lambi was only a mile outside of Kos town centre and was easily accessible by foot and bus, the beach although coarse sand ,was only a couple of minutes away and the tavernas were plentiful and nearby.the shops on the main road were easily reached on foot .

I have just returned from a weeks stay at the alice springs hotel/apts in lambi kos , george barbara and all their family gave us a great welcome and nothing was too much trouble , we will certainly be returning again ,thank you george and barbara.

kos a loverly holiday resort - plenty of good food and chances to visit turkey and the local islands

We have never stayed in Kos so was really looking forward to it , and yes we are not disappointed loverly, friendly people, good food , but one mistake l made and l hold my hat up to it , that is l never read ther reviews on "Shopia Beach" our first impression of the room was quite good - untill we opened the bedroom doors , it just did,nt look nice and inviting , on the beds laid crumpled - creased sheets which we examined to see if they were in fact clean ! whilst they had holes in them and were stained they appeared cleanish - but no covers on the beds- so visually not a appealing sort of view , whatr the heck - shut the door - next the plug in the sink was stuck in after cleaning teh sink area and repairing the linkage to the plug it still kept getting stuck ! the shower leaked all over the floor "so what it goes down the hole in the floor" twenty minutes between showers was just enough for the water to drain from the mouldy tray ! micro not working "so what we can eat out" so not a good first evening - out for a meal into reception "nobody there" key retaining holes full of passports "great " who,s would l like ? about two am l heard the most horrible screaming coming from reception , feeling like a hero out l went ! my first encounter with "Sophia" ranting and raving at her staff - almost as loud as the howling dogs from the gypsy camp right next door (excluded from the brocure and explaiing why all the rooms were being swapped around ) well this happened on numerous occasions during our stay the "sophia" is the rudest person to ever walk this planet and claims to speak no "english" at all - not a very business minded lady - who is expecting tourists to spend money with her - a fact l made sure l did,nt - because next door was the "alice springs hotel" the place l will stay upon my return to Kos - a nice size pool ,clean, and most of all friendly - my opinnion of greece stays intact and yes l will return l would certainly suggest that the "sophia beach" be visited by a senior member of our holiday company to re rate it as 2* untill they can improve the facitities show them how to behave, clean the rooms properly,renew linen, and have that awfull gypsy camp removed ! on a good point if you go on holiday not believing this review - "george" on reception is brill ! ask him to show you his Elvis impression

a great harbour and town with plenty to see and do

i have stayed in many 2 star hotels this was by far the best ive been in its very welcoming own and run by the same family billy costas mama and george with help from scary mary who do there utmost to make ur holiday fun and entertaining the hotel its self is kept very clean the rooms are basic but clean where linens and towells are change when required. the continental breakfast has plenty of choice but if you like an english breakfast for 6 euros 50 mama does a great fry up at the poolside bar along with a wide choice of snacks for those lazy days by the pool where u can relax on the loungers on a very well kept pool. the bar is run by billy costas and mary who run quiz and bingo nites and barbi nite with greek dancers great fun and entertainment the more that join in the better young and old if you are not in to mixing then this is not the hotel as it is a small and friendly hotel where many a good evening is had by all in the hotel bar till the early hours, a holiday is what you make of it to join in is part of the experiance and the fun memorys .i have made many good frienda being a regular visitor to this hotel where quality of service never drops. the hotel is is a very short walking to the beach or harbour where there is plenty of shops and restaurants and after a good evening meal return to hotel bar for a late evening drinking and chatting or game of pool or to watch footy on satalite tv including sky sports. thanks to all at hotel for great holiday i shall be back soon

A lovely holiday, small island that's easy to find your way around with some fantastic scenery and beaches

This was our fourth visit to Kos but the first time in the Akti Beach Hotel but it certainly won't be our last. The Hotel is in a great location on the outskirts of Kardemena, with its own stretch of shingle beach. The Hotel is clean, nicely laid out and the staff are helpful and friendly. There are activities to take part in if you wish, but you are not pestered to take part if you don't want to. The rooms are clean and spacious and the bed linen and towels were changed daily. The Food was excellent! with more than enough choice at every meal. The pool area was kept clean and tidy and more importantly you are not allowed to reserve sunbeds with towels either around the pool or on the beach. We had a lovely holiday and will deffinately be going again.

what a fun place to visit we looked after by the family that run the hotel , nothing was to much trouble they were there to help. the bar was run by billy and costas who were great fun and excelliant hosts suported by mad mary who run the quiz and bingo nites not to be missed excelliant fun .barbi nite whith greek dancers a nite to remember.the great thing about the hotel is the way guests mingle young and old if this not the holiday you like then its not the place for you the room are very clean along with the hotel linen and are change when required.theres a great pool with reasonably price snacks all cooked to perfectionby mama a great place to relax.this by far an excelliant 2 star hotel if you want the frills of 5 star then you have to pay but value for money this excelliantwe shall be back soon .

lots to do, places to eat- nice walk . I was happy not to stay in the town, some night life for 'younger' ones. Very busy to walk round at night- nice shops, pretty old town. Felt safe all the time

Such a warm welcome, a small and really friendly family. The service they offer is really 2nd to none. We selected to go here because of the reviews and they were not wrong. The weather was fantastic, location idea, just a 2 min walk to the beach and a nice walk into Kos town in the evening. So many good places to eat, list goes on. You can do trips with Thompson, or for 3 island trip you can walk to the harbour - it's cheaper and just as good. We also travelled to another beach which was lovely. Wherever we went people were so friendly and made you feel so welcome. This was our first holiday without children and going here just made it so special. Also if you can leave your husband at the bar and go to bed! Us Brits like our local pubs and Alice Srings is just like your local- with a pool and better weather. The evening BBQ and lamb night both a must- BBQ what can you say!! We also met some lovely guests which made the holdiay even better- a lovely place which has lovely guests. Oh and a holiday without your children is really good!

Always a good place to visit

Our 6th visit and still as good as the first. Billy or Costas are always there with a friendly greeting. Whether you want to relax around the pool or find something a bit more lively the choice is yours, Barbecue nights definatly a must, great food,great entertainment. Many great nights in the bar, quiz and bingo nights are great fun (if you want to join in). The pool table is also a feature of entertainment, but beware of ex snooker players that turn a 15 min game into 1 1/2 hours(ha ha)Cannot comment on breakfast as we had so many late nights in the bar didnt make once,but the pool snack bar has a good menu with resonable prices.
