Me and my girlfriend spent last week at the Blue Lagoon in Kos, got back on Saturday night. It was a fantastic holiday, the hotel is brilliant. The pools are enormous, and there are plenty of sunbeds, came back with a great tan! The room was nice, we had air con which we needed as it was really hot. The food is good, though you have to dress smartly for dinner.

This hotel has the best and biggest swimming pool i have ever seen and there is also a seperate kids pool for smaller children which has slides and there is an adults only pool. The food is very nice with loads of choice and ther are three restaurants to choose from. The only tiny complaint we could find with the hotel was that the beds were a little hard for our liking, otherwise the hotel was perfect. The hotels private beach was not the best but we did go swimming and snorkelling in the sea. Aqua shoes are a good idea to get you over the line of rock that lies at the sea edge. once over that the sea bed is sandy. All in all a very good hotel and an excellent holiday.

Very clean, lovely gardens, spa and gym very good. Massive swimming pool with plenty of sunbeds. Although we preferred the adults only pool as it was quieter. Plenty of entertainment for children with their own kids pools and clubs. Entertainment team put on very good shows in the evening. Food was good the Greek restaurant is definately worth a visit or two. Unfortunately wasn't to impressed with the beach.

this place is amazing and quite simply the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in!!!

Arriving at 5am we were welcomed by some very awake looking receptionists before being driven to our room in a golf buggy!! First impressions of the hotel were just how clean and elegant it all looked!! The reception area was a vast space of marble and tiling while, even at that time of the morning, the landscaping around the grounds was spectacular!!!

We'd booked a room for 3 people and were expecting a sofa bed - we were more than pleasantly surprised to find ourselves in a room with not only 3 very good size beds but more than enough space for another!! Everything felt spacious and had the air of simple luxury about it - dark wood furniture and enough storage for 3 girls worth of holiday clothes!!! As we were on the ground floor we had a terrace which was reasonably large and caught the late afternoon sun perfectly! The bathroom was much larger than expected with a bath and shower combination!!

Waking up the next morning we'd missed breakfast in the restaurant but were very pleased to find out that a continental breakfast was served at the pool bar until midday - as we discovered you can literally eat all the time at this hotel - there's always somewhere serving food!! And the quality of the food is fantastic - we'd taken cash with us after reading reviews, expecting to eat out quite a lot - we needn't have bothered - we ended up eating out only once and this was because we wanted to watch the football in Kos Town - I was also surprised to find that the food at this restaurant didn't live up to that we had eaten in the hotel!! There's a lot of talk on this website about repetitiveness and lack of choice in food - while it may be true that the salad tends to be the same daily (delicious too) everything else changes considerably and the choice is huge!!!! We more often than not found ourselves with mountains of food on our plates because we wanted to try everything!!!!

Moving onto the staff - they are quite simply brilliant!!! From the managers greeting you into every meal at the restaurant, to the bar and waiting staff and the entertainment team everyone is extremely friendly, attentive and hard working!!! Personally I couldn't find fault with any one of them!!!!

I'm a little ashamed to say that we barely ventured out of the hotel grounds - but this just pays tribute to how lovely it is!!! The pool is by far one of the major selling points of the hotel - i've never seen a pool so big anywhere I've previously stayed!! With built in jacuziis and other design features it was a pleasure to lie beside it all day (every day). There is also an a la carte restaurant, numerous bars and a club on site - it's fair to say there's something for everyone here!!!

I think one of the things that struck us most of all was the fact that if we had taken no extra cash with us we could happily have survived within the hotel - it is truly, in every sense of the word, all inclusive!!!

I don't really know what else I can say...stay here it's amazing!!!!!

