"Kos town"
Overall Resort Rating:
Kos Town is suitable for all ages from lively night life to couples looking to relax and family groups. We like the Poseidon Hotel there are nice restaurants close by and a short walk into the center (10/15minutes) but if you don't want to do this the bar at Poseidon is a good place to spend the evening in good company Karaoke and Barbecue night are highly recommended

"Untouched by ugly high rise hotels"
Overall Resort Rating:
Quiet, peaceful and beautiful. Beautiful island, wonderful people. A pewrfect place to escape the crowds. to chill out and relax. Not too much here for kids so it is perfect for those who want to escape from being surrounded by them.

Overall Resort Rating:
Litter everywhere. You have to to get on the beach. When we went not much open or closed down.Be careful where you walk as health and safety is not a top priority. There was lots of roadworks going on, lots of dangerous holes and wires just running across the pavement.

"great resort"
Overall Resort Rating:
Weve been to kos many times but this was the first time we had stayed in kos town, we came here because we thought it would be really cheap to eat out but we found it had gone up a lot, althought this was because of the rubbish euro at the moment. Kos itself was as lovely as ever, we hired a car for the first week which was expensive at 300 euros but was the going rate around the town. ( should have booked online before we came really as the prices wre a lot cheaper.) Loads to see and do, the castle and hippocrates tree in kos town and the asklepion are good places to visit. Go to paradise beach and thermos with the hot springs, both lovely days out. A lot of the beaches around kos are stony so hard to get in and out of the sea but paradise beach is sandy and great for the children. We had a few days in kardamena which is where we normally stay and went to the kool pool which was suprisingly quiet and we had the pool almost to ourselves.A lot of places seemed to have shut down and our favourite restaurant in kardamena, synteknos was closed. A visit to the waterpark in mastichari is a must and we had a great day there and we drove around all the little villages and up into the mountains which gave a great view all around.

"nice resort"
Overall Resort Rating:
The only place we would recommend was Jacksons Bar and the Chinese restaurant above it (madesha's?) - Very nice food and the people there were very friendly - including Irish Tony who always threw in a few drinks for us!
There is lots of bars and restaurants around the harbour. Bar Street is very lively on a night time but can tire of the constant mothering of the staff outside trying to get you to go to their bar. There are beggars around the harbour and in the town whose children followed you for money which was very sad and very uncomfortable to see.
The beach is not sandy manly stony as its main attraction is the harbourer you can get a boat from Kos town to Bodrum (Turkey) for very good prices and you can visit other islands.

"Kos Review"
Overall Resort Rating:
As last year, we were totally relaxed and chilled out. Went into the mountains and we were rewarded with glorious views from the Old Pyli and Zia. Food was as good as last year and so was the welcome. Hired pushbikes for 3 days which were great fun. Great to have cycle paths on the Island. I go in August every year the weather is always glorious !! It's always in the 80s & 90s !! Be sure to use plenty of sun cream if your room doesn't have air con a fan is a must for nite time

"kos"
Overall Resort Rating:
Asklepion: its easy to see why once you get up here. Good historical site with much of the structure still preserved. We rode bicycles up, but it wasnt too easy. Great place to hang out for a while and ponder your thoughts at the birth place of medicine. We stopped for to look at ceramics at a hillside shop and also had lunch at a nice little Turkish settlement before getting back to Kos town.

Overall Resort Rating:
Caters for all ages and all nationalities.
Lots of places to eat and drink alongside the lovely harbour and beyond! A few bars/restaurants try to entice you in but not in an aggressive manner but overall there is free non-hassle choice!
Would definitely recommend Kos Town if you like a lively resort although late teens would probably prefer Kardamena as it's more like an upmarket Blackpool in the sun.
