Yiannis Hotel Reviews

Returned from Yiannis (28 May) after a two week holiday. Have been going to the same hotel for the last 7 years and, for the last 4 years have been going twice a year (in May and September) and have already booked to go back this September.

There are a number of reviews of this hotel (admittedly mainly very old reviews) which give a totally opposite account - something I cannot understand as, from the number of times I have been there, I have never found them to be anything but very helpful, friendly and the hotel very clean. The rooms are very clean (maids come in daily, except Mondays) however the rooms, as is standard in Greece, are basic but with all that lovely weather, who wants to stay in their room! The pool, though not massive, is quite large enough and is kept scrupulously clean. The hotel is owned by Yiannis and his wife Maria but is run by their son and daughter, Kyriakos and Voula. They are both very helpful and approachable and Kyriakos (who runs the bar by the pool) is a terrific host and is helped by Monica who is absolutely lovely.

Yiannis apartments - we went to Yiannis with some trepidation due to the negative report that we read on Holidays Uncovered (as did a lot of people who were on holiday the same time as us). I would now like to readdress the balance somewhat! The Yiannis apartments were kept immaculately clean. The rooms were cleaned every day (apart from Monday). The towels were changed 3 times a week, as was the bedding. Everyone was helpful at Yiannis. We would certainly go back (hopefully in September).We were in a 2nd floor room that overlooked the sea, and the views are stunning. It's the best view that we've every had in Greece (we've been to 7 islands so far).The rooms are basic, but they are everywhere in Greece. Please, please, please, don't be put off going to Yiannis!

Spent two weeks here. Unfortunately the weather was disappointing. However Nidri was beautiful. Fantastic views. Would certainly recomment the boat trips and hiting a cycle. The cycle ride to the waterfalls was great. We certainly did not have one bad meal while we were there and there were numerous tavernas offering excellent value.

The accomodation was dire. Have been going to Greece for 20 years so do not have too high expectations as generally the accomodation is usually basic. The cleaning was below standard and the bathroms were very poor. The staff/owners were a miserable bunch with the exception of Monica who was always very polite and chatty. The bar staff was more interested in their love life, reading or watching TV.
Would recommend Nidri but not this accomadation

superb holiday lovely people excellent food idillyic place very scenic clean hotel pool lovley and lovley room cant fault this hotel in anyway basic but very clean the regular cleaner was excellent very friendly the bar men kiriaccus was fantastic made our holiday hes a maniac but in a nice way if you like food i can strongly recomend nidri to eat out. boat trips excellent value for money