We stayed first week in June at this hotel, we loved it so much and miss it!! The staff are very warm and friendly and the food was wonderful (but not if you only like boring English food) lots of delicious salads, veg, fruit, good choice of drinks and cocktails, we saved a fortune going all inclusive. The beach is really nice and you can have free cold drinks, it only cost us 5 euros for 2 beds and a parasol for the day. The pools are great, plenty of space, kids seemed to love it. Our favourite place was the Spa with steam room, sauna, pool and massage chairs. Very relaxing place. It is a bit of a walk into Kos Town but you can hire bicycles for 3 euros a day, everyone does this, it costs less if you hire the bikes for longer. Our room was small but nice, we had a fridge, flat screen TV, tea and coffee making facilities, bath robes, slippers and safe. Cannot fault this hotel but calling the UK from your hotel is not cheap. We would go back again, it's very impressive, I just hope we get a bigger room next time.

"Lovely huge pool, quiet area"

Great hotel in a quiet area outside Kos Town. Lovely huge pool, nice food, nice drinks although slightly weak.

Really good hotel for an All Inclusive, no harm in watered down drinks if you are drinking them all week anyway:)

I would definitely go back. We're vegetarian and still found plenty to eat. Rooms were nice, we were overlooking the pool and restaurant. Really nice. The beach isn't so great and is across the road, and I think you have to pay for loungers there. We're not fond of the beach anyway, although we did go a few walks along there. We never walked into Kos Town we took the local bus about 1 euro.

"Amazing!"

Transfer was approx 45 minutes (4 other hotel stops prior to Luca Blue Lagoon). After visiting the other 4 hotels you will arrive outside the Blue Lagoon and think you’ve landed in heaven! Its truly amazing, reception staff welcome you with champagne and the ambience is perfect. Reception staff organise everyones room quickly and your bags will be taken to the rooms for you. The hotel is grand, modern and clean. The complex is huge however, if your rooms are distant from reception (where the restaurant is) you will be taken on a golf buggy to your rooms! The huge swimming is in the centre of the complex, along with the pool bar, the main Spa and the entertainment tent. The accommodation blocks are max 3 stories high and cover the circumference of the complex. Our room was amazing – the beds were comfortable, very clean, reasonable storage space, TV was fairly rubbish for the British, but then we don’t go away to watch Eastenders! Each room has its own balcony and wherever you are you will have a nice view. The bathrooms were very spa like – you get you own bath robe and towels which are changed daily. Your breakfast and dinner is served in the main dining restaurant (off reception). There is so much choice for every age group and diet. Breakfast includes – full fry up, fruit, cereal, continental and pastries. Dinners included - Salads, fish, pasta, meat, vege, Indian, Chinese, Mexican, Spanish….then the puddings! They’ve got it down to a T! Lunch is served in the pool bar – again good variety of everything. The drinks - Soft drinks, wine and beer is self service by the pool side. Any spirits (local only) and cocktails are served from pool bar. You must visit all 6 bars on the complex! Inside the entertainment tent are 2 bars; one is a paying bar with brand name spirits and cocktails and the other is the inclusive bar – which most of us used!! There are enough chairs and tables inside the tent. Ladies do take a cardy as it can be a bit of a wind trap. Entertainment on a whole was good but if you fancy ‘getting out’ of the complex you can walk to Kos Town in approx 25min, it’s a lovely walk and the setting around the harbour is very pleasant. If you walk up away from the sea you will find the traditional lanes/alleys with shops. If you fancy getting out for the day hiring a bike or buggy is an excellent option. We travelled the whole island in a day. paradise beach is a must! There are some good price buggies a you walk into Kos.

"Our Fab Holiday to Luca Blue Lagoon "

Overall Hotel Rating:

Very Good

We arrived late after a delay on our flight. Had a buggy straight to our room which had only just been cleaned as the floors were wet (if we had been on time they wouldn’t of been ready). Nice rooms. But no storage! Just a giant wardrobe with 10 hangers and no drawers apart from 3 very small ones in 1 of the bedrooms. A nightmare when there R 5 of you!!! TV consisted of 3 British basic channels. Mind you we don’t go on holiday 4 the TV but a few more channels would have been good!

