Lassi Holiday Reviews

Lassi is really beautiful and very traditionally greek, it is suitable for everyone. It is relatively unspoilt compared to other islands and not that commercial. Its beaches are shallow and safe with really pretty scenery and white sand. There are lots of tavernas in Lassi but the capital Argostoli is only 5mins away by taxi which has a good range of bars and restaurantsin its central square. The prices are really reasonable in Lassi but can be pricey in Argostoli. There is a few reestaurants we would recommend Zorbas and Veronicas are good for Greek food and the Chinese House on the main street is excellent, do not make the long trip to the other chinese as it is not as good. There are a few bars all of which are good. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.

Lots of restaurants, basically serving the same menu. Had some fab food, didn't have 1 bad meal, we did eat greek food for two weeks with maybe an odd omelete thrown in, so can't say what the english food was like.

Great beaches, fab food and atmosphere! If you're a greece lover, you most definately will love Kefalonia, as for Lassi - nothing to not like about it! We've had a fab time and will visit again hopefully very soon.

Lassi was a great base to discover the whole island. Had a good choice of restaurants and bars. Bars had a more relaxed theme and certainly couldn't be described as lively. If you want that type of holiday then Lassi or even Kefalonia isn't where you should be heading. Lassi is basically a strip with bars, restaurants and shops on both sides of the road leading upto the capital Argostoli. There are car hire and moped hire places within Lassi. We used Rent-a-bike to hire a moped. My advice is if you are going to hire a moped get at least a 250cc if you're carrying a pillion. The island is very mountainous and we passed a couple of smaller mopeds with rider and pillion who were really struggling on the climbs! Hardly saw any trip buses on organised tours and think this is because everybody just seems to hire a car/moped and do their own touring. There are however a few offices and holiday reps who do offer organised trips if you're not sure about driving abroad.

Would definitely recommed using the Vagetali Supermarket - probably in the middle of the strip next to Chinese House Restaurant. Prices are the cheapest and almost on a par with English prices. The other supermarkets certainly gave you a feeling of being ripped off. We were attracted to a restaurant called Sirtaki - Every table was taken and people were queing - a good sign? - advertised traditional Greek Cuisine. We ordered a Greek dish and this was presented on one side of the plate and on the other side was chips and tinned vegetables!! A complete let down! We did however try Zorbas and found this to be excellent - serving up traditional Greek cuisine as it should be. I know taste is down to everybody's individual pallete but to serve chips and tinned vegetables??!!

I have rated Cost of Food and Drink as Average - this is in comparison to other resorts I've visited and not English prices.

Would definitely go to Argostoli for a night out and try the bars and restaurants around the square. 6 Euros in a taxi. The taxis queue in the Square so easy enough to get back. Again the bars offered relaxed atmosphere looking out onto the square. Great atmosphere in the Square which is the attraction and meeting place for everyone.

Would definitely recommend Lassi to friends and Family.

Lassi is a very laid back resort suitable for couples or young families. Lots of good restaurants at very reasonable prices, Phaedra was our favourite. Not many bars but Aquarius was good and always a warm welcome from Rebecca and Mike, they are Greek, not English, no English bars here, long may it continue. Very good beaches of which Long Beach is the best, if you want it quite and relaxing go to the north end of the beach near the Stairway Cafe, if you want it a bit livelier try the area near the beach club.

good resort laid back not really for teens but great for couples and young families five super markets about ten resturants best we thought was butlers house and nefelis although they are much the same only had dodgy service in the olive press but they might have been having an off day we paid aroung 50 euros for starter mains and a bottle of wine although house wine and a main would be about 25- 30 for the two of us

Lassi is a strip with several supermarkets, bars and returants. Easy access to beaches which are mostly quite narrow. Most items can be purchased in the supermarkets which are open until midnight. We enjoyed our visit.

Hire a car for a few days. The beahes here are good and nott overcrowded, however there is not too much to do in terms of things to see and do. Its a nice walk to argastolli.

Lassi is by far the nicest resort in Kefalonia, as it is so easy to travel to other places. Argostoli is just a 10 minute drive away, (or a half hour walk)The airport is also just a 10-15 minute drive away, so no costly transfer fee's, or travelling for hours after you get off the plane. We adored Kefalonia, and cannot rate it higher. Try and visit in either August, or October when they celebrate their patron Saint's day, and parade his corpse around the streets in a silver casket. A bit morbid, but a very enjoyable atmosphere.

my 2nd time to lassi first was honeymoon 16 years ago, it hasnt changed that much , beaches are good would recommend car hire to see the island , would go back again.

San Lorenzo Village is amazing, and I would reccomend it to anyone!

Excellent resort, only a 15 minute transfer from the airport. Good location for exploring the rest of the island. A perfect resort for couples / families with young kids. There are a handful of low key bars, a couple with Karaoke / Quizzes. There is one bar/club that is good. Still a very quiet resort though. Lots of places to eat out on a night. Only had one bad meal, that was at Mystic Gusto (we only had a snack at lunch time there, it might be better on an evening). The best meal by far was at Trata. We went twice and everything we ordered was superb, particularly the Octopus! To be fair every evening meal was really nice. Beaches in Lassi were good, although not a patch on Myrtos (about 45 mins away by car). Would definately return to Lassi. All good.

Lassi is the busiest resort on Kefalonia but it is still very quiet and not a place for young people looking for clubs and late bars. The bars there are very friendly and there is something for everyone's taste. All the restaurants in Lassi are very good and charge similar prices, don't be deterred if a restaurant looks empty, it does not mean that it is bad! The beaches are beautiful so if you are looking for just a beach holiday, Lassi is perfect, however it is also a great base for exploring this stunning island. An island coach tour is recommendable in order to see as much as possible if you are only staying for a week. Kefalonia is an enchanting island,full of beauty and tranquilty, and far less developed than other island holiday destinations.

The resort seemed like it had one purpose,..

To extract as much money from you as possible. Very expensive for drinks, very expensive for car hire. Not good value for money at all..

When we arrived in Lassi it was closing down for winter- we had originally booked with Kosmar for late September but were able to rebook with First Choice 5th to 19th Oct. Probably due to Kosmar going under a lot of the tavernas and bars opted to close during our first week and by the time we left there were four tavernas and one truly awful bar open only. Lassi was like a ghost town. However the weather was glorious, the beaches were empty and the tavernas that were open were ever so pleased to see you. First Choice were excellent and their rep in resort (Sammi) was a credit to them.

Perfect location for relaxing and enjoying transparent waters and beautiful beaches. Very calm, beautiful colors... Restaurants and convenient stores at reach. If you want to visit the rest of the island, it is good though to plan to rent a car, Argostoli, the main city of the island is ten minutes away by car
