I have been to this hotel for the last 3 years running so what more do I need to say?

The only possible slightly negative comment is that the 9 Muses really ought to "bite the bullet" and declare itself ADULTS ONLY.

Almost nothing is provided for children and there are lots of restrictions on the pool ie No Diving,No Ball Games,No Inflateables,No Shouting,No Rough Games.

The whole place is not at all child friendly with plenty of sharp edges, steps, open staircases etc. The gardens are formal and the whole place is low key. This suits me fine but I wouldnt have taken my two there when they were little.

Therfore the VERY FEW children that were there stuck out like sore thumbs and seemed pretty bored to me.

I may well go again next year.

"Honeymoon in the Nine Muses"

The hotel was lovely and staff very helpful. However, if you dislike cats in anyway stay clear of this hotel, its over run with them. We were told that its worse towards the end of the season. That also goes for the rest of the island.

Have just returned from a week's stay at the Nine Muses. The hotel was spotless, I couldn't find fault with this hotel at all. Great location only a few minutes walk to centre and across the road from beach. The staff were very friendly and helpful and made everyone feel special here. The two swimming pools were lovely and very clean. The apartments were large and airy with air conditioning and a very good powerful shower which was very much appreciated. Kefalonia is a very relaxing resort and I would have no hesitation in recommending the Nine Muses to anyone. You will not be disappointed!

We have just returned from this hotel and it was excellent. We have been going to Greece for many years and have stayed in lots of other islands but this hotel was certainly the best we have stayed in. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms spotless with maid service every day. The power shower is just wonderful.

Unfortunately we experienced a very bad forest fire whilst we were there, but the owner was so reassuring but sadly we were all evacuated to the Apostolata Hotel which was horrendous - why anyone would stay there beats me!!!! We were told that we were unable to return to the resort as there wasn`t power or water. But eventually after spending about 12 hours in that horrendous place we were taken back to the hotel to find everything was back to normal and the hotel provided frees drinks and food all afternoon to its guests. They cleaned every room thoroughly and by 6pm the air conditioning was usable - we were in temps of 46 and 48 degrees. The staff just couldn`t do enough for the guests and within hours everything was back to normal - you wouldn`t have known there had been a fire. Though at the back of the hotel what was once trees is now scorched land.

We used to use the pool at the back of the hotel known as the reading pool and it was lovely - the girl in charge Athina was so helpful and couldn`t do enough for you. It was so peaceful up there - perfect for relaxing.
We found the restaurant at the front Aoelus to be excellent - the staff were friendly and helpful. No problems there. The Symposium excellent.

The only downside is that First Choice are not very good in an emergency when it came to the fire - no organization at all but then I suppose they wouldn`t have to deal with this type of problem every day - though I do think they should have contingency plans in force and at least let you know where you should meet - not just saying walk up the beach - where to?

But this is an excellent resort and the hotel is just fantastic and its a place we would certainly go back to in the future. Nothing was too much trouble for them and I congratualate them all.

Just come back from one week at Nine Muses (17th June - 24th June 2007) and agree with all the other reviews, its a fantastic place. Only negative comment I will make is this is not an adult only hotel as mentioned in the brochure. Whilst we were there, there were definately families with younger children. Didn't spoil our holiday at all, but we were told at the travel agents that it was adults only, not the case.

1) Just across the road from a pebbly beach. Spent most of our free time here as there was a bar service from the beach to the hotel so you could order all day long without moving if you chose. Very convenient. Lots of sun beds and parasols for 6 euros a day.
2) Do take some plastic/waterproof shoes with you to wear on the beach and in the sea. After one day we went straight out and bought some locally as the pebbles really do hurt your feet. Once in the water though its fantastic. Very clear sea and lots to see and do. We saw lots of yachts sail in, moor up and use the facilities.
3) We hired a car from the rep and took two days to see the island. Favourite place with Assos. We also stopped off and found our own private beach which was just fab. These make the memories and lots of places to do this if you have a car.
4) We did find Kefalonia very expensive. We were told this is because its the up and coming place. Felt that prices sometimes more expensive than UK. Went to one place for a leisurely drink and two alcholic drinks came to 9 euros!
5) Best restaurant was the Symposium (spell?). Cracking service, food and location. The Italian is very good as well. Enjoyed cocktails at Captains Bar and drinks at the Piano bar on the beach.
6) Must just say as well that found First Choice fantastic. We done a taxi transfer and from getting off the plane to getting our luggage, seeing the rep and into the taxi, was no more than 15 mins. For the sake of £60, I would definately recommend a taxi transfer. Was nearly 2hrs quicker than the coach and arrived without any hassle or stress. Even on the way back to the airport, we went straight in and didn't have to queue outside in the heat.

Overall we had a very lovely holiday. Wouldn't personally of wanted more than a week here, but we are not spend all day on the beach people and like to see things. Think we would of been bored if we had booked two weeks in this resort. Feel that we have seen the island and what it has to offer by hiring a car and going out and about.
