"Svoronata"
Overall Resort Rating:
Svoronata is a traditional village, and very spread out. It is quiet, so don't expect much nightlife, and either hire transport, or expect a fair walk! There are a number of beaches, all very good and quiet (even early September). Prices were high, but no more so than the rest of Kefalonia now - partly the exchange rate, but seems more expensive than some islands. We generally found the restaurants good, with friendly staff. There is a limited bus service to the rest of the island, but it is easy to hire a car if you want.
There is a path we found towards the end of the holiday - next to the restaurant/cafe with a racing theme (have forgotten the name!) which links through to come out uphill from the Astra village - which varied the route a bit.
We found the proximity of the airport added to the fun of the holiday rather than a distraction.
