"Princess Of Kos review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
We visited the Princess of Kos all inclusive hotel in July 2007 I had in fact looked at the ratings of this hotel on another site as there was no postings here and it was not a good report. However we went ahead and decided to make the best of it.
When we arrived in the afternoon we were invited by the receptionist to go and have some lunch as is was late and the staff were about to clear everything away I had salad with halloumi cheese and a pint of the local beer which was ok.
We were then told were our room was located, we were pleasantly surprised it was very clean and comfortable, the maid service was good and we soon settled in. The evening meal was a selection various salads and a choice of two cheeses, the hot food was pork schnitzel chicken and a selection of vegetables which to be honest I did not care for it but I am a bit fussy with food the other guests seemed to enjoy it as their plates were piled high. In all honesty I think the food was aimed at the German Russian and east European guests at the hotel who incidentally were very well mannered and well behaved considering all the beer wine and spirits were free and you could soon find yourself a little tipsy after hitting the local spirits.
The hotel as two swimming pools one near the beach and one near the main part of the hotel. The pools were clean and well maintained as was the hotel and gardens the staff were friendly especially the two ladies in reception who were very helpful. The drinks were situated throughout the hotel complex and were generally very good. Some days the drinks dispensers attracted wasps but no one seemed to get stung probably as the wasps were intoxicated this was no real problem though. The spirits were only 30% proof that was probably a good thing as it would be terrible to have a hangover in 32 degrees heat.
After a couple of days we decided we would venture out of the hotel and got on the bus to Kos town, the bus picked you up from reception each day at nine o'clock and returned at one o'clock. I soon realised that it would have been better to have come to Kos town to stay as there was a lot more going on and there were plenty of very good restaurants and bars as well as the hustle and bustle of the harbour. mastihari is the area were the hotel is situated we got a taxi to mastihari harbour on the third day it cost eight euro. The harbour was nice and I was surprised by how many bars and restaurants were in such a small area I could have stayed there. We took the ferry from the harbour to the island of Kolymos which is a lovely island. Outside of the hotel were three or four bars but they did not really do food but it was nice to have a change from the hotel.
The entertainment in the hotel was not great but then again this was geared up to the German tourist's fact we were only one of two English couples staying in the hotel.
all things taken into account I would say it was ok but not great but then again everyones opinion might not be the same as mine