Around the hotel etc. Pool was fantastic! Clean, Very Large, though not enough sun beds. Its one of those situations that you hate being in, if you don’t get up at 6.30am you don’t get a sun bed. The 2nd week was better though as it was quieter. As schools were starting to go back. The kids slide pool was dangerous! There was no lifeguard kids just bundled down the slides. It was a bit scary but ok if you supervised. The food was plentiful so was the drink. Food was a bit strange at times but you could always find something to eat (sprouts for breakfast???? Mmmmm! Lol!) It did get a little boring after a week. The Themed restaurant was ok. The Asian Evening was a little strange. Don’t expect anything curry it was all very bland. We tried the Italian too and there was no pizza! Again strange! Breakfast was very greasy! Though plenty of rolls, yog, pancakes, fruit, cereal etc. The Lunch was in the pool bar (very hot when we were there) we had difficulty finding tables at times, but a great pizza bar for the kids and they did pasta too every day along with salad bar and unlimited ice cream.

We have just returned from Luca Blue Lagoon Resort Hotel in Lambi and it certainly has the WOW factor! We were rather concerned by the reviews we had read online but when we arrived our concerns were "washed away" as it is a truly amazing hotel. The pool was massive, the biggest one I have ever seen, OK it was quite difficult to get sunbeds at the front of the pool but as there were 6 adults we were quite happy to stay on the sunbeds at the back. The food was excellent, the reports I had read complained that there was not enough choice - excuse me, did they stay at the same hotel as us!!! We found excellent choices, plenty of good quality food and their desert section was amazing. We had a wonderful Polish waitress called Karolina who was very friendly. The layout of the hotel is so good and our rooms were fantastic. We had a garden view and they were extremely quiet and the view was superb. The Spa is a must, we went in every day and enjoyed a quite swim in the indoor/outdoor sections + the Jacuzzi's were very relaxing. There is also a gym if you're feeling energetic, all FREE, you just pay for any treatments that you wish to have. The evening entertainment was the only down side to our wonderful holiday, it was a bit boring so we took the bus into Kos Town on an evening for a couple of hours. It is such as beautiful place and you must visit the Limani Cafe Bar situated in the little square opposite where the day trip boats are moored. Run by a wonderful Greek couple who really made us feel very welcome, they gave us their address so we could keep in touch with them. WELL DONE Luca Blue Lagoon Resort for giving us a wonderful holiday to remember!

"Well worth it's rating"

Having read previous reviews we were a little worried as to whether the Luca Blue would live upto a 5* rating, I'm glad to say we had no need to worry the place is amazing (we are quite fussy). We were the 4th drop off from the Airport and arrived at The Luca Blue at around 2.30am, we were given forms to complete on the bus to speed up check in. When we arrived we were immediately greeted by happy staff. We were given a drink and check in took no longer than 10 minutes, then our luggage was loaded onto a golf buggy (along with us) and taken immediately to our room and we were shown how to use the air con etc. We were given a list of restaurant times, you have the choice at breakfast to go to the main restaurant 7am-10am, if you find that to early you can eat at the pool restaurant until 12noon. Lunch in served at the pool restaurant 12.30 til 6pm, then the evening meal is served in two sittings in the main restaurant. We have to say that all the food was amazing there was so much choice and they were constantly putting more food out, the variety would, i'm sure suit everyone. With regards the restaurant in the evening, be warned men must wear long trousers. The entertainment was fine, the kiddies disco starts at 8pm and last about half an hour, there were different acts each night, all of which kept us entertained. We didn't go out of the resort in the evenings as we felt there was no need. The pool-what can i say-is fantastic, the only problem is you probably won't get a lounger near the pool unless you are up early, this goes for the kids pool also. However, when we were there they were putting notices up saying that any towels or bags left unattended would be removed, I think this is fantastic as many people were "reserving" their loungers then going out for the day, not really fair on fellow guests. Our daughter only attending the kids club once as she wanted to stay in the pool, yet totally enjoyed whilst she was there, the kids pool has it's own bar where the kids can ask for drinks and icecream without having to drag a parent along. All the staff from management to maids were very friendly and efficient, we would totally recommend the Luca Blue Lagoon and will hopefully be returning next year.

"Beware of the annex building!"

