"Peaceful"
Overall Resort Rating:
Nightlife is perfect if you want to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. Food and drink was excellant quality and a good price at Fois and Dom Spiros. Muses was overpriced and Acropolis - well I would give it a wide berth - but then again many people went everynight - Microwaved frozen food doesn't do it for me. Best beaches Avithos and Ammes. Ammes is at the end of the run way- a fasinating place to be on Tues and Sun watching the planes coming in.

"Svoronata"
Overall Resort Rating:
The resort is quite small, there isn't too much to do. We like that though. The beach is lovely, and there are some really good restaurants. It is not lively at all, but very relaxing.

"Quiet small village near the sea"
Overall Resort Rating:
Svoranta is very quiet but with plenty of restaurants to choose from. it is worth hiring a car for at least part of the holiday.

"Svoronata"
Overall Resort Rating:
Svoronata is a traditional village, and very spread out. It is quiet, so don't expect much nightlife, and either hire transport, or expect a fair walk! There are a number of beaches, all very good and quiet (even early September). Prices were high, but no more so than the rest of Kefalonia now - partly the exchange rate, but seems more expensive than some islands. We generally found the restaurants good, with friendly staff. There is a limited bus service to the rest of the island, but it is easy to hire a car if you want.
There is a path we found towards the end of the holiday - next to the restaurant/cafe with a racing theme (have forgotten the name!) which links through to come out uphill from the Astra village - which varied the route a bit.
We found the proximity of the airport added to the fun of the holiday rather than a distraction.
