"Aslanis Apartments review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
We found the apartments and staff really nice, the location is out in the middle of nowhere but Tingaki is not far awy (Marmari not worth going to - blink and you will miss it).
The aparments and pool are all you need, clean and well maintained. The staff are excellent,Lisa,Anastacia and Billy really made the effort to get to know the holidaymakers and made us really welcome. We met some great people out there,Gaz,Alex and Gabby(Fulham fans)and the Scouse girls with Kieran. You helped make our hols guys so Thanks. Its true what people say about insects there but the smell mentioned by people on here was not that bad really. The salt flats are worth a look and the nearest beach is ok but make sure you dont go too far or you will find fat German nudists!
All in all Aslanis is probably not a place I would go again but that is down to location and not the place itself. The beer is cheap(ish) and the food is ok if a bit limited for choice. There is a TV room with English tv,pool table and table tennis.A nice touch was the books that were available for people to borrow with no charge.I recommend Aslanis as I nice place to relax and the Espiros restaurant is well nice (at the island in Tingaki turn right and its 100 yards on left facing beach) Ask for Stematis who is the owners son and a great bloke.
I hope I have not gone on too long but wanted to give an honest review about the place. Thanks to staff at Aslanis - you were great!!

This resort is alrite but not for young children as the best bars and restraunts are at least 25 - 30 mins walk from the apartments. I would recomment this resort only to those whop like to walk or will happily hire a car or quad bike - which in mamari there are lots of hire centres.
the beach is a good 25 - 30 mins walk but is worth it and for the naturists amoung you there is a nudist part along the right side of the beach. The bars are good and i dont think you will find that you will miss any of the football , cricket or any sports as most of the the bars have english TV !! The games room at the hotel is good with working TV and a pool table and the swimming pool is lovely and cool- perfect after hours of sunbathing just to jump in and cool down!!! There are two convenience stores just round the corner not far from the beach. There is a salt lake which some of you people called a swamp!!!
for the teenagers there is a good Go-Karting track round the corner and it has and internet cafe!!
i have been twice and will certainly go again!!!
thanks for reading and i hope you enjoy the aslanis apartments as much as i did!!
DAN xx

Just got back from 2 weeks in Kos, we had a lovely time.
The Aslanis Apartments are very clean and the pool is lovely and there are no shortage of sun beds. Please make sure you have enough Euros cash though as the reception keeps hardly any cash on them.
The apartments are as stated practically in the middle of no-where the nearest shop is about a 15 minute walk away. We only hired a car for one day and that was enough but if you want to explore more of the island a car is a must.
We travelled to Tigkaki every night which costs 6 euros definately visit Spyros restaurant one of the best we had tried.
Make sure you have plenty of cash as drinks arnt that cheap. A local beer approx 3.50Euros and Cider 2.00Euros for half.(well i didnt think that was cheap compared to spain and alike).
Overall had a brilliant time but wouldnt return its a place you only go once and see and do everything not enough to do for young people unless you just want a chilled out holiday. Wouldnt reccomend for a group of friends but definately for couples and families.
Enjoy your holidays

Just got back from 2 weeks in the aslanis apts, overall we all had a very good holiday.
I do agree with a lot of whats been said but a holiday is what you make of it, there was the most miserable barman in the world, there really was nothing to do at nights and the thompson rep was non exsistant apart from the odd occation she would turn up at the bar to get hammered then disappear again! the mozzies were persistant and you are in the middle of knowhere.
My advice is hire a car as soon as you arrive you can get a real bargain if your prepared to barter in tingaki in fact dont pay face price for anything there allways seems to be a bit of room for a haggle!,dont book any trips through the rep or rely on there help and advice!dont eat in kos town(awful)!.
You`ll have a good holiday if your prepared to have one,we met up with some really nice people round the pool and ate out every night in tingaki at the finish there was 14 of us round the table!.
have fun!!!

There are islands in the outer hebrides that are not as remote as the Aslanis just like cuprinol it is exactly as it says in the brochure 2.5 to marmari or 3.5 to Tingaki but at the bottom of the road is a go kart track and a bar so it is not all bad.
That aside if you want to get away for a nice break without hassle Kos is the place, the Greeks really do let you enjoy your holiday in peace charge for nearly everything but leave you alone.Aslanis is nothing special surrounded by marshes you really do need to hire a car or bike to get about or rely on buses (cheap) or taxis (6e) to tigaki, the bar is a bit pricey but tony does give generous measures of spirits, food is a bit hit and miss cafe food without the hygiene, rooms are kept clean but towels and sheets changed twice a week, if you want a/c it will cost you e35 a week and the safety deposit boxes e15/20. If you hire any form of transport you have to use Nikos in tigaki besides being the only Kos local who thinks that little Britain is hilarious (he can recite most of the Jokes ) he will also cut you a great deal on bikes quads or cars.
On the rep front in 2 weeks we managed to have 5 different reps for whatever reason, my advice thomson need to cut the prices of their trips as any trip they offer you can pick up in town for 1/2 the price and you go on the same transport, in Tigaki use Theokritos Travel just up the road from the beach and Nikos Bikes, Food inn the town all the places we ate in were good free shots or coffee after. Go to Zia at sunset it is really nice hire a quad or a car and get about your self and use the local transport it is reliable

We booked our holiday on the promise that it was a ";get away from it all"; experience. It was that all right.
We arrived in the night and were really pleasantly surprised with the condition of the room. It was wonderfully clean and spacious and over looked the pool. I'd read previous reviews on the staff at Aslanis some raved about them, some said how miserable they were. We found them the latter but you cant fault the way they run that place. Maid service every single day and the pool was lovely and clea.
We hired a moped whilst we were out there, so we could get around. That was a great idea, so long as you're careful. It meant we could go into Tigaki every night which is a wonderful place. We ate at DANA every evening, overlooking the wonderful beach and watching fantastic sunsets. The beaches were beautiful and the sunbeds, although 3 euro a day, were nice and comfy.
All in all, this was a wonderful holiday and we'd definately go back!

Right where can i start?,first off the aslanis is as what it states a no problem to unwind kinda place just the right amount of apartments/studios nice pool(very clean),good food, good staff, and a very good barman(tony),all the usual trimmings like maids(everyday),sun loungers, pool table, and occasional greek nights are there aswell, all in all a most enjoyable place to stay for families, and couples wanting a quiet break.
location is as in all the other reviews have stated is out in the sticks but thats what gives it (i think)it's unique atmosphere. There are bikes available to hire from the reception(3euros for the day)which i recommend as tingaki which is about 3/4 km away and mamari is about 2km.
Tingaki is the better of the two (hell of alot more to do than mamari) but still quite small and food establishments are a plenty(recommend tingaki beach rest).
if you want a more eventful night clubs, touts, food, music, etc, etc visit kos town or kardamena to be honest kos is a small island and if you can be botherd to get off your arse and venture around it you will find it caters for all and is a truly nice place to be:-)
of course recommending all of this is easy except much of my nights were spent in the aslanis bar with fellow holiday makers till the early hours all due to the barman of the century tony ,this guy made my holiday and many others all i can say is yamas my friend and thanks:-) hi to pete and sophie aswell top couple c ya soon