Overall Hotel Rating:

Below Average

Open quote

We stayed at the Luca Blue Lagoon for my brother's wedding and had high hopes for a five star relaxing holiday. However, we were allocated a room in a building termed the annex of the main hotel complex, which was at least 300 metres away from the main building. We awoke on the first morning to no hot water and in the daylight we realised just how far away and cut off we were from the main hotel. To get to the hotel we had to walk down a remote unlit road. This was of particular concern to my mother who would be staying in a room on her own, and has difficulty walking at times due to her arthritic knee. We of course complained immediately to staff at the hotel reception who informed us that the hotel was overbooked due to a fire in another Kos hotel, so we could not be moved at that time. I believe we should have taken priority over recent bookings as we booked our stay back in October 2007. When we tried to contact reception we actually got the reception for the Hotel Athina (a 3 star hotel which was actually closer to our annex than the Luca). Many people were suggesting that we'd actually been allocated a room in this hotel rather than the Luca. We had 2 days without hot water and electricity and not even an apology. Not 5 star service in my book! We were treated rudely by staff. When we enquired if we could extend our stay in the room (we had a very late return flight) the manager rung a colleague (probably in the Athina where we'd actually been dumped) and said (and I quote) would it be possible for these customers to keep their room on until 6pm? But dont worry if you cant as Ive already spent enough time on them today. I found it very rude and disrespectful that she would speak this way in front of us!

I have never wrote a holiday complaint in my life and I'm usually pretty laid back about things but I just wanted to warn people that when you book, make sure you aren't put in the annex! You will not receive a 5 star service there!

This was one of the best All Inclusive holidays we have been on, there was something for everyone of us. The pool was the biggest one we have ever seen. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, from the mangement to pool attendants etc. The animation team were friendly and encouraged people of all ages to join in. The food catered for everyone which was excellent. Our only disappointment was the beach and the lack of facilities there. No free sunbeds - the beach was not private to the hotel - but this did not bother us as we foudn everythign we wanted in the hotel. so much so that we have booked to go again this year. Like all other hotels you have to get up early to claim the sunbeds!

On our arrival at the hotel we were taken to our family suite on a golf buggy and our luggage was delivered to us 10 minutes later. The family suite had a separate bedroom for the kids, complete with playstation. The bathroom was clean and had a bath and a shower. Towels and sheets changed everyday. Maids cleaned our room to a high standard everyday. Individual air conditioning units in each bedroom and large balgony overlooking spa.
Safe deposit key 30 euros for two weeks.

main pool is MASSIVE with plenty of sunbeds, however you need to be up at the crack of dawn if you want a bed close to the pool. Pool area always clean and tidy. Separate kids pool with water slides and kids bar serving ice cream in cones. main pool bar serving continental breakfast 10 til 12, snacks 12 - 6, afternoon cakes 4-6 and drinks throughout the day available self service, even wine and beer on tap!

Main restaurant excellent. Good choice of food even for a vegetarian like me. Even after 2 weeks i always found the food really nice and i was spoilt for choice. Kids menu available. Desserts to die for.Wine served with meals by friendly staff.A La Carte restaurant ok, less choice than main restaurant, but worth a visit. Breakfast served in main restaurant from 07.00.I cannot fault the food, drink or staff. On our day of departure the all inclusive deal still applied even though we didnt leave the hotel until 21.40.The reception staff are really helpful and work really hard.Free pool towels are available from the hotel.

The evening entertainment got a bit boring after 2 weeks, but the entertainment team always tried hard to keep the kids happy.

The spa is nice. Showers available in there so no need to pay for late check out room.
Kos town is only a 30 minute walk, or 1 euro on the bus or 7 euro taxi. the beach near the hotel is nice. Sunbed and umbrella only 1 euro 50 cents to hire.Waterpark is worth a visit, it wasnt too busy considering we went in august. Free bus there was busy and unreliable so next time we would go on the trip with the rep.

This hotel is truely amazing and we would love to go back. we have stayed in other 4 star hotels and this is far the best and really good value for money.
