. Only go to this resort if you like long walks and uphill ones at that. Depending on where you stay be warned the beaches are not close to the resorts at all and there are no taxis available locally, they have to come from other villages and are very expensive. This resort is not cheap.

Lovely resort with just the right mix of bars. There are enough restaurants to eat at a different one every night of a fortnights holiday. Would recommend The Pines restaurant and Neros Sports Bar, although have to say didn't have a bad meal anywhere.

Small and pleasant resort with a good beach. Usual supermarkets and gift shops, plenty of restaurants to choose from. Our favourite was Aquarius. Resort suitable for couples and families.

If you are looking for night life then this is not the place for you. However this is great for couples and if you are like me and want good food plenty of wine reasonably priced and good company then you are spoiled for choice. Most tourist seem to go back year on year, I normally like to go to a different place , however this is definately on the island to return to list and katelios as the resort to revisit. I hired a car for a week of the 2 weeks of our stay and this made the holiday. Most resorts on kefalonia are small and the whole island just calls out to be explored. I was well impressed with the resort prices which apear to have been pegged back from last year and I was amazed by the value for money across the whole resort.

Skala is a lovely resort, quiet and laid back. The beach is beautiful. There's plenty of restaurants to choose from - you can eat somewhere different every night( our favourites were Aquarius and the Italian) and there are some cosy little bars-what more do you need?!

Friendly, safe and small resort with all the facilities you would expect. Great beaches friendly locals and fabulous food!

Its a great resort, there are loads of good restaurants, we didn't have one bad meal, the only thing we noticed was that most of the menus are the same. We'd recommend The Aquarius, the menu's a little bit different, service is good where ever you go, also The Old Village, and The Pines. The Captains bar is great for cocktails. Everyone speaks English and are so welcoming and friendly. The toilets are all spotlessly clean too! The beach is good but shingly so take some swimming shoes.

a nice peaceful greek resort nice beach and eating places but really expensive at the moment due to the £/euro exchange rate.

Lassi is a very laid back resort suitable for couples or young families. Lots of good restaurants at very reasonable prices, Phaedra was our favourite. Not many bars but Aquarius was good and always a warm welcome from Rebecca and Mike, they are Greek, not English, no English bars here, long may it continue. Very good beaches of which Long Beach is the best, if you want it quite and relaxing go to the north end of the beach near the Stairway Cafe, if you want it a bit livelier try the area near the beach club.

Skala is a nice relaxing vilage plenty to do its very safe nice places to eat and drink and so laid back.

Lassi is a strip with several supermarkets, bars and returants. Easy access to beaches which are mostly quite narrow. Most items can be purchased in the supermarkets which are open until midnight. We enjoyed our visit.

good resort laid back not really for teens but great for couples and young families five super markets about ten resturants best we thought was butlers house and nefelis although they are much the same only had dodgy service in the olive press but they might have been having an off day we paid aroung 50 euros for starter mains and a bottle of wine although house wine and a main would be about 25- 30 for the two of us

This is a very small village with only a hand full of tavernas. the Best for quality and price were the traditional and local ones - Dom Spiros, La Calma and Fois. the prices at the other bigger 'restuarants' have gone up in the last 2 yrs. 5 mins for Elenas is the Al Hellas beach very quiet - the closest but not the nicest. if you leave the Aptmts and turn right, follow the road down past the Irini hotel and you will come to a small fishing harbour on the left. Continue on the road towards the airport and you will find Ammes beach( 30-45 min walk). This in fantastic on Tues, Sat and Sun as you are siting at the end of the runway and can wave at people!!!!!! amazing. Avithos beach can be found by turning left out of the aptmnts and right at the cross roads (30mins walk- slightly hilly in places). there are 2 taverna one on the beach and one above the beach. Recommend the on e on the beach every time food and service really good. Buses run form the crossroads to Argostoli 10.30 in the morning and back at 2 pm from the bus station - they say there are 3 buses aday but not sure on that one.

Skala is simply beautiful and remains relatively uncommercialised. It has a lovely long golden beach. The resort is basically one road that leads off the sea front. Whilst the bars and restaurants are generaly very good there is a limited choice and this allows the bars to charge top prices. £8-£10 for a 'special' with drinks costing between £3-£6. Be prepared to spend loads of money.
